About the role

We are seeking a Learning and Development Manager to work with the Director of Partnerships and Federation Development to develop an ambitious learning and development strategy for Emmaus UK.

As a hands-on Learning & Development Manager, you will play a critical role in developing the skills, knowledge, and capabilities of employees, companions, volunteers and trustees across the Emmaus Federation and within Emmaus UK.

Your primary focus will be on developing and delivering effective learning interventions, programs and initiatives that align with the goals of Emmaus and support the growth and development of its people.

You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the growth and development of employees, companions, volunteers and trustees, contributing to a positive learning culture, and supporting the overall success of the federation. Your role will involve supporting the development and delivery of strategic plans, programme design and implementation, stakeholder management, and continuous evaluation and improvement of learning initiatives.

This role is home-based, with some travel required across the UK.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a high-performing Learning and Development Manager, with experience working in a learning and development role, including experience of delivering training in-person and online to a range of stakeholders.

The successful applicant will be able to deliver effective and engaging learning and development programmes and will have experience of identifying and analysing learning and development needs, developing relevant approaches and evaluating effectiveness, developing a strong culture of continuous improvement across Emmaus UK and the wider federation.

The Communications Intern is a member of the Development and External Affairs team. Their key focus is enabling impactful content production and championing high communications standards. The comms intern will report to the Communications and Publicity Manager and will support the development of a consistent and effective brand story that engages and unites both our external and internal audiences.

Pay and conditions

• The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week). 9-month fixed term contract.
• The salary for the role will be £23,850 (starting salary will depend on skills and experience).
• You will be entitled to 25 days paid holiday (plus statutory holidays).

Specific responsibilities

An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:

• Create engaging digital content for website, social media, and e-newsletters, through written copy and graphics.
• Support the management of CSE’s website, including uploading and editing content.
• Plan, manage, and deliver 4-6 small (30-40 people) in person or larger online (100 people) events annually, including coordination of logistics, content development, and stakeholder engagement.
• Support with edits to designed materials including factsheets and leaflets using Adobe Creative Suite.
• Support internal communications including organising systems and producing our monthly internal e-newsletter by creating content that motivates employees and informs them of important issues.
• Support with digital channel optimisation including PPC, SEO, social media (paid and organic).
• Support the development of CSE’s social media presence through content creation, scheduling posts, monitoring engagement and reporting.
• Contribute to the operational success of CSE by assisting the team with administrative and organisational duties as necessary. Collaborate with all teams to ensure cohesive delivery of our brand story across the organisation and through all communications.
• Collaborate with teams to monitor brand health, analyse audience insights, and refine our communications strategy.
• Ensure content strategy and resulting core content (incl. image library management, print production, core content, copywriting, designed asset production, and management) is up to date, consistent with our brand guidelines, of high quality and readily available for use by the CSE teams.

About the service

Children and young people who are looked after don’t always have a trusted adult that they can rely upon for support, with many young people not having someone that they can talk to or trust.

Our independent visitor service provides looked after children and young people with an adult volunteer who spends time with them, offering support and friendship whilst being a positive role model to enable young people to build on their confidence and self-esteem, whilst helping learn new skills and raise their aspirations.

About the role

We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic IV Coordinator who will be responsible for the day to day running of the independent visitor service in Solihull and Bedford, splitting your time between these two services working 27 hours for Solihull and 8 hours for Bedford.

You will be responsible for managing and developing a pool of volunteers which includes the recruitment, training, and induction of new volunteers to become volunteer independent visitors, before matching them with a young person who has been referred to the service.

You will provide continuous support to volunteers to ensure that the service is being delivered to a high standard, and that children and young people are safeguarded at all times.

You will also be responsible for monitoring volunteer visits, budgets and ensuring that risk assessments are undertaken as required, whilst acting as a link between NYAS and the local authority by liaising with social workers, carers and other professionals.

The Senior Programme Development Specialist  will work on complex and major bids, often on multimillion consortia, commercial contracts and multi-country partnerships, and will be expected to take a high degree of responsibility for developing successful bids including negotiations with internal and external partners. 

This position will drive a high-quality bidding process with institutional donors and large foundations to build a healthy and sustainable funding pipeline so that CIUK can achieve our programme goals. You will work closely with technical advisory teams, country offices, finance colleagues, and other partners in order to deliver winning bids, which showcase CARE’s programme innovation and deliver impact as well as ensuring adequate cost recovery for CIUK.

New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service.
