You will be a Youth and Wellbeing Practitioner/Assistant Psychologist who is passionate about supporting MAC-UK’s objective of working collaboratively with young people, innovating services and systems and their approach to mental health, to address health and social inequalities. We aim to support services to be more accessible, flexible and responsive to excluded groups, and to change the systems that lead to and maintain inequality. We are very excited to be part of a pilot service, new in England working as part of a consortium of four organisations, alongside Lambeth Council. This will be a residential support service for young people aged 16-24 years at risk of serious youth violence, who are already caught up in the criminal justice system and at high risk of remaining part of the system.
You will be working in one of three London properties alongside a large multi-agency staff team made up of experts by experience/profession in psychology and therapy; youth work; offending; education, training, and employment (ETE) and housing. The service will work creatively and holistically to enable young people to exit environments involving youth violence, identify and reach their goals and aspirations, move on successfully to appropriate independent living, and importantly to sustain this life. Wherever possible staff and young people will co-produce what this service looks like and what activities the young people engage in. We are recruiting for two wellbeing practitioners for our service in Harrow. The posts are part of services commissioned between Anna Freud and London Borough of Harrow (Harrow Horizons Early Intervention Service).
The service offers brief evidence-based individual and group interventions to address moderate wellbeing needs largely using CBT-based treatment, trauma informed and Mentalization approaches. Work is also conducted jointly with existing professionals where young people present with more complex needs to strengthen the skills and competencies in the multi-agency network. The work takes place on an outreach basis in schools, family homes and other community venues as well as being conducted virtually.
The Wellbeing Practitioner role will be suited to those individuals with skills and experience of working directly in schools/community and who are passionate about delivering high quality evidence-based intervention on a time-limited basis.
The post-holders will also deliver consultation, training, and workshop to non-mental health staff, such as teachers and social workers with other clinicians in the service.

The Director of Professional Services is responsible for our professional affairs activities, overseeing the creation, maintenance and application of relevant standards through our professional affairs committee, and certification and accreditation schemes. They are also responsible for member recruitment and management, ensuring we continue to attract new RSS members and partners, and that their needs are met. They also oversee a range of activities that engage RSS members (including groups that bring members together on a topic or geographical basis, RSS honours and awards, and our volunteering opportunities), securing both our impact on society and member retention.

Location: Home-based Surrey however, extensive travel will be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work-related meetings)
Hours: Part-time, 21 hours per week (flexible working available)
Salary: Circa £16,043 per annum (inner London weighting £2,370 per annum or outer London weighting £1,260 per annum may be applied in accordance to where you live) (FTE circa £26,700 per annum)

The Role
The service aims to identify and address the needs of stroke survivors and carers across the stroke pathway, by providing a range of innovative support solutions, supporting them to meet their desired outcomes. A key part of the role will be to support service users and the delivery of the service.
Reporting to the Stroke Association Service Delivery Coach, the Stroke Association Support Coordinator will:
· Support new stroke survivors and their carers from hospital discharge into the community.
· Provide personalised information, advice and support.
· Support clients to make informed lifestyle changes which will help them to prevent further strokes
· Be accountable for volunteers, so experience of recruiting, training and managing volunteers would be an advantage.
· You will have excellent IT skills and demonstrate a flexible approach to your role.
About You
The post holder will have experience/background in:
· A caring profession ideally with experience of supporting people with disabilities.
· Setting up and running virtual groups.
This role requires extensive travel across a large geographical locality to visit people at home and in community settings. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they can meet this requirement of the role.

Democracy Classroom pools the collective support of the sector through the Democracy Classroom platform, where teachers and youth workers can access the collective support of the membership.
Following the recent General Election, the network has experienced growth and is now preparing to support upcoming elections, votes at 16 and new developments such as changes to democratic education and the curriculum review. The network is non-partisan and works across all 4 nations in the UK.
The aims of the network include:
Increasing the number of young people engaging with democracy and elections.
Increasing the number of teachers and youth workers delivering democratic education, and strengthening their capacity to deliver impactful democratic engagement and voter registration activities in schools, colleges and youth settings across the UK.
Improving coordination between organisations engaging young people across the youth, education and democracy sectors, through growing the Democracy Classroom network.
ABOUT THE ROLE
To achieve the above, the post holder will:
- Support, build and manage relationships with over 100 civil society partner organisations.
- Manage the day-to-day running of the network, including the network's communications and databases.
- Coordinate the sharing of learning materials, working with teachers and youth workers to organise, map and curate content that supports democratic and election education.
- Oversee the Democracy Classroom website / platform.
- Train and support teachers and youth workers to deliver democratic education materials.
- Oversee our #ElectionCountdown programme during UK local, devolved and national elections and the associated comms campaigns.
- Line manage the Democracy Classroom programme coordinator and manage relationships with freelance teachers, youth workers and designers.
- Oversee evaluation and monitoring, producing reports where required.
The job is a fixed term 12-month contract (including a 6-month probation period), with possible extension depending on the electoral calendar.
The Politics Project is based in London, and the post holder will be expected to work from the office at least two days a week. The hours of work are 37.5 hrs per week. Occasional travel to elsewhere in the UK and working unsocial hours in evenings and at weekends may be required. This is a fast-paced role in a small but growing team.
