Recently our members voted to create a new u3a Council to act as a conduit between the national body and the over 1000 independent u3as throughout the UK. The new Council will be the vehicle by which members’ views and priorities will feed into and shape the overall work of the u3a national body. 

The Council Officer will support the implementation and running of the new u3a Council and play an integral role in embedding the Council into the existing structures of the Trust. They will work with the CEO and the Council Chair to ensure the Council has the support and resources it requires. The role will bring external ideas into the movement by identifying research, reports and speakers that might help inform its work. The officer will also prepare reports, agendas, minutes and be responsible for the general administration of the council and its working groups. 

The role would suit someone with an interest in community engagement and participation or policy and research in these areas. The right candidate will be able to work flexibly across a range of responsibilities and develop and implement ways of working as the Council develops, whilst having the ability to work with and manage a large group of volunteer's wide range of views and opinions.

About the Role

As Mental Health and Wellbeing Manager you will help promote positive mental health coping strategies and the overall wellbeing of clients through various practices that ultimately empower people to take control of their own mental health and wellbeing. 

You will take the lead on developing creative and innovative initiatives that contribute to positive mental health outcomes and personal wellbeing in every aspect of your work.  These initiatives will be based on the Endeavour principle of co-production where we will take an asset-based approach focussing on what is strong in people and the spaces and communities we operate in.

Key responsibilities include:

· Developing resources, workshops and reflective practice training for clients, staff and volunteers

· Supporting teams to navigate mental health services and improve client advocacy

· Building psychologically informed environments (PIEs) across Depaul spaces

About You

This is a strategic, empowering role suited to someone with a deep commitment to mental health and social impact. You’ll bring a strong understanding of the intersection between homelessness and mental health, as well as experience supporting individuals with complex needs.

To succeed, you will have:

· Experience and demonstrable understanding of challenges faced by people facing homelessness, and in particular of issues facing people with mental health challenges

· Working knowledge of mental health policy, services and community resources

· Strong facilitation and training skills (e.g. TIP, ACT, WRAP, ASIST)

How are staff supported to work remotely?

About the Role

The Head of Fundraising will be a key member of our Senior Management Team (SMT) and take ownership of our Fundraising Strategy to support the diversification of our income. This role is vital to our future growth and sustainability, and an opportunity to lead an exciting part of the charity which makes a real difference to the students we support.

Strategy and Leadership

• Lead the delivery of our fundraising strategy in line with our current organisational strategy which runs from 2024-2029. 
• Lead on the management of key information about Get Further’s fundraising activity and ensure it is stored appropriately, well organised and with high attention to detail. This will include supporting the transition of the fundraising function onto Salesforce.
• Prepare fundraising update reports for the Finance and Risk Committee and the Board of Trustees as required.

Fundraising and Stakeholder Engagement

• Lead the core fundraising activities, including line managing our Fundraising Officer. This includes developing an in-depth understanding of existing and potential supporters to provide tailored relationship management, including engagement opportunities, to meet significant targets over multiple years.
• Support the Fundraising Officer to identify new prospects, in particular, charitable trusts and foundations that have the potential to support Get Further for the first time. You will effectively qualify and engage with prospects to build a pipeline for the coming years, matching prospects with appropriate asks.
• Oversee and write compelling applications for funding that are tailored to each recipient and make a convincing case for how their support with help more young people achieve their gateway qualifications.
• Lead on ensuring all supporters and donors receive updates and reports within the required timeframes and that these are crafted with impact data and case studies to ensure maximum stakeholder engagement.

Team Management and Collaboration

• Provide effective line management of our Fundraising Officer to support their personal development and successful delivery of their role.
• Work closely with the COO to develop budgets to accompany applications and provide financial reports to funders and partners.
• Work closely with the Impact Team to develop efficient processes for impact reporting to funders.
• Support the COO to ensure that policies relating to fundraising are up to date and fit for purpose.

What you’ll do

The Instructional Design Specialist will play a vital role in an agile, innovative team focused on developing and delivering cutting-edge digital learning solutions for frontline clinicians and therapists. This role blends instructional design, content strategy, technology, and user experience to create engaging, evidence-based mental health training. You will contribute to the development of a market-leading portfolio of accessible, high-quality short course training in child and adolescent mental health. You will support the expansion of a comprehensive, flexible learning experience for professionals working with children and families across diverse settings. You will proactively and independently collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure content credibility. You will also foster an inclusive learning environment by embedding Anna Freud’s values of equity, diversity, and inclusion, while staying informed on emerging EdTech trends and technologies.

What you’ll bring

You will have a keen interest and background in psychology or mental health, along with proven expertise in instructional design, curriculum development, and multimedia content creation, with the ability to engage stakeholders and provide innovative solutions to learning challenges.

You will have demonstrable well-developed skills in: 

• content commissioning and curation with the ability to translate complex subject matter into engaging and accessible digital content; video production and editing,
• using tools such Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or similar, for multimedia digital learning content.

You will also demonstrate: 

• expertise in curriculum development and instructional design, including structuring learning experiences and applying learning theories;
• knowledge of online learning environments, including Learning Management Systems (LMS) and authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline and Adobe Captivate;
• a background in psychology or a related field to support the development of learning resources tailored to the mental health and education sector;
• a degree or postgraduate qualification in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience, with knowledge of psychology and/or mental health.

Key details

Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week); usual working hours Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00. Flexible working is possible. 

Salary: £48,000 per annum FTE, plus 6% contributory pension scheme

Location: Hybrid working (a mixture of onsite and home/remote working). Staff are working onsite for at least 20% of their working hours, at our London site (4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH). 

Contract type: Fixed-term (12 months in the first instance but with scope to extend).

How are staff supported to work remotely? 
VoiceAbility has a small number of offices. Employees including Team Leaders are homebased for Administration and meetings will be held online as well as in person in the relevant community.

Job Information

We have received funding from The National Lottery Community Fund to deliver an exciting new programme, aiming to improve the experience and continuity of hospice care for young people with life-limiting conditions transitioning from children's to adult services.

You will provide clinical leadership of this UK-wide programme, empowering young people, hospices and system partners to overcome the inequities of care experienced by patients and families throughout this transition. 

You will become a crucial part of the Programmes Directorate at Hospice UK. This team is responsible for areas of real relevance and importance to our hospices’ membership, including: commissioning support; data, research and evidence; clinical and non-clinical projects; learning platforms: sharing good practice; and a well-regarded and commercially successful portfolio of conferences, including our flagship national conference.

You will bring the clinical leadership needed to deliver this exciting new programme. You will lead our young person’s forum and provide invaluable mentorship to hospices. Supported throughout by our Senior Programme Manager and Team Administrator, you will further develop our Transition Community of Practice and help us collate and share programme data across the sector. You will lead on partnerships and strategic relationships, with Together for Short Lives and other decision-makers across our sector. When representing Hospice UK and our programme externally, you will offer clinical expertise leadership within the field of Transition. 

You will have senior palliative care experience, working in the field of transition. You will have led clinical programmes across systems and/or regions, and experience supporting organisations with Quality Improvement projects. You will be an excellent and influential communicator, who embraces working with data while maintaining a strategic overview.
