About the role

As an Experienced Practitioner, you will provide direct support and care for our young people who have complex emotional and mental health difficulties (such as trauma and loss) and can struggle to regulate their emotions.

Working within a therapeutic framework, you will develop a direct programme of work aimed at developing authentic relationships with our children and young people (aged 12 – 17 years old), you will also have responsibility for making sure our residents are safe, providing support, liaison with other professionals and completion of support documents to record information.

If applying for the Waking Night role, you will have the additional support of an on-call manager should there be any emergencies. Further to this, you will be involved in monthly team meetings and receive monthly supervision.

Applicants should have

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent (i.e. Level 3 Diploma Children and Young People Workforce with the children's social care pathway) or be willing to achieve the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare within 2 years as per Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 (England).
• Minimum of 1 years’ experience working and supporting children and Young People to achieve their full potential.

Leadership of the fundraising function at Caudwell Youth. You will be responsible for our fundraising strategy, working with the CEO. You will take a personal lead on high value giving from Corporate and Major Donors.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential skills and experience

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in fundraising, including a track record of securing high-value gifts of six figures.
• Proven track record of successfully developing and delivering fundraising strategies, including corporate partnerships, major gifts, trusts, and foundations.
• Sound leadership and team management experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve targets. The Fundraising Director will manage a team of two within a wider organisation of 25 staff.
• Excellent relationship-building skills with donors, corporate sponsors, grant-making bodies, and stakeholders, including grassroots and volunteer-driven fundraising efforts.
• Strong financial acumen, including experience in budget management, financial forecasting, and reporting on fundraising performance, with a focus on KPIs and success metrics.
• Ability to set and achieve clear fundraising growth targets, ensuring alignment between current income portfolios and projected expansion.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to craft compelling fundraising proposals and cases for support.

You will be joining at an exciting time for Ataxia UK as we celebrate our 60th anniversary year.

This brand-new role is an important part of our new strategy to sustainably grow our unrestricted income. Working closely with the Director of Fundraising & Communications and the wider team, the Senior Philanthropy Manager will lead the work to build a pipeline of major donors and family trusts and foundations.

You will be responsible for developing an excellent stewardship programme which nurtures income-generating relationships with Ataxia UK’s major donors. You will initially work with a fixed-term Philanthropy Consultant to lead the development of a researched and actionable pipeline of prospective new donors, and you will then work to successfully engage this pipeline. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a brand-new function as a senior member of an experienced team of fundraisers.

Ataxia UK operates a hybrid- working policy, with part time staff working 3 or 4 days a week expected to work from our offices in Highgate a minimum of 1 day a week. The role will require some occasional travel within the UK and, more rarely, internationally.

About you

The right candidate will be a natural relationship builder with a proven track record of securing high value, long term partnerships with major donors; personally securing 5 and 6-figure gifts.

You will use excellent communication skills to write compelling and tailored cases for support. As a key member of the Fundraising & Communications department, you will bring creativity, insight and experience to the team, and you will be a confident ambassador and representative internally and externally.

As an experienced major donor fundraiser, you will be comfortable and confident engaging with High-Net-Worth Individuals and their offices, celebrities, politicians and c-suite professionals. You will have the flexibility to join events and or meet donors and prospective donors at locations around the UK. As an ambassador of our brand, you will have the skills and experience to ensure you positively represent the interests of the ataxia community, and you will be someone who shares our commitment to supporting those affected by ataxia.

Job Purpose

To lead the management and continuous improvement of facilities, safety, maintenance and the provision of accommodation, prioritising contractual and statutory obligations alongside quality management reporting.

Main Responsibilities

• To ensure that relevant staff and volunteers are managed and supported sufficiently to fulfil their role and to operate in accordance with the requirements of legislation, funding arrangements and YMCA Doncaster’s policies, procedures and KPIs. 
• To maintain accreditation and compliance records, oversee submissions for quality management and inspections and act as the responsible / senior person as required.
• To operate a Health and Safety management system, including risk assessments, in keeping with legal obligations and the requirements set out in the Health and Safety Policy.

This is a newly created role which is being introduced to support the centralisation and future growth of the Marlow Education Trust . This hands-on role will be responsible for preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring all transactions and month-end processes are carried out, preparation of balance sheet, capital projects and fixed assets reconciliations , line management of finance officers and assistants, as well as  oversight of accounts payable, accounts receivable and VAT returns. You will be involved in cash flow forecasting, treasury/banking processes, budgeting/forecasting process, monthly reporting, variance analysis and more. You will support the CFO, and work closely with all schools’ leadership teams and Headteachers.

The successful candidate will have previous financial experience ideally in a school environment and a recognised accounting qualification,, and will be flexible and able to  demonstrate an ability to adapt to a changing environment. You will be professional in your approach to all aspects of the role,  extremely well organised, a team player and competent with accounting and procurement software, MsOffice and Google Suites. 

Main Responsibilities 

• Produce draft monthly and annual financial statements, including payroll and balance sheets reconciliations, income and expenditure, and cash flow statements

• Undertake payroll preparation including staff cost allocation on a monthly basis

• Support the production of regular re-forecasts during the academic year

• Prepare and post monthly and annual prepayment and accruals

• Maintain fixed asset register and post depreciation
