You'll make a significant impact:
- Developing a compelling fundraising plan for mid and major value donors, contributing to the philanthropy strategy, and aligning with the charity's overall goals.
- Forging strong bonds with prospects and donors, collaborating with your team to understand their motivations and inspire impactful donations.
- Guiding and supporting the Philanthropy Relationship team, including the Philanthropy Manager responsible for major value trusts/foundations and individuals, and two Philanthropy Officers responsible for mid-value trusts or individuals.

The Role
As the Team Manager, you will support the Service Manager in overseeing aspects of the delivery of our LXP team. You will lead and motivate a small team of around 11 individuals to deliver quality and impactful interventions: resolving and responding to any issues and implementing any necessary changes.

About You
The successful candidate will be employed by the IUCN UK Peatland Programme’s host organisation, The Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts. The new team member will be pivotal in the delivery of the Peatland Programme’s objectives to champion peatland values. They will have the level of knowledge and experience to drive forward and promote peatland restoration in the UK and be able to advocate the multiple benefits of peatlands through partnerships, strong science, sound policy and effective practice, and communication.
They are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Communications and Engagement Lead to drive and deliver the IUCN UK Peatland Programme’s communications activity to promote the benefits of healthy peatlands to a national audience. This will be done primarily through establishing and maintaining good relationships with external contacts and partners and using these networks to identify opportunities and to build the Programme’s reach. You will lead the production of communications materials through design and appropriate messaging, assist their advocacy work, and plan and deliver events such as online workshops and their annual conference.
They are looking for someone who is passionate about communicating peatlands to a wide audience and is creative and proactive in their approach. The peatland agenda has expanded exponentially over the last 10 years and you will need to be an excellent team player and networker to capture what is happening and communicate this to multiple partners and stakeholders. The Communications and Engagement Lead post is a standalone communications post within a small team (9 people) and your ability to quickly develop good relationships with partner organisations will be critical to your success in the role.
You will be lead on the delivery of the communications strand of the Peatland Programme’s activity. You should have experience of designing publications, creating digital content, newsletters, running stakeholder events and managing social media accounts. You will support the wider Peatland Programme team in networking, identifying opportunities for collaboration, as well as in the production of resources such as briefings and web content.

Purpose of the role
This senior role will manage and oversee OTR’s main operational functions, including finance, human resources, fundraising, office management, data, policies and communications. We recognise that you may not have experience in all these areas, but may be skilled in one or more of them.

Key duties
- Driving efficiency through our finances - overseeing financial procedures to ensure OTR’s bookkeeping, payroll and annual accounts are delivered accurately and on time.
- Budgeting – with the CEO, creating annual budgets and monitoring against these against agreed KPIs.

- Leading a safe and comfortable workplace– overseeing the work of our Office Manager, including health and safety; making procurement decisions and innovating ways to make our premises secure and welcoming for staff and clients.

Working pattern and location
This role can be worked within our core hours of 8am – 6pm Monday to Friday. We will discuss your preferred working pattern at interview. The ideal candidate will be able to work on one or both of Tuesdays and Wednesdays to align with other senior team members.
This role is based at our office in central Bath, which is very close to Bath Spa train station and Bath central bus station. The post holder will be based in a shared office with access to meeting rooms.
You will be expected to be in the office for the majority of your working week but will also be able to work from home as agreed with your line manager.

As the EDI Manager (Internal) you will be implementing the For Everyone Internal Action Plan to help us become a more diverse and inclusive place to work. You will be responsible for the end-to-end project management, from scoping and planning to executing, reporting and evaluating necessary change initiatives across the organisation.
Ensuring quality and timely execution, you will be managing specific EDI work projects and change initiatives, as outlined in the Action Plan.
You will drive culture change at Sustrans by role modelling and embedding equity, diversity and inclusion into all relevant people processes and policies in line with best practice to create a more diverse and inclusive organisation.
You will strengthen the governance of our EDI Groups and Colleague Networks, so that there is more joined-up working on EDI initiatives across the organisation.
This role will be home-based, with the option of hybrid working. Occasional travel to our hubs across the UK will be required as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.
About you
You should have previous experience of managing and implementing EDI related initiatives, including supporting colleagues to embed EDI in their work.
You will be skilled in project management, with excellent time management and organisational skills. You will also be accustomed to multitasking to tight deadlines.
You will demonstrate a strong ability to interpret, analyse and present qualitative and quantitative data and use it to evaluate the impact of projects or initiatives.
As an excellent communicator, you will have the ability to build relationships with ease across a wide range of people.

We and work to reduce and prevent armed conflict by supporting government and communities to safely manage weapons and ammunition. We have helped more than 20 million people in 70 countries rebuild their lives and livelihoods after war.
About the Caribbean Programme
In the Caribbean region, MAG together with CARICOM IMPACS is building on various assessments already undertaken in the region to provide targeted assistance to states with regard to weapons and ammunition management, policy and advocacy support, and engagement with a wide range of other partners. This innovative programme focuses on safety, security and sustainability, ultimately helping to create the conditions for peace and sustainable development.
Purpose/objective of the assignment
To support the Caribbean in its efforts to combat the illicit trafficking and proliferation of firearms and ammunitions fuelling armed violence, CARICOM IMPACS, MAG and UNLIREC will seek to develop sustainable, cost-effective options and material recommendations for Caribbean states on methods of final disposal of destroyed firearms and ammunition components. This will enhance the knowledge and capacity of Caribbean states to comply with local, regional and international obligations. These activities will ultimately contribute towards achieving SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), which highlights the illicit flow of arms as a key barrier towards peaceful societies.
The MAG team in partnership with CARICOM IMPACS and UNLIREC is therefore seeking the services of an individual consultant. The consultant will be responsible for conducting an assessment, research and analysis, engagement and outreach with key regional stakeholders, and developing and finalising a policy with instructive recommendations. This policy will be in alignment with applicable international frameworks, in SALW and ammunitions, the Caribbean Priority Actions on Addressing Illicit Trafficking of Firearms (2019), the Caribbean Firearms Roadmap, and relevant national legislations, taking into consideration, health, climate change and other applicable environmental policies.
Implementation arrangements
Desktop analysis and report writing can be carried out on a remote basis, but the successful candidate must be able to travel to select countries in the region to conduct consultations with key national stakeholder’s face to face.
The consultancy is intended to begin on 5 August 2024.
Scope of work
To support the Governments across the Caribbean Region to develop sustainable final disposal solutions for obsolete, surplus and confiscated weapons and ammunition, the Consultant will undertake the following tasks:
1) Initial Assessment and research - Contextual analysis, best practices and environmental review.
2) Stakeholder Engagement – Conduct site visits, consult with key stakeholders across the region, liaise and gather input from partner organisations.
3) Policy Development – Draft policy and technical guidelines in alignment with regulatory frameworks.
4) Validation Exercise – Facilitate feedback session, gather inputs and assess resources; develop action plan.
5) Prepare a brief report identifying research findings, stakeholder feedback, and policy drafts.
Person Specification
The Consultant must present with the following requisite qualifications and competencies:
- At minimum 5 years’ experience in developing policies related to arms control, environmental management, or public safety.
- Demonstrable knowledge in conducting environmental impact assessments, particularly related to hazardous materials.
- Strong understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks at both national and international levels, particularly concerning arms control and environmental protection.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey findings, recommendations, and policy drafts to diverse audiences.
- Experience working with the Caribbean region (preferable).
Preferred Qualifications:
· Training in the field of environmental assessments, environmental management and/or arms control.
