The 999 Club is a small charity doing big things with local people facing homelessness. For over 30 years we’ve been in the heart of Deptford providing warm welcomes and wraparound services ensuring those who need us are given the best chance of leaving homelessness behind for good.  

Our Gateway Drop-In Centre offers nutritious meals, laundry and medical facilities, showers, IT access, phone charging , a safe space to rest and a dedicated Women’s Sanctury.  

When members feel ready, our team of expert staff are on hand to support them into suitable accommodation where possible, secure income via paid work or benefits, and provide immigration signposting for those who need it. Once housed, our Move+ programme continues to work with them to ensure they settle into new accommodation with the knowledge, skills, community and hope required to thrive in their new life.  

We also run The Bridge, a free six-week evening mental health course open to anyone in the community experiencing mental distress. The programme provides a practical toolkit to support long-term mental wellbeing.  

JOB OVERVIEW AND OBJECTIVES 

This newly created role will play a vital role in advancing 999 Club’s ambitious plans to enhance its status, reputation, and support among both existing and wider audiences. At this pivotal moment in the charity’s history, the postholder will work closely with the Head of Fundraising and Communications and the Members’ Committee to co-develop and implement a bold new communications and marketing strategy. 

Building on last year’s extensive rebrand, this role will ensure that the voices of those with lived experience remain central to the organisation’s messaging and identity. A key focus will be strengthening internal and external communication, uniting our diverse membership—which includes staff, clients, volunteers, trustees, and supporters—while also reaching new audiences through social media, direct marketing, PR, and media outreach. 

A major priority will be the relaunch and expansion of the 999 Club’s Membership Scheme and Patrons Programme, designed to deepen awareness and support for 999 Club across Southeast London and beyond. Underpinning these efforts, the postholder will manage the Donorfy CRM database and ensure the ongoing maintenance and development of our WordPress website. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES  

• Manage 999 Club’s social media across all major platforms, creating engaging content that amplifies member voices and resonates with wider audiences. 

• Identify and sensitively share compelling stories that inspire support, avoid clichés and reinforce 999 Club’s themes of positivity, progress, and hope. 

• Produce dynamic newsletter content that strengthens reader engagement and drives action. 

• Work with the Head of Fundraising and Communications to eensure that all design and communications align with 999 Club’s brand style, visual identity, and tone of voice. 

• Handle press enquiries and proactively promote 999 Club’s work across media channels. 

• Establish a Patrons Programme that reflects 999 Club’s our unique and diverse character and supports strategic growth. 

• Launch and develop the Membership Scheme, securing partnerships with local businesses in Lewisham and Greenwich to boost visibility and support. 

• Maintain and manage the Donorfy database, ensuring accurate donor records, reporting, and updates. 

• Produce regular reports, data and analytics on social media and website activity to inform strategy.

• Identify opportunities for promotion and outreach, and represent 999 Club at events, festivals, and meetings. 

• Maintain and update the WordPress website, applying best practices in SEO and accessibility. 

• Support colleagues with research, case studies, consultations, and other initiatives.

Qualifications

• Develop and deliver a corporate website portal that highlights the impact of our work and opportunities for how people can become involved.

The Head of Philanthropy will lead the philanthropy team to maximise philanthropic support for the charity with a focus on research, education and innovation and driving long-term growth from key income streams. You will contribute fully as a senior member of the charity's fundraising team, leading and motivating the philanthropy team of 11.  You will also contribute fully as a member of the charity's management group.

The selected candidate will have proven successful major gifts fundraising with a track record in initiating new relationships, securing gifts at the six and seven figure level. You will have experience working in organisations with multiple stakeholders and will have demonstrable experience of preparing and managing annual plans, budgets, and targets. Key Skills and Attributes:

Experience of developing and managing multi-channel fundraising projects is essential using a range of media channels. These include telemarketing, print (supporter magazine, cash appeals, retention mailings, inserts and cold mailings), paid social media, Display, YouTube, PPC  and email.

You’ll need to demonstrate a good level of organisational, time management and project management skills, and show a great attention to detail, leading on the monitoring and reporting of projects.

You’ll provide strong creative thinking, and work alongside the internal Content and Creative teams to ensure that content is accessible, inclusive, and honours our commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion 

You’ll gain support from the Senior Individual Giving Officer on using the latest CRM database and create mailing selection lists and help take part in quarterly reforecasting. And show a good understanding of the both the charity fundraising sector and the climate crisis, in order to keep up with the latest trends and techniques.

The Individual Giving program has evolved hugely over the past few years, with a big increase in our digital activity and collaboration with campaign teams to create compelling and integrated plans. You’ll need to show a  track record of engaging online audiences, with an ability to produce compelling copy and content.

The Individual Giving Officer will manage a selection of projects focused on supporter experience. You will contribute to delivering an annual calendar of communications to maintain the number of active regular and cash giving supporters, providing timely campaign updates, as well as identifying areas to ask for additional financial support.

Knowledge of relevant compliance including Fundraising Code of Practice, CAP code, UK data protection law and complaints handling requirements in relation to individual giving is essential.

