Birmingham Young People’s Service provides holistic support services for young people 10 to 25 with needs related to alcohol and substance misuse, including those that are affected by a family members alcohol and substance misuse.

The purpose of the role is to engage young people in a variety of interventions, using a person-centred approach, empowering them to reduce risk, increase resilience and achieve positive outcomes.

All Complex Needs Practitioners are expected to work days, evenings, and weekends across the community and within our multi-agency partnership settings, when required. Which will need a flexible working pattern from the successful candidate. The caseload will include a mixture of community and multi-agency referral pathways including health, social care, education, youth provision, and criminal justice.

As an energetic and confident self-starter, you will have a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or above, Dip SW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies).  Alternatively, we will consider candidates with experience of working in the health & social care field, education settings, alcohol, and substance misuse fields with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care.

Experience of liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies and health professionals and engaging effectively with clients in a variety of settings is essential. You will also need a flexible approach, excellent record keeping and report writing skills. We also work on an outreach basis, with a central hub base at our head office.

We are recruiting for a Communications Manager who will report to the Head of Advocacy & Communications and work closely with others in the team including one direct report.

The Advocacy & Communications Team works to support all area of our work including our Stop It Now helpline and programmes, our Shore website and support for young people, our paid services including training, assessments, intervention and consultancy as well as our advocacy, fundraising, research and teams in Scotland and Wales.

The Finance & Administration Assistant is a newly created role that will provide various parts of the organisation with administrative support, as well as some receptionist duties. This dynamic role will sit within the Finance team and report to the Director of Finance, however it will directly support the areas of Administration, Finance, Fundraising, and three different Service Delivery functions.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Administrative tasks

• Manage external communications through post, telephone and email, ensuring information is redirected to the relevant person to be dealt with efficiently and effectively.
• Support service/department managers with necessary purchasing.
•  Keep up to date record of monthly invoicing information for services and liaise between the Senior Finance Officer and the Service Managers to ensure this system is running efficiently and effectively.

Finance related tasks

•  Manage Petty Cash transactions on site, ensuring accurate and up to date records are kept at all times, and perform the bank runs.
• Collect and check monthly debit card and credit card reports with all necessary Purchase Invoices and PO’s from the card holders.
•  Assist the Finance Officer in processing expenditure: checking Purchase Invoices against PO’s, ensuring that all authorisations are in place, and posting expenditure on the QuickBooks database.
• Assist the Senior Finance Officer in sending out statements to overdue Debtors from QuickBooks.

Fundraising related tasks

• Process donation payments received via cheque, cash or PayPal and similar platforms onto the Beacon database.
•  Assist the Fundraising Manager in keeping the Beacon database up to date with donations/grants received, gift aid eligibility and forms, and grant contracts.
• Instigate periodic thank-you letters to donors.

Research, insight and knowledge translation:

· Support the commissioning and managing of research activities and collaborations.

· Develop longitudinal research to understand programme impact on our beneficiaries.

· Keep abreast of current and future developments in gaming and gambling harm prevention, critically appraising these and summarising them as part of our knowledge translation function.

· Liaise with the External Affairs team to support the creation of accessible learning pieces for knowledge translation across the organisation and with internal and external stakeholders.

· Support programme evaluations, including support with writing invitations to tender, liaising with Programme Leads and writing up/ dissemination of findings.

· Support programme leads with cycles of continuous improvement.

· Support the programmes team with piloting content and identifying and piloting new technologies.

Engagement and relationships:

· Assist with planning and organising advisory panels and communities of practice meetings and events.

· Support with gap analysis and implementation planning.

· Liaise with IT team to develop and maintain an online community of practice.

 Conferences, events and raising brand reputation:

· Attend and support events, trade shows and conferences.

· Identify and apply to key events and conferences where Ygam can present evidence-based research and evaluations, raising brand reputation. This will include developing and delivering presentations on our research and insight activities for varied audiences.

General administration:

· Maintain online documentation/ Ygam SharePoint.

· Uploading information to Ygam CRM system, ensuring information is up to date and accurate.

The Role:

As the Database & Impact Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing, customising, and optimising their case management software, Microsoft Dynamics. You will work closely with stakeholders, including Pragmatiq, the University of Birmingham, and Trust Impact, to enhance data capabilities and build data maturity across their network.

Key Responsibilities:

* Database Development & Management: Design, develop, and maintain Microsoft Dynamics for women's centres. Lead on requirements gathering and improvements to enhance functionality and user experience.
* Training & Support: Train team members and stakeholders on Microsoft Dynamics and Power BI, fostering a positive data culture.
* Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure compliance with GDPR and data retention policies. Lead the annual IT audit for Microsoft Dynamics.
* National Travel: Occasional travel to women's centres and other locations across the UK (estimated two days a month).

We are seeking a dynamic individual with extensive experience in database administration and development, particularly focusing on case management systems. You should demonstrate a strong passion for justice and rights, coupled with exceptional communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

This involves:

* Experience in creating and delivering training materials for diverse stakeholders.

We are seeking a highly organised Children and Young Person’s Specialist Exploitation Caseworker to work in the St Pauls and Moors Estates in Cheltenham.

The postholders will combine their lived experience of overcoming similar barriers to the client group and their professional experience to provide crucial guidance, support, and mentorship to children and young people who are being, or at high risk of being exploited. 

Through 1:1 mentoring, you will ensure children and young people are equipped to think critically, assess risk, and make better life choices. You will also support them to overcome personal challenges and achieve personal goals. The resulting mindset shift and confidence makes them more resilient to the risks of becoming involved with substance misuse and/or supply; gangs; exploitation and violence

Justice and Care is at an exciting moment with the imminent launch of a new ten-year strategy and we are looking to build a finance function to support this growth.

We are recruiting for an experienced Programme Finance Manager to manage and oversee the outworking of key financial processes at Justice & Care.  With a particular focus on support for our international projects funded by the US State Department and UK Government but with responsibilities also for our UK audit process and income/expenditure forecasting, this is a broad and varied role. 

This is a new role and will be line managed by the Finance Director but will work closely with in-country finance leads, programme teams, the Development team and wider global teams

Your main responsibilities will include;

• Collaborate with country finance leads and the programmes teams to develop detailed and well planned budgets for funding proposals including full cost recovery

• Monitor programme spend against budget, advising programme leads on financial and compliance decisions and producing numeric and narrative financial reporting in various formats, predominantly institutional donors such as the US State Department

• Project manage, forecast and monitor expenditure for UK programmes.

• Liaise with grants managers and project leads to ensure compliance on restricted grants.

• Lead on project management of the UK audit process.

• Delivering regular funder income and expenditure forecasting.

• Regular financial analysis as required to support strategic decision making.

• Manage and respond to finance related queries, becoming the finance point of contact for the UK team.

• Assist in the annual budget process, forging great relationships with budget holders.
