About the role

The Refugee Council’s services strategy is aimed at delivering high impact, sustainable services that are centred on the needs of people seeking asylum and refugees in the UK, and improving the system of support that they rely on for their safety and future lives in local communities. We seek to significantly improve early access to information, advice and support for people seeking asylum and refugees in crisis and those seeking to integrate into the UK.

In December 2023, with consultancy support, we designed an exciting youth service strategy with a delivery model centred around children’s needs and with the vision for change on how separated children and young people are treated in their asylum journey by creating holistic casework, high quality joined up relationships across the organisation, collaboration with local partners and supporters through learning and sharing best practice to transform their experience and bring systemic change.

The Age Dispute work sits within the Youth Casework team, and we seek to deepen the impact by supporting more children and young people now dispersed across England and who are wrongly age assessed of assumed as over 18 by the Home Office and/or by the local authorities. The age disputes casework adviser will bring expertise to provide specialist casework to challenge incorrect age assessments, use experience to deal and prioritise high risk cases, work with various stakeholders including legal representatives, statutory agencies, and collaborate with others in sector to develop, learn and share best practice resources in casework provision. The postholder will maintain an understanding of the changing practice in relation to age assessments in particular and the wider policy landscape, work with colleagues in the Youth Services and in consultation with the Youth Services Manager, liaise with other relevant Refugee Council teams, including advocacy, practice development, youth involvement, In-Form to use casework evidence to address inequities in policy and practice.

Based within the Youth Services of the Refugee Council, the Age Disputes Casework Adviser will be responsible for:

• Working with children and young people to understand their experiences and needs.
• Working closely with other Age Disputes Casework Advisers and the Youth Services Manager to identify and review high risk and complex cases that need prioritising and create effective internal case triage and allocation systems.
• Liaising with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure that the needs of young people with disputed age are recognised and met.
• Identifying age assessment policy and practice issues impacting on the lives of separated children for possible action via strategic litigation with legal representatives and advocacy colleagues.
• Maintaining expert casework knowledge and understanding of the environment and barriers that separated children seeking asylum face in with regards to the assessment of their age, and issues related to access to high quality information, advice and legal representation on immigration, asylum and welfare, and always learning and sharing the knowledge with others.

The North West England Methodist District (NWED) is seeking to appoint a District Property Secretary. The role is home-based, with travel throughout the District. They will be the first point of contact on all matters relating to property and will work in collaboration with the churches and circuits within the District, providing oversight of the properties owned by the District. The post holder will give support and assistance to a range of stakeholders on property-related matters, in the context of Methodist Church governance.

The Programme Officer (PO) will be part of a five-person team, working under the direction of the Senior Programme Manager to advance the Foundation’s advocacy and creative work across and around our three thematic areas. • Contribute to the design, delivery, synthesis, monitoring and evaluation of our online and in-person advocacy events, working with the Creative Lead to ensure full integration of creativity into our work.
• As a member of the Core CPF Team, contribute to the planning and delivery of the Foundation’s flagship biennial event, the Commonwealth People’s Forum.
• Support the planning, delivery and evaluation of our engagement in other Commonwealth and global policy spaces.

The role is offered on a part-time, 4 day week basis (0.8 FTE) with a salary of £36,050 pro rata per annum.

Purpose of the role

You will hold a caseload of survivors and work as part of our duty team on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support.

You will have the ability to encourage user engagement with the service through proactive contact. Maintain project logs and collate data from the logs for Team Managers. Proactively assess the needs and safety of any children that women using the service may have. About the role:

This is a vital and high-profile role for us and requires a person with strong technical skills and the power of independent thought; meticulous organisational skills and attention to detail; and drive to constantly develop new and improved ways of working. The Financial Controller will be mainly responsible for ensuring the highest standards of financial control are met across Ark, its subsidiaries and the various external ventures Ark supports. Within this, the role will be responsible for the processing and reporting of financial accounting data for Ark and its related entities, day-to-day cash flow management and compliant statutory returns (including VAT).

