To help more students get further, we are seeking a driven and passionate Programme Coordinator to join our growing team, responsible for ensuring that our tutoring programme is delivered effectively and that students receive high-quality tuition from their tutors.

HELPING STUDENTS GET FURTHER  

One in three students leave school each year without a pass in GCSE English and maths - this rises to over one in two for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Without GCSEs in English and maths, these young people are significantly more likely to drop out of education and are locked out of key professions, apprenticeships, and university courses.

Get Further exists to change this. Our charity has an award-winning tuition programme that helps students from disadvantaged backgrounds in further education to pass GCSEs in English or maths. We place highly qualified, specialist English and maths tutors in further education, who deliver a bespoke curriculum that builds confidence and skills in these core subjects.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

As a Programme Coordinator, you will work directly with Programme Managers to build and manage positive relationships, respond to and resolve queries and act as the first point of contact across our three main stakeholder groups: students, tutors, and college staff.

The key outcomes for this role are:

Students: Across the academic year you will be responsible for a portfolio of up to 300 students, ensuring that they maintain engagement with tutoring and that all available spaces on your programmes are filled.

Tutors: You will lead the task management of tutors who deliver to the students in your portfolio, ensuring that the tutors deliver high-quality tutoring to small groups of students and that attendance to sessions is consistently high.

College staff: You will build relationships with staff across colleges in your portfolio, to ensure logistics are smooth, programmes are launched effectively and on time, and that we maintain regular communication and reporting with our college partners on programme delivery.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Programme Coordination

• Planning and preparation for each programme within your portfolio of college partnerships, ensuring that programmes are launched on time and with smooth logistics.
• Timetabling sessions, matching tutors based in your region to available sessions in your portfolio and recording timetables in shift scheduling software (Shiftbase).
• Managing data, keeping up-to-date records, and monitoring attendance and completion of baseline and final assessment and survey data through our CRM system (Salesforce).
• Prioritising safeguarding and the safety of the young people we work with, including following every element of safeguarding policy without fail.

Communication and Marketing

• Promoting the tuition programme to students onsite across the college campuses in your portfolio, ensuring that all available spaces (up to 300) are filled across the duration of the programme.
• Developing new approaches to maximise student engagement with tutoring, identifying quickly what the most effective strategies are for the students who attend the colleges in your portfolio.
• Ensuring effective, regular communication with the tutors who deliver to students in your portfolio, including responding to queries in a timely manner, and signposting tutors to additional development opportunities within Get Further

Relationship-building

• Working closely with college staff, to ensure that our tuition programme runs effectively. This includes programme preparations, particularly on logistics, ensuring that plans are in place to ensure that rooms have been identified for tutoring, that tutors are able to access these rooms, and that resources are available onsite.
• Maintaining effective working relationships with key college staff, keeping them up to date on programme developments, and reporting to them on attendance and impact on a regular basis.
• Supporting timely data collection on our delivery and impact from our FE partners and producing impact reports for each partnership in your portfolio.

Task Management

• Overseeing the successful delivery of tasks that Lead Tutors are responsible for, including monitoring their progress against attendance call KPIs, and providing them with support to ensure attendance to tuition sessions is consistently high across your portfolio of colleges. From time to time, you may be required to assist with the delivery of attendance calls to students, providing extra capacity to ensure that engagement with tuition is sustained for the duration of the programme.
• Holding regular touch-point meetings with your Lead Tutors to ensure that they are on track a
• Maintaining high standards across the delivery of tuition in your portfolio, carrying out session observations and providing feedback to tutors.

Championing Get Further

• Working closely with the wider Get Further Team to ensure that we achieve our charity’s mission and strategic priorities.
• Ensuring accuracy in your record keeping and data input, so that Get Further can effectively report and evaluate its programmes to achieve positive system change for students in further education.
• Representing Get Further's vision and values at external events and meetings with stakeholders.

Job Purpose

The Tutor Coordinator will be involved in the tutor's journey from attraction right through to becoming a graduate and alumni of Tutors United. This will involve assisting with the processes of tutor recruitment, training and observations, alongside working with tutor timetables and allocating tutors to our various sites. The Tutor Coordinator ensures that tutors are
well supported in their role, including assisting tutors to provide a safe teaching environment by following safeguarding procedures, supporting tutors’ mental health through wellbeing initiatives, and helping tutors to be the best they can in their delivery of high quality lessons.

The Tutor Coordinator is a varied role, which represents the many different aspects of the tutor's involvement in and importance to Tutors United. The Tutor Coordinator will be working alongside the wider Programmes and Tutor Teams, with a focus on working with tutors within day-to-day operations.