Mass Participation Fundraising

• Lead the development of all fundraising products, propositions and community and events, to effectively acquire and engage our mass audience target markets
• Use innovation and donor and market research to help define and shape Winston Wish’s Mass fundraising offer

• Work collaboratively with the Director of Income Generation to develop an approach to Gifts in Wills and legacy marketing

Strategy, Planning and reporting

• Develop and execute bold strategies to grow the charity’s mass participation portfolio, optimising supporter journey and maximising income generation
• Work with the Director of Income Generation and the Head of Mass Participation Fundraising to develop the annual budget, including leading on monthly performance reports and contributing to quarterly reforecasts and reporting against KPI’s and milestones
• Oversee the development of supporter journeys and stewardship of all mass audiences and key community relationships to maximise retention and ensure long-term income growth

Collaboration

• In collaboration with the Marketing Communications team, oversee the development of compelling integrated fundraising acquisition and engagement plans
• Liaise with trustees’ internal stakeholders to develop Mass fundraising activity, and contribute to reporting for trustees and SLT as required
• Manage key agency relationships to deliver successful fundraising

Prostate Cancer Research aims to develop and deliver breakthrough medicines and treatments to achieve a world where people are free from the impact of prostate cancer. The organisation believes that it is only through research that we can build a future in which no family will have to fear losing a loved one to prostate cancer. In the last four years, we have expanded the amount of research it funds by four times. 

Prostate Cancer Research is seeking a an experienced, dynamic and driven Trusts & Statutory Executive. The role will take a lead on identifying and securing collaboration and funding opportunities with both existing and prospective partners, developing and managing a pipeline of funding partners that align with PCR’s mission and core programmes of work. 

Since 2018, PCR has significantly increased income from Trusts & Foundations and Statutory sources, as well as working in collaboration with other medical research charities and non-profits. This is a newly created and integral role within the Partnership Fundraising team to build on this work and will be key to identifying and nurturing relationships with prospective partners and funders, as well as developing and implementing comprehensive partnership strategies to engage existing and prospective partners. 

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience of developing and nurturing relationships with funding partners (with experience of identifying and securing at least five-figure income), understanding complex issues and working with others to identify solutions, and producing compelling funding proposals in support of this work. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build and manage strong, impactful relationships. 

Finally, candidates must have a passion for securing funding that will help improve the lives of people with prostate cancer and a commitment to advancing healthcare through strategic partnerships and collaboration. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Conduct proactive prospecting and qualification of Trusts & Statutory funding opportunities to build a robust pipeline of potential funders. 

• Identify and nurture relationships with prospective Trust & Foundations and Statutory funding partners aligned with the mission and values of PCR. 

• Develop and implement comprehensive partnership strategies to engage existing and prospective funding partners. 

• Stay informed about PCR’s current and future work and translate larger, complex programmes of work into relevant, compelling funding asks.

• Work closely with PCR's delivery departments and other income streams to identify, develop and maximise income generation opportunities. 

• Lead the preparation and submission of funding applications and reports for both existing and prospective funders. 

• Develop compelling, high-quality proposals for new and existing programmes, ensuring they are tailored to each funder’s priorities and aligned with organisational objectives.

• Lead negotiations and secure funding support from funding partners for activities aligned with PCR’s programmes of work. 

• Effectively manage project monitoring and reporting for PCR’s existing funded activities with identified funding partners, including regular communication, reporting, and public recognition of contributions (as appropriate), working closely with PCR’s delivery and communications teams.

• Stay informed of industry trends, giving initiatives, and relevant developments to inform partnership strategies and opportunities.

SLOW is the only charity offering weekly in person and online support groups to bereaved parents and siblings in London and across the UK.

Based in London, SLOW (Surviving the Loss of Your World) has offered emotional and practical support for over eighteen years to bereaved families in the UK that have lost a child in any circumstances. Our unique approach to working with parents and siblings is highly regarded by our members and professionals and we are proud to have won the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.

Our work is centred around regular support groups for bereaved parents, adult siblings and creative workshops for bereaved younger siblings. All our groups are facilitated by trained bereaved parents or siblings. Our members regularly refer to our groups as a ‘lifeline’. Our model of bereavement support is unique and is a direct response to what bereaved parents have told us they need.

SLOW is a registered charity with an income of currently circa £185k. The charity has a stable resource base with a range of income sources – some annual, some on multi-year commitments and other funding resulting from planned and targeted approaches.

Key Responsibilities

• Under the leadership of the Charity Director, the Fundraiser will manage the day-to-day fundraising and support the Charity Director in raising funds and developing SLOW’s income to ensure financial stability. You will assist the Charity Director in achieving the annual income and suggest new revenue streams.
• Working closely with the Charity Director, you will manage, monitor and execute SLOW’s annual financial target through a variety of different revenue streams. You will be supported by SLOW’s Business Management Assistant.
• The Fundraiser is part of a small team of paid and voluntary personnel working to maintain and develop SLOW in accordance with its founding principles and ethos. From time to time the post-holder will be required to take on tasks that are the primary responsibility of another if necessary.

Execute grant applications including: ·

• Researching appropriate grants for applications
• Writing and checking of all grant applications including proposing figures and the provision of all supporting documents
• Responding to queries from funders, including meeting/networking with them where necessary

Detailed Description Grants and Fundraising

• Collating and submitting feedback forms including analysis of expenditure versus grant allocations and membership
• Maintain good relationships with officers of grant making trusts and bodies in order to ensure regular and timely compliance with requirements

Assist with all SLOW fundraising including specifically:

• Managing corporate and private donations, charitable retail schemes and digital fundraising channels
• Work closely with the BMA to set up and administrate sponsored events and other ad hoc fundraising activities

Role Summary

This role will support the expanding team with all engagement activities to ensure that good relationships are maintained with all Alcohol Change UK (ACUK) supporters, beneficiaries and volunteers. The Engagement Officer will undertake administration related to volunteer recruitment and recording of volunteer activities as well as being the first point of contact for the team ensuring ACUK delivers high levels of support to our volunteers. The role will also be responsible for creating content and delivering elements of our engagement communication programme.