Key Responsibilities:

• Staff management including training and regular appraisals. The team currently consists of two Finance Officers. Also supporting two business partners.
• Provide up-to-date financial information and technical advice to Ark management and the Venture teams, including cash management.
• Lead the year-end process, including creation of annual accounts for Ark and its related entities (excluding Ark Schools) and overseeing the audits.
• First review of monthly management accounts.
• Take responsibility for the year-end audit and preparation/supervision of draft statutory accounts for the Group and 5 subsidiary entities in accordance with Charities SORP, Companies Act and UK GAAP. Liaise with auditors and ensure timetable and deadlines are met

• Relationship owner for Lloyds (banker), including set-up of Commercial Banking Online and credit cards in accordance with the Scheme of Delegation. Responsible for maintaining all bank accounts and mandates.
• Responsibility for writing and maintaining finance policies and processes, including the financial Scheme of Delegation, and ensuring these are freely available to all relevant staff.
• Accounts Payable Lead ensuring all suppliers are paid on time. Responsible for processing weekly BACs runs and authorisations in line with the Scheme of Delegation.
• Manage insurance provision for the Ark Group.

Key Requirements:

• Right to work in the UK.

About CoppaFeel!

CoppaFeel! are the UK’s only youth focused breast cancer awareness charity, and we’re on a mission to get every 18-24 year old checking their chest. We educate people on the signs of breast cancer and encourage them to check their chests monthly, so that if they notice something unusual they are empowered to contact their GP and advocate for themselves.

We do this because when diagnosed early, breast cancer treatments are more effective and survival rates are higher. Early detection can save lives.

Breast cancer does not need to be detected late, and as long as we are here and continue to be supported by people like you, we will do all we can to make sure this doesn’t continue to happen.

The Role

CoppaFeel! is looking for a Head of Public Fundraising who will be responsiblefor leading an emerging department at CoppaFeel! that holds both historic and new income streams. 

With an ambitious team, we need someone in this role to engage a diverse audience and raise vital funds to save lives.

You will oversee acquisition and stewardship, maximising income from audiences including individual giving, community, gaming, lottery, legacy and in-memory giving. You will lead in developing and delivering the public fundraising strategy. With a recent review of public fundraising at CoppaFeel!, you will be key in the support and development of unrestricted income, as we invest in new fundraising products, marketing campaigns and growth.

This department is important to our growth at CoppaFeel! and it is an exciting time to join as we are committed to investing in new income streams and need a dynamic, driven leader to drive them forward. You would be able to shape this department and role the way you see it moving forward at CoppaFeel!.

The Head of Public Fundraising will sit within the Fundraising team and report to the Director of Fundraising. You will have a team of 3, with 2 direct reports. 

This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that you will attend the London office 2 days per week. You will be required to attend the office for quarterly team meetings, department meetings and in person training, we will provide plenty of notice for when you are required to be in for these purposes.

Duties & Responsibilities

Strategy

• Develop and deliver strategies to secure donations from individual donors, driving repeat gifts and income to meet your annual target and agreed KPI’s.
• Use your expertise in multi-channel fundraising including digital, direct mail, email and social media.
• Oversee and expand our fundraising initiatives including DIY fundraising, lottery, gaming, legacy, and fundraising appeals across all marketing channels to increase number of donors and donations and boosting average donation values.
• Understand and advocate for supporters, inspiring them to engage and donate, ensuring our thanking and engagement strategies encourage repeat giving.
• Develop new fundraising products ensuring our donor profiling analysis sits at the heart of new development.
• Ensure ROI and key performance metrics are used to make evidence based decisions.
• Work closely with Heads of Department to deliver the CoppaFeel! strategy.

