We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Head of Finance who is dedicated to advancing our financial management capabilities and ensuring the sustainability of our operations.  Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations the Head of Finance will play a critical role in overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the FSRH.  You will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting and reporting ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and providing strategic financial guidance to other members of staff across the organisation.  You will also have an interest in leading and developing staff by fostering a positive and productive work environment.

The role, you will:

• Partner with our senior leadership team and department heads to develop financial plans, budgets, and forecasts that align with organisational strategy
• Analyse financial performance, identify trends, and communicate insights to non-financial stakeholders
• Support business planning by modelling financial scenarios and evaluating investment opportunities
• Lead monthly departmental financial reviews, highlighting performance against KPIs and recommending corrective actions
• Develop costing models to enhance understanding of product/service profitability
• Optimise working capital management and work with the FSRH Investment Advisers to maximise financial returns

• Lead on the preparation of the annual accounts and liaison with the auditors

You will have:

• Proven experience working in a finance business partner role; working with senior management to develop financial strategies to support organisational goals
• Strong commercial acumen and business understanding
• Knowledge of management accounting systems and financial software
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles
• The experience to lead and manage a small team, with a strong focus on staff development
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with management accounting and financial systems

• Qualified or part qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)

About the Role

We are seeking additional experienced Associate Independent Investigating Officers (IO) for Complaints, to increase our capacity to respond to referrals from Local Authorities to provide an independent element to the formal Stage 2 investigations under the Children Act 1989.

The IO will lead investigations, and will give the complainant (who may be a child, young person or adult) the opportunity to express their view, ensure the child or young person’s rights and best interests are at the centre of the investigation and that the investigation/review process is open and transparent. They write a report on the investigation/review, which is submitted to the referring agency.

The Job Description document sets out the expectations for an Associate Independent Person for Complaints (IPC) who is approved by Coram Voice. IPCs are independent, freelance and responsible for their own work. Nevertheless, IPCs are accountable to the organisation for their professional standards and are expected to comply with Coram Voice Code of Ethics and Practice Guidelines.

Please Note: the nature of associate work means that we cannot guarantee a regular amount of work, and complaints will be allocated dependent on the associate’s availability, location and the needs and demands of the individual case. The role

The post holder will be responsible for managing Foxglove’s legal team and legal work. You will drive forward a range of cases, including the development of case theories, investigating and collecting evidence, drafting correspondence, evidence and submissions. You will also be responsible for coordinating and managing external legal teams. UK and international travel is required.

• Listen to affected communities, unearth issues caused by tech injustice, and come up with innovative legal solutions.

Person Specification

Essential 

• A strong interest in using the law to hold government and companies to account. 
• Qualified lawyer in any jurisdiction with at least senior legal experience. 
• Ability to learn new areas of law quickly and develop new areas of work.
• Demonstrable knowledge in conduct of cases from initial advice through to trial.
• Relevant experience in analysing complex factual and legal situations and helping to advise clients in accordance with their aims.

Length and Salary

The role is permanent. The annual salary is £70,075 per annum less any required deductions for income tax and national insurance. 

Our team works remotely, and this role can be based anywhere. We would prefer you to work within or close to UK office hours, but this is flexible. Our team travels every two months for team days and twice a year for team retreats. The Conservation Leadership Programme is looking to recruit an Executive Manager to lead this dynamic partnership programme. The role of the Executive Manager is to direct strategic programme development, fundraising and collaborations, deliver the annual business plan, manage a small team across the three conservation organisations, manage financial resources and ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations. The Global Account Manager position will drive the GSK/Amref Health Africa strategic partnership. VAT Specialist | Interim (4 weeks) | London / Hybrid | £350 - 400 per day (Umbrella)

For a well-loved animal charity, we are looking for a skilled, Charity VAT Specialist for a short-term role to manage the VAT calculations and ensure the charity is compliant across all charity activities, with a focus on VAT recovery, submissions, and maximizing available reliefs. This position will suit someone immediately available, and with a strong practical knowledge of charity VAT requirements, and able to provide support during a busy period.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

VAT Compliance and Calculations:

• Oversee VAT calculations across various charity-related activities, ensuring VAT treatments are applied correctly.
• Calculate and ensure correct VAT recovery on relevant charity purchases, including those related to exempt and non-business activities.
• Prepare and submit accurate VAT returns, ensuring all charity-related income, expenses, and purchases are properly accounted for in accordance with UK VAT legislation.
• Complete the VAT treatment of specific charitable activities, including complex transactions like grants, donations, and fundraising events.

