About the Role:

This role is a hybrid working role and is based at our office in Shoreham-by-Sea for a minimum of one day a week. As a Senior Caseworker in the Hate Crime Team you will:

• Effectively lead and develop a high quality, innovative and pro-active hate crime service for victims and witnesses.
• Manage a team of specialist hate crime caseworkers, providing regular supervision, case management review and support.
• Have experience in working with vulnerable adults and/or families
• Ensure that services are delivered in accordance with the service specification and performance targets set by the services funders, in line with Victim Support's policies, procedures, business process and plan.
• Ensure that the service prioritises the safety, security and dignity of service users.
• Provide advice and guidance on risk, safeguarding issues and information sharing GDPR concerns.
• Have a successful track record of building effective working relationships across internal and external stakeholders.

About the Role

The primary role of a Family Support Worker is to provide effective, efficient, and supportive service to children and their mothers residing in refuge with Solace Women’s Aid. The staff member will lead on the development of a child and family-centered approach to work in the refuge. In so doing, they will:

• Develop and deliver a range of trauma-informed services to children and young people (0-16 years) and their mothers within the refuge and when they are resettled into the community
• Ensure the completion of comprehensive assessments of family needs and risk of families, ensuring an integrated approach with children and adult services (internal and external)
• Ensure ongoing development of age-appropriate children activities
• Promote ‘Integrated Working’ through internal and external mechanisms in partnership with colleagues and community partnerships
• Coordinate the delivery of activities through session staff, volunteers, and student placements

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience of working with vulnerable children, young people, and/or families, as well as knowledge of the effects that domestic abuse can have on young people.

About the role

The role sits within a Critical Time Intervention (CTI) team working across Liverpool City Region.

Contract: 12 month fixed term contract, family leave cover

CTI is part of a housing-led response to ending homelessness. CTI is an evidence-based model, designed for times of transition for people who require support to navigate often fragmented systems. It uses a time limited case management approach to support people through a period of transition which works towards preventing and ending homelessness.

The model is strictly time limited and prescriptive in its application and Crisis’ CTI pilot will run close to the CTI principles. The timing of movement through the phases is defined by the Programme model.

CTI consists of four main phases:

1. Pre CTI: in which the relationship with the client is developed and their goals and ambitions are identified, (no timescale – could be days, months or years)
2. Transition:  providing support & beginning to connect client to people and agencies that will assume the primary role of support and enable them to meet their goals (3 months)
3. Try out: monitoring and strengthening support network and client’s skills (3 months)
4. Transfer of care: terminating CTI and stepping right back (3 months)

The post holder will be working within the framework of CTI, supporting prison leavers from prison into accommodation, thus preventing homelessness on release from custody.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have experience of delivering person centred support with statutory and non-statutory services within the criminal justice system, offering coaching and mentoring, learning support and/or personal development training, ideally working to matrix standards.  You will also have an appreciation of delivering this within a time limited framework.

You will demonstrate knowledge of issues affecting homeless or vulnerably housed individuals which could include mental illness, addiction, the benefit system and housing. Being committed to empowering homeless and vulnerably housed individuals is essential to this role.

Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that you have a valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Nursery Practitioner

The Downs Malvern are looking to recruit multiple Nursery Practitioners to be part of our brand new Mini Malvern Nursery for children aged 6 months and up.

The nursery comprises three bright, modern classrooms and two outdoor gardens with adventure play areas, in addition to accessing The Downs Malvern’s beautiful 55-acre site, including a Forest School and a smallholding with pigs, quail, chickens, and sheep.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting our youngest children and will work closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure the Nursery provision remains at a consistently high standard. You will have a deep knowledge of Early Years Education and a willingness to nurture and support children in their early development.

This role is on a full time basis, 40 hours per week. Mini Malvern is open from 8 am to 6 pm, 49 weeks a year. We close for bank holidays, as well as one week at Easter, one week in August, and one week at Christmas.

About the Role

We have a fantastic opportunity to join Sense's engagement team at this exciting time, as Head of National Events. You will be leading the National Events team to deliver against Sense’s ambitious strategy, inspiring and supporting the team. This Includes: 

• Support of a £1Million plus London Marathon Event
• Support the Event Managers in delivering 2 new bespoke events 

You will drive the creation of a national events strategy to ensure a balanced portfolio of challenge events and support innovation, and creative thinking to further drive income growth and lifetime value across the events portfolio at Sense, delivering impact for people with complex disabilities. 