Leadership

• Work within the leadership team to maintain the CoppaFeel! culture reflecting and championing the organisations values of positivity, creativity, community and impact.
• Work closely with all Heads of Departments to collaborate on projects and stay across the direction of all teams.
• Lead and inspire the Individual Giving Manager and Digital Fundraising Manager to meet their objectives and live the CoppaFeel! Values.
• Work with the Director of Fundraising and leadership in fundraising to set the ways of working and high performance of the team.
• Champion public fundraising across CoppaFeel! helping to develop a fundraising culture at the organisation.

Management

• Manage and support the Individual Giving Manager, Digital Fundraising Manager and oversee the Individual Giving Assistant, ensuring they have annual performance reviews, learning and development plans, KPI’s, and are supported to meet their fundraising targets.
• Responsible for the knowledge of regulation relevant to individual giving and public fundraising including GDPR and the Fundraising Regulator Code of Fundraising Practice.
• Manage and oversee compelling fundraising communications and targeting external audiences using a range of direct response channels.
• Oversee the management of our new gaming fundraising strategy.
• Develop and oversee new fundraising products, including launching a new celebrity led fundraising initiative.
• Oversee and continue to develop our new legacy fundraising initiatives at CoppaFeel! ensuring we are stewarding legacy pledgers and legacy partners.
• Work with the Head of Finance on budgeting, reporting, re-forecasting income and ROI.
• Produce progress reports as required to the Director of Fundraising.

Administration 

• Develop dashboards with the Database Executive for ease of reporting KPI’s for Public Fundraising at CoppaFeel!.
• Ensure systems are kept up to date including Beacon CRM, and CoppaFeel! shared Google drive.
• Excellent record keeping at all times of public fundraising campaigns and communications on the CoppaFeel! shared Google drive.
• Keep diary and shared calendar up-to-date, shared communications across the organisation including desk booking systems, People HR, Weekly Round Up and contribute to team meetings.
• Ensure excellent financial records are kept including invoicing, contracts for suppliers, cheques and cash collections, and team expenses, following CoppaFeel! finance policies.

At Youth Action Alliance (YAA), our mission is to support the personal and social development (their values, beliefs, ideas and skills) of the young people living in Kensington and Chelsea, enabling them to increase their resilience and skills in the present and promote their ambitions for the future. To do this we are looking to appoint a Business Support Officer to provide a range of financial support duties and administer the organisation’s general ledger and finance system.

This post will provide high-quality support to the technology and operations of the organisation, to ensure the smooth running of the main site and enable YAA to meet and deliver on its core objectives and obligations. The Digital Officer is a key member of the Marketing and Digital team. We are a friendly, creative, and supportive team, responsible for raising awareness and growing the brand of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, as well as our website, email, social, direct mail, paid advertising and more. As Digital Officer you'll work closely with Marketing and digital colleagues, as well as fundraising teams across the organisation. It is also an exciting time to join our digital team, as this role will begin part way through a redevelopment of our website. • Professional experience using CMS (Content Management Systems) and knowledge of website management, on-page and technical SEO and digital best practice. Knowledge of UX is desirable but not essential.
• Experience using data tools, such as Google Analytics for reporting and identifying actionable insights.
• Excellent copywriting, editorial and proofreading skills.
• Experience in writing for the web or digital channels and creating content tailored to a variety of audiences.
• Ability to communicate, work collaboratively and build good working relationships.

SLRA is a well established local migrant support organisation working alongside refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants who are at risk or in crisis due to immigration issues. Our committed, supportive team works alongside local volunteers to provide a range of services including advice and casework, supportive group sessions, youth casework and activities for families and young people. 

We are looking for a Youth Caseworker to work alongside young refugees, asylum seekers and other young migrants who are at risk or in crisis, to ensure that they can access their statutory rights and achieve their full potential. The Youth Caseworker will provide holistic casework, advice and practical support to young people aged 14 to 24 years, working closely with statutory and voluntary organisations to ensure that the immediate and longer-term needs of young people are met.
