About the role
Sightsavers is currently seeking an experienced Evidence Uptake and Learning individual to join our team and manage a range of research evidence uptake and learning activities across the organisation. This role is key in ensuring that evidence from research and other data sources is easily accessible, appropriately stored, and used by different stakeholders within and outside Sightsavers.
High quality evidence and evidence uptake are critical for our programmes and advocacy. We hold an independent research organisation status by UK Research and Innovation and make significant investments in generating evidence from research, evaluations and routine programme systems.
The post holder will work closely with different teams across the organisation to ensure that effective user-friendly mechanisms and systems for evidence uptake and learning are in place and widely used.
Further duties include:

Manage and continuously improve existing mechanisms for consolidation, storage and sharing of research evidence produced at Sightsavers, including evidence trackers, dashboards, websites, and online libraries.

Facilitate dissemination of Sightsavers research internally to support learning; organise learning seminars and workshops; produce and disseminate the Research team’s bi-monthly newsletter.

Manage the curation of content for a research evidence library and produce a bi-monthly research evidence newsletter to facilitate the use of research evidence across the organisation.

Working closely with the Communications team, develop new approaches and tools to disseminate research evidence, such as visual abstracts, videos, podcasts, etc., to reach wider audiences and enhance the content of the research centre website.

Contribute to the development of technical documents to disseminate research results, such as research summaries, peer-reviewed publications, policy briefs and blogs.

Contribute to the implementation of Sightsavers’ strategic organisational learning framework, including the design and piloting of processes and tools to embed learning in projects.

Contribute to the consolidation of evidence to feed into Sightsavers’ thematic learning questions, improving organisational understanding of key thematic challenges and ensuring the learning informs programme design and adaptation.
Skills and Experience
As the successful candidate you will have a relevant Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience, possess knowledge of research and evaluation methodologies, and be able to travel internationally for up to 12 weeks during the contracted period.

Main Areas of Responsibility
This is a brand-new position which will play a pivotal role in helping to transform our learning and development initiatives to a centralised model as well as streamlining our onboarding, induction and wider retention initiatives for staff across the Federation.
As the central Learning & Development Manager, you will oversee a centralised L&D offering which supports all job types and staff groups in the Federation and ensure high quality training is delivered to develop our staff. You will oversee the creation and curating of learning content and opportunities helping our staff to identify opportunities for development and progression.
The role will involve supporting the Head of Talent Acquisition in delivering a cohesive approach to staff training and a longer-term strategy for learning and development which is aligned with our Federation goals. You will successfully implement our learning and education programmes, ensuring Harris Federation has a competent and well-trained workforce capable of delivering our operational, statutory, and professional performance targets.
Qualifications & Experience

We are excited to be supporting our client, a prestigious London based University, in their search for a temporary, part time, Learning Technologist to support the development of their new Archaeology course.
This role will be starting from early February 2025 and run for 4 months in the first instance. This is a part time role, for 2 days per week. It will be mainly remote, however you will be required to travel to London and Brighton for key meetings approximately once or twice per month.
This role will be essential to the building of their new course in the university VLE, which is a Moodle based platform. How you will make a difference

Who are we?
St. John's is a non-maintained specialist provision, working with autistic people, the majority of whom also have learning disabilities. Some of our learners have co-occurring conditions such as epilepsy, hearing or visual impairments, or mental health needs. We also support autistic learners who have an additional profile of Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) syndrome. We have a team built up of support workers, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, nurses, PBS practitioners, assistant psychologists, and more, to support us in our holistic approach to development.

ISEAL is looking for an experienced MEL professional to build and deliver its organisational M&E function, work closely with other areas of the organisation on MEL related activities, and convene a community of practice on MEL.
This new role will lead on a range of MEL related activities, from supporting the upcoming ISEAL strategic plan development and putting in place appropriate systems to monitor progress, to ensuring the organisation is making best use of available data to draw out learning and to measure results. Working closely with internal leads across a range of workstreams, the role will support in designing programme evaluations and outcome monitoring tools and processes. With colleagues from relevant focus areas, the MEL Manager will co-deliver learning at ISEAL.
Another important component of this role (roughly 30-40%) will be working with ISEAL’s Membership and Credibility team to support member organisations in implementing the ISEAL Code and ISEAL membership requirements related to MEL. The MEL Manager will be the content lead for ISEAL’s training events on M&E topics and will co-lead the M&E Community of Practice, a peer learning space for ISEAL Community members.
We are looking for someone with a range of expertise in MEL across different organisations, with a strong preference for specific experience with sustainability systems or standard organisations or comparable settings. The ideal candidate will thrive on delivering effective MEL activities in a standalone role, as well as bringing the expertise and training or facilitation skills necessary to advise others and support peer learning on related topics. - Ensure learning and recommendations on MEL are documented, disseminated and considered when designing new projects or programmes
- Manage the delivery and continual improvement of selected MEL activities and systems, including leading necessary data collection, management, analysis, visualization, and reporting
- Support colleagues across different teams to design and conduct surveys and programme/project evaluations, and to develop performance and outcome monitoring indicators and systems

Experience, Knowledge and Attributes
- Range of experience in MEL roles, ideally including experience in a sustainability system, or in a not-for profit, professional or compliance-based membership organisation
- Prior experience with donor funded projects and programmes, including MEL frameworks and development and implementation of log frames
- Demonstrated ability in a wide range of MEL related activities including theory of change, survey design, MEL and research methodologies, and the development of indicators and related data monitoring systems
- Strong quantitative data collection, management and analysis skills, including the ability to present visual insights using tools such as Excel and Power BI
- Ability to work independently, while building strong relationships with colleagues and other stakeholders