Key Responsibilities

Leadership

• Lead, motivate and inspire the Events team, a team of 4 at present
• To carry out the relevant people management for the team including recruitment, annual appraisals, motivating performance, management of sickness absence and, where necessary, applying HR policies and procedures
• As part of the Engagement Leadership Team, work with peers to provide inspirational leadership to the broader Engagement Directorate
• Collaborate with colleagues across the Engagement Directorate and wider organisation including Digital, Trading, and Volunteering, to deliver fully integrated supporter engagement activities
• There will be a requirement for travel and to work unsociable hours at events with occasional overnight stays in the UK

Strategy development and implementation

• Lead on the development of a National Events' three-year strategy and operational plan to drive growth and create a balanced portfolio of Event offerings
• Oversee the delivery of in-year National Events plans including all marketing and stewardship activities to ensure budgets and targets are achieved
• Manage the Events budgets, ensuring net income is achieved and appropriate mitigation plans are in place where necessary
• Review and interpret research and data to make evidence-based decisions that improve activities within the Events portfolio 
• Produce regular reports on progress against the strategy with the delivery of key performance indicators for the Associate Director of Public Fundraising, Group Director of Engagement, CEO, Executive Team, Trustees and other stakeholders as required
• Contribute to the development of the Sense brand by ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality supporter engagement materials that are accessible to all
• Contribute to the development and implementation of the Engagement strategy, ensuring supporters are inspired to actively participate in helping improve the lives of people living with complex needs

• Extensive experience in managing challenge event fundraising teams in a charity, with a strong track record of generating growth in participation and income
• Experience in creating and bringing to market new events – from inception to launch and review
• Experience in leading a team, including facilitating high-performance and staff development
• Experience in managing stakeholders at all levels and dealing with external contacts/suppliers
• Experience in engaging with colleagues and to bring them on board in line with set targets
• Ability to see opportunities and challenge convention to make improvements to how Sense delivers events
• Demonstrable experience of setting and achieving ambitious growth targets
• Demonstrable experience in using CRM and data to identify and harness actionable insight
• Experience in developing and implementing National Event strategies and plans

Salary: Salary Band 2.1- Unqualified £27,582.75 - £29,174.06 per annum

The Enfield SASS team provides advocacy and support to survivors of domestic and sexual abuse living in Enfield. An exciting opportunity has arisen in this busy team for an IDVA within the Domestic Abuse team to be collocated across Edmonton police station.

The successful candidate will be responsible for risk and needs assessing and safety planning with survivors of domestic violence. They will hold a caseload of service users identified as requiring crisis intervention, advice, advocacy and onward referral where appropriate and be part of a team managing referrals and initial assessments.

About the role

Sightsavers’ work in the field of education is driven by the principle of inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all. We are looking for a Global Technical Lead – Inclusive Education to provide technical leadership and expertise in inclusive education to guide the development and delivery of specific initiatives and programmes.

As the Global Technical Lead for Inclusive Education, you will support Sightsavers to promote inclusive education for children, youth, and adults with disabilities in education systems in West Africa, East, Central and Southern Africa (ECSA), and South Asia. Working across multiple countries, you will ensure that disability inclusion is at the centre of conceptualisation, design and implementation of Sightsavers’ projects.

Strong communication skills in English and French are essential for this role, as is the availability to travel 12-16 weeks a year, nationally and internationally.

Principal accountabilities will include:

• To provide technical leadership and expertise in inclusive education at the programmatic level
• To strengthen the global programme portfolio in inclusive education through leading strategic and technical inputs in proposal development for funding opportunities.
• To pioneer new strategic initiatives and innovative approaches in inclusive education to improve and enhance the quality of Sightsavers’ work, especially in cross-cutting priority areas like climate action, gender equity and the use of data and evidence.
• To contribute to the research, innovation, policy, advocacy and communications agendas through close collaboration with interdepartmental teams and key external stakeholders.
• To undertake senior level representation of Sightsavers as an expert in inclusive education at national, regional and international professional and sector-specific networks, platforms, conferences and meeting

This is an ideal opportunity to build on your existing expertise in leading and developing programmes in inclusive education in lower income countries. We are looking for a skilled communicator with the ability to build strong working relationships across different departments and work collaboratively as a member of our cross-functional teams.  To succeed in this role, you will need:

• A Postgraduate qualification (minimum Master’s) or equivalent experience in a relevant field, e.g. education, special needs education; disability, international development
• Business to fluent French language skills
• A proven record of leading, developing and implementing programmes in inclusive education in lower income countries.
• Experience of working with national governments and international institutions such as Global Partnership for Education, UN agencies, bilateral agencies as well as non-state actors to contribute to education system transformation.
• Knowledge of current developments, issues and best practice in inclusive education to effectively address the barriers to education for children with disabilities
• Able to travel for up to 12-16 weeks a year (regional and international).
