We're looking for someone with demonstrable experience of organisational business planning and strategic plan development.  The charity launched an ambitious ten-year strategy in 2021 and this role is pivotal in bringing that strategy to fruition. 

Position: Associate Head of Strategy Delivery

Salary: £48,748 - £56,935, plus home working allowance of £500 or inner-London weighting of £3,366.

The Role:

As Associate Head of Strategy Delivery, you will lead the Strategy Delivery Team, working with colleagues across the organisation to develop three-year business plans, targets and performance metrics. You will lead on the creation of highly informative performance and impact reporting, working with others to map out the path to 2031.

You will be a thoughtful collaborator, at the forefront of strategic thinking with experience of leading planning, monitoring, and reporting in a large and complex organisation. You will be supported by a skilled, fun and friendly team within the Strategy and Knowledge Directorate.

We are looking for someone with experience of:

• Working as a manager or lead within a planning and performance function in a complex organisation 

• Playing a leading role in the end-to-end development and delivery of organisational strategy

• Implementing organisation-wide changes to planning and/or performance practice

About the role
We are excited to be recruiting a Programme Coordinator for The Scholars Programme to join the Programme Management Team and support us in delivering the goals set out in Join the Club, our ambitious strategy for 2021-2026.
The Programme Coordinator supports the Programme Management team and wider organisation, helping to ensure strategic priorities are effectively delivered, and that schools and tutors receive a high-quality service. The role will lead on several administrative processes and will include regular document creation, data input and management, liaising with stakeholders and supporting Scholars Programme events.

This role will involve some travel to deliver events at our different university partners. While this role 
can be based at any of our offices throughout the UK, some travel will also be required (mainly to 
London) for events and to attend in-person meetings.

- Proven experience of designing and delivering organisation wide change interventions, that positively impact key performance measures, including culture and engagement.
- Expertise in people management; you will have deep understanding of best practice and its practical application.
- Experience of leading people development teams including talent management and leadership development.
- Knowledge of how reward and recognition frameworks impact attraction, retention and engagement.
- Senior generalist experience in leading a wide range  of HR professionals, with deep knowledge of all HR disciplines.
- Experience of working at a senior level within a large and complex HR function, with sound understanding of cross functional collaboration, design and delivery.

We’re looking for a Data Officer to join our growing Young Sounds team. You will fulfil an important cross-organisational role, working closely with the team to collate and analyse the data collected through all our programmes.

About Young Sounds UK

Young Sounds exists because musical talent is everywhere but opportunity isn’t: family finances and other obstacles too often get in the way. We’re here to change this in two key ways:

• We support young musicians from low-income families with funding and other help;

• We support music education through training, advocacy and research.

We became an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation in April 2023 and also joined an expanded cohort of National Youth Music Organisations (NYMOs). We currently support around 900 individual young people across the UK every year and demand for our support is increasing. It’s an exciting time to join a pioneering organisation at the forefront of British music education.

The role

The Data Officer will fulfil an important cross-organisational role, working closely with the team to collate and analyse the data collected through all our programmes. Young Sounds is a reflective organisation. We’ve always invested time and effort in seeking out, understanding and demonstrating the difference our programmes are making. We believe in learning from experience. This is what we mean by evaluation.

Since 2023 we have committed to evaluating all three of our main programmes, each of which tackles a key barrier to young people’s musical progression. Each quarter we review our progress against both our Arts Council England Activity Plan (where measures of success are agreed annually) and the actions we’ve set for each year against each of Arts Council England’s four Investment Principles. We believe that data plays an integral part in telling the story of our work, and we regularly draw upon the information collated through evaluation to update our wider funding base (e.g. Trusts and Foundations) on the work we are doing. The Data Officer will work with the External Evaluator to enable us to report effectively and accurately on our progress to all our funders.

Working relationships

Reporting to the Finance and Operations Director you will also work closely with the External Evaluator, Development Manager, Finance Officer, and other members of the wider Young Sounds team.