What the job involves

The Health Information Coordinator is a vital role supporting a busy team that creates health information and communications for men who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer or those at high risk of developing it.

You’ll have the opportunity to play a key role in keeping all the health information on the website up-to-date and in line with the Patient Information Forum’s PIF TICK quality standard. As well as coordinating and editing the team’s social media communications. Supporting the promotion of our resources both internally and externally, you’ll help to evaluate the effectiveness of the service we provide.

The role is responsible for making sure all our health information publications are in stock, so we deliver an effective health information service for men and their families affected by prostate cancer. You’ll also develop and maintain administrative systems to support the team’s work including financial processing.

We’re looking for a pro-active and highly organised person to join our team. You’ll be self-motivated and able to multi-task, supporting a busy team while keeping on top of your own projects. You’ll have experience of communicating in plain English across multiple platforms including social media and our website. We’re recruiting 2 new Pathway Coordinators to join our Wellbeing Collaborative Team, who will work with us over the next 12 months as we work closely with our health and local authority colleagues to develop new ways of working in the acute and reablement hospitals across Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole.

Role Purpose:

As the Pathway Coordinator – Hospital Discharge you will work closely with colleagues within the Wellbeing Collaborative and across the organisation, to develop and deliver our innovative offer in the acute hospitals and community reablement across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, to co-create local solutions enabling the community to better access the support the voluntary and community sector (VCS) has to offer.

The role will see you: 

• Interact with patients on a face-to-face basis, actively listen and understand their needs ahead of leaving hospital.
• Provide connection to appropriate community support, ahead of discharge. Helping them to return home safely, avoid re-admittance and stay healthy and independent for longer.
• Following a referral from hospital teams, ahead of discharge.
• Develop relationships with professional teams including the Discharge Coordinators and Discharge Key Workers
• Engage in multi-disciplinary discussions in relation to community support available post discharge.
• Work with colleagues efficiently and effectively to distribute one-off wellbeing grants to enable discharge from hospital in a safe and timely manner.
• Identify and highlight gaps in provision at point of discharge from hospital, and work with community groups to identify how best they could support.
• Support the team in the trialling of integrated volunteering into community wellbeing pathways.
• Work as part of the team on a duty roster for a minimum 2 days a week signposting people and professionals to relevant local community service providers.
• Work with the team to monitor and evaluate the Wellbeing Collaborative to ensure our objectives are achieved and evidenced.
• Support the Pathway Coordinator Team Lead to implement a robust and effective communications strategy which not only champions and promotes the work CAN does but also its members.

About you:

You’ll have a good understanding of the work of an umbrella infrastructure such as CAN and the benefits the voluntary and community sector (VCS) can and do bring the community.   You’ll understand how the local public sector works with the VCS including BCP Council, NHS Dorset, Public Health and have a desire to see them working more efficiently and effectively together.

As a people person with great interpersonal skills, you’ll be able to build and maintain excellent professional relationships with a wide range of people from a range of background to connect and develop solutions which meet people’s needs.

Experience within acute and/or community hospital, reablement services or community signposting would be an advantage, but full training will be given for the right candidate.

About the Organisation

Together We Learn is a small international development charity with a vision to break the cycle of poverty in Ethiopia by enabling disadvantaged children to access quality education.

We have been working closely with our Ethiopian partner organisation for over 25 years to achieve this. Our UK team is a small, close- knit team that supports the fundraising, international communications, and project delivery of the Ethiopian team.

Our approach is to work alongside state education infrastructure, addressing a range of needs related to access to and quality of education, as well as children’s wellbeing.

Our work with schools includes school infrastructure projects - providing safe, local schools - and supporting teachers with training and resources to inspire children to flourish in the classroom. We also work closely with the children, their families and communities to understand and address the issues they face at home and how these impact their ability to attend and concentrate in school.

We are at the start of a new strategic phase with a focus on building the capacity of our Ethiopian partner organisation to shift the power and be more locally-led in our work.

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with a connection to Ethiopia, or from the African diaspora.

Project Coordinator

The Role: The Project Coordinator supports our Ethiopian Projects team deliver, monitor, evaluate and report on our various project activities. The role involves regular communication with both our regional project teams and management, supporting the team to meet project deadlines, driving continual programme improvement through monitoring, evaluation and learning, and supporting the UK Chief Executive with project reporting and funding proposals.

Reports to: Chief Executive
Hours: 15 hours per week (part-time role 40%)
Salary: £8,620 per annum (21,550 pro rata)
Location: London office, preference for hybrid working, remote applications considered, employee must be living in the UK.