VAT Reporting and Documentation:

• Maintain precise records of VAT transactions and ensure that all VAT documentation is accurate and compliant with audit standards.
• Generate VAT reports for senior management to review, detailing VAT obligations, recoveries, and any potential areas of concern or opportunity for improvement.

VAT Filing:

• Ensure timely submission of VAT returns to HMRC, meeting required deadlines and maintaining full compliance with tax regulations.
• Reconcile VAT control accounts to ensure VAT submissions are accurate and complete

VAT Audits and HMRC Liaison:

• Assist with any VAT audits or investigations and provide the necessary supporting documentation.
• Respond promptly to any queries or concerns raised by HMRC regarding VAT compliance.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Proven Charity VAT expertise, including reliefs, exemptions, and VAT recovery processes
• Strong hands-on experience with VAT returns and compliance for charities or not-for-profit organisations.
• Detailed knowledge of VAT rules affecting charitable activities, i.e., fundraising, donations, grants.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage complex VAT transactions accurately.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently within tight deadlines.
• A professional qualification in VAT, accounting, or tax (e.g., ATT, CTA, ACA, ACCA).
• Experience working in a temporary or project-based role, with the ability to hit the ground running.
• Prior experience dealing with VAT audits or HMRC queries.

As the Director of Development and Communications, you will join a collaborative and proactive Executive Team and be responsible for fundraising and engagement activity. A leading and strategic role, this post will set and deliver new fundraising and communications strategy to achieve sustainable income generation growth and wider engagement with various audiences. With a particular focus on growing high value income streams for the organisation and testing new fundraising areas, this role will bring innovative thinking and grow the team to deliver successful fundraising and communications strategy.  

To be successful as the Director of Development and Communications, you will have proven experience of setting fundraising strategy and working with small teams to deliver successful income generation growth. You will have evidence of working with various donor and engagement audiences, particularly major donors, trusts and foundations, and corporate partners. This person will need to demonstrate an understanding and some experience within communications, ideally showcasing knowledge of how fundraising and communications support one another.  

This role is a full-time permanent position that will be remote with occasional travel to London. The salary for this position is £65,000 to £70,000.

About the Role

This role supports the design and implementation of social and behavioural change (SBC) best practice in our country programmes with a focus on inclusive and gender-transformative approaches and reaching key populations and vulnerable groups such as adolescents, people in extreme poverty and people living with disability. 

This role will provide focused technical assistance to MSI country programmes, supporting evidence-based design of new approaches, capacity strengthening, monitoring, evaluation and documentation of social and behaviour change activities. It will also support donor and fundraising teams within MSI to include appropriate best practice approaches into new proposal design. 

The SBC Specialist will also work with the Evidence and Impact team to document and share successes and challenges in SBC programming and support the dissemination of best practice approaches. The learnings and outcomes generated from key projects will be used to strengthen SBC programming across MSI’s global partnership, significantly contributing to delivery of MSI’s 2030 strategy. 

This role reports to the Head of SBC and Inclusion in the Technical Services Department, which supports social and behaviour change programming across MSI.

To perform this role, you’ll need the following experience:

• Significant technical experience, at a regional or global advisory level, in the design and implementation of social and behaviour change programming. Thematic experience must include technical assistance in the health sector, preferably in SRHR.   
• Experience of the critical review of existing SBC approaches to identify learnings and opportunities to improve, establish recommended approaches and guidance and support with effective scale-up. 
• Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams to align objectives and gain buy-in to approaches 
• Demonstrated ability to present in high-level forums such as donor calls, meetings or conferences 
• Demonstrated capacity strengthening experience, including developing and conducting trainings, mentorship, and coaching of government, local, and community partners. 
• Demonstrated ability to ensure gender mainstreaming and social inclusion integration in project design, implementation, and M&E. Experience of designing with and for vulnerable populations highly desirable.
• Familiarity with social and behaviour change communication and social norms theories and approaches.
• Familiarity with formative research and monitoring and evaluation methodologies and approaches and ability to interpret data for decision making and inform programming and strategies.
• Experience of designing resources and approaches for community health workers or community mobilisers highly desirable.

Formal education/qualification