Responsibilities

Supporting project delivery (70%)

• Regularly liaising with our project teams in Ethiopia to support them to monitor project deliverables alongside project plans in a timely manner and ensure changes are communicated to relevant parties
• Support with monitoring, evaluation and learning processes by ensuring monitoring and evaluation deadlines are met, collating, analysing and formatting data for review, leading discussions on impact review and supporting discussions for continuous programme development. Including managing office volunteers to support our work in these areas.
• Support the Ethiopian team to track and understand markers of good quality, sustainable projects and to continuously improve upon these.
• Supporting the Ethiopia team to develop projects, applying learning from evaluations and developing new project concepts.
• Supporting the team to include and prioritise beneficiary perspective to lead project design, implementation and monitoring procedures 
• Support the Ethiopian team to develop, include and adhere to all organisational policies and procedures, with special attention to safeguarding.

Fundraising (20%)

• Reporting to donors and funders on project delivery, ensuring deadlines for reporting are met, collating data and Ethiopian team feedback, and writing up funder reports in a timely manner.
• Supporting the Chief Executive to research potential funders and prepare and evidence funding proposals.
• Drafting template funder proposals.
• Occasionally attending funder events
• Support the UK team to communicate with supporters via monitoring the fundraising inbox, liaising with international volunteers, tour guests or other queries.

Other (10%)

• Support with building the capacity of the Ethiopian team through working practices and training in relevant areas.
• Communicate about our work with stakeholders via writing blogs, newsletter and Annual Report chapters.

• Produce well-written engaging copy, distilling complex technical material into easily digestible articles, blogs and other content pieces for a range of audiences

We have an opportunity to work on a new project as our Befriending Development Coordinator.

You will work closely with Greenwich residents aged 50 years + and other relevant stakeholders to enable a programme of services, events and activities which seek to improve their health and wellbeing. It will target those who are lonely, isolated, and living in disadvantaged parts of the borough.

This post is based in our offices at Sherard Road in Eltham but will involve work across the borough of Greenwich so the ability to travel easily is important.

About the Organisation

Together We Learn is a small international development charity with a vision to break the cycle of poverty in Ethiopia by enabling disadvantaged children to access quality education.

We have been working closely with our Ethiopian partner organisation for over 25 years to achieve this. Our UK team is a small, close- knit team that supports the fundraising, international communications, and project delivery of the Ethiopian team.

Our approach is to work alongside state education infrastructure, addressing a range of needs related to access to and quality of education, as well as children’s wellbeing.

Our work with schools includes school infrastructure projects - providing safe, local schools - and supporting teachers with training and resources to inspire children to flourish in the classroom. We also work closely with the children, their families and communities to understand and address the issues they face at home and how these impact their ability to attend and concentrate in school.

We are at the start of a new strategic phase with a focus on building the capacity of our Ethiopian partner organisation to shift the power and be more locally-led in our work.

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with a connection to Ethiopia, or from the African diaspora.

Sponsorship Coordinator

The Role: The Sponsorship Coordinator works closely with the Ethiopian team to facilitate sponsor communications and support the smooth delivery of our student sponsorship programme. They are responsible for reviewing and sending student updates collected by the team in Ethiopia to our international sponsor community; liaising with the Ethiopian team to deliver key sponsorship activities; and engaging new and existing sponsors in the sponsorship programme.

Reports to: Chief Executive
Hours: 15 hours per week (part-time role 40%)
Salary: £8,620 per annum (21,548 pro rata)
Location: London office, preference for hybrid working, remote applications considered, employee must be living in the UK.

Responsibilities

Ethiopia team liaison and sponsor communication (70%)

• Work closely with the Sponsorship Manager and Coordinators in Ethiopia to ensure the timely and effective delivery of sponsorship activities and reporting.
• Maintain good relationships with sponsors by responding to sponsor enquiries in a prompt and friendly manner and encourage continued support for the sponsorship programme through the provision of engaging, informative and culturally aware/sensitive student updates and newsletters.
• Manage a small pool of student volunteers to produce quality reports for sponsors.
• Facilitate additional monetary gifts from sponsors to their sponsored student including individual gifts, private school support and home improvement.
• Monitor sponsorship finances, including use of Salesforce, checking sponsorship payments are received and seeking to resolve any finance problems.
• Safeguard the data relating to sponsors and beneficiaries in line with the organisation’s policies.
• Assist in the promotion of the programme to recruit new sponsors and promote the sponsorship programme on occasion, through online initiatives or attending events.

Monitoring and evaluation (20%)

• Support monitoring and evaluation of the programme by ensuring the timely collection of data by the team in Ethiopia, collating, analysing and formatting data for review, leading discussions on impact review and supporting discussions for continuous programme development. Including managing office volunteers to support our work in these areas.
• Support the Ethiopian team to track and understand markers of good quality, sustainable programming and to continuously improve upon these.

Other (10%)

• Support with building the capacity of the Ethiopian team through working practices and training in relevant areas.
• Support the Ethiopia sponsorship team to develop, include and adhere to programme policies and procedures, with special attention to safeguarding.
• Communicate about our work with stakeholders via writing blogs, newsletter and Annual Report chapters.

About the role

The Programme Coordinator will primarily be responsible for supporting Money Heroes, our largest primary programme designed to develop the financial capability of children across England and Wales. Money Heroes provides resources, training and mentoring for primary schools, as well as storybooks, games and other materials to supplement learning about money at school and in the home.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Recruitment and Induction 

• Volunteer recruitment – Conduct advertising and recruitment to ensure that there are enough people applying to volunteer at CoSS; ensuring people seeking sanctuary are aware of the opportunities available and able to access them. 

• Inductions – Lead and further develop inductions for new volunteers ensuring that these sessions are well attended and are accessible to volunteers from all backgrounds. 

• Initial support - Support new volunteers to start volunteering at CoSS and facilitate an initial probation period during which more support is available to each volunteer. 

• Administration - Work with the CoSS Administrator to conduct required administration associated with inducting new volunteers and running the volunteer team. 

 Volunteer Training and Progression  

• Volunteer Training – Deliver a wide range of training for the volunteer team that covers key essential areas alongside other training needs that may arise. 

• Training for people seeking sanctuary – Provide additional support to people seeking sanctuary to access a wide range of training and development opportunities. 

• Volunteer Reviews - Conduct regular volunteer reviews and meetings to gather feedback and to celebrate the work of the team.

Volunteer Socials and Personal Support  

• Volunteer Wellbeing - Support the wellbeing of volunteers and provide spaces for them to share and work through the challenges faced. 

• Volunteer Socials - Organise volunteer socials throughout the year. 

• Code of Conduct - Ensure all volunteers adhere to the CoSS code of conduct and manage issues that arise using CoSS's established policies and procedures. 

The Sanctuary 

• Work alongside the rest of the CoSS team, to ensure the smooth-running of The Sanctuary, our unique welcome centre for people seeking sanctuary.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reports to: Head of Support and Care (Registered Manager)
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week, usually Monday - Friday 9 - 5pm

NB Service Coordinators are required to balance management administration with being present in the group's houses. This necessitates some occasional evening and weekend work to be agreed with their line manager.

Place of work: L’Arche London community houses and office (all within a walking distance, based in West Norwood, London)

Main purpose of the role:

- To lead and manage the Oak Group, one of three groups in the L'Arche London community, comprising of a range of services for people with learning disabilities and its team of assistants.
- To lead the service delivery within this group in line with L'Arche values, standards and the requirements of the Care Quality Commission [CQC].
- To play an active role in the leadership of L'Arche London, helping shape a vibrant community of people with and without learning disabilities.

Leadership and People Management:

- Supervise and work with the Deputy Service Coordinator to lead a team of 15 Support Assistants. Ensure each assistant in the group is regularly supervised, trained, and appraised, and that action is taken to effectively manage performance issues.
- Understand the requirements of the CQC and other relevant legislation and ensure that all applicable standards are met including adult safeguarding.
- As part of the Community Coordinating Team, implement appropriate policies and procedures, promoting the wider L'Arche mission, vision and values.

Administration and Management

- Maintain high standards of communication and record keeping, ensuring an effective flow of information within the Group, with the rest of L'Arche London, the local community, family and professionals.

Creating Community

- Attend and organise Community events and celebrations relevant to the role and foster a sense of welcome for all visitors and friends; ensure a regular rhythm of prayer and reflection in accordance with the traditions of L’Arche.

What We Offer

This post is offered subject to a probationary period of 6 months; 3 clear references; a completed work history form; a satisfactory and up-to-date enhanced DBS check; and a satisfactory right to work check as appointees must have the right to work in the UK.

There is no additional pay for overtime, but Time off in lieu (TOIL) will be given and agreed with the line manager when circumstances require the post-holder to work extra hours. TOIL should be taken within 2 weeks of being accrued.

All Service Coordinators are the on-call rota for 1 week every 6 - 8 weeks. There is an additional payment of £56 a week for being on-call.

Paid holiday allowance of 33 days leave per year. (This total is inclusive of 8 days in lieu of bank holidays).
Service Coordinators will be provided with a programme of personal development and training including opportunities to study for QCF qualifications in social care and leadership development through L'Arche in the UK's leadership development programme.
