Salary: £30,291

Base: Central Edinburgh/hybrid

Hours: Full time and permanent.  35 hours a week over core working hours of 10am - 3pm, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour lunch break. The office is open 8am – 6pm daily and our hybrid working policy requires all full-time employees to work at least two days a week in the Edinburgh office.

About the role and why we need you

To help start new cancer cures and save lives, we are looking for a Research Funding Administrator to join the busy Research team at Worldwide Cancer Research.  As Research Funding Administrator, you will be part of the team running the Charity’s multi-million-pound response-mode funding programme for discovery cancer research. Reporting to the Research Funding Manager, you will assist with the processing of funding applications, their review by external experts and the charity’s Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), and the administration and financial management of the resulting awards.

The Senior Individual Giving Officer will join the busy and passionate Individual Giving team as they need to build capacity during a period of growth. This will include digital, mail and phone direct marketing campaigns, making decisions on concept, creative and delivery.

You will have proven experience of managing direct marketing campaigns in a charity environment and will have demonstrable experience of managing projects from start to finish within given budgets and timescales. You will have ideally worked with digital fundraising tools and will understanding current data legislation, particularly GDPR.

About the role:

This role is based at our Coventry office with the option of hybrid working from home. Travel across the area is required, travelling time is within working hours & expenses are reimbursed. Our Activity Service 

The Activity Service is an important part of our organisation, delivering high quality activities to the older people of Merton. About the Role 

We are recruiting an Activity Coordinator to support the Activity Service Manager in the delivery and development of the Activity service. 

The Activities Coordinator will be a hands-on role, working with the team to deliver a wide range of activities both existing and new at our centre and across the borough of Merton.

The role will play a key part in organising the delivery of existing activities, ensuring they are delivered to an exceptional standard with the service users at the heart of the service. 

The role will on occasion deputise for the Activities Service manager, overseeing both the team and the delivery of activities. This role will play an important part to increase our outreach across Merton.

• Responsible for daily banking and reconciliation of cash for all activities. 

• Introduce new ways to pay for activities such as online bookings. 

• Take bookings for all activities and input details on to the CRM. 

• Answer telephone enquiries for the Activity centre. 

• Greet all clients and volunteers attending the Activity centre. 

Data Capture, Evaluation and Reporting.  

• Respond to feedback and suggestions from clients to develop activities. 

• Keep records up to date on the CRM for attendees of all activities. 

• Working with the Activity Service Manager to expand the delivery of activities into areas of the borough not currently served. 

• Working with the Activity Manager to develop client feedback opportunities. 

• Support the Activity Manager to identify and write up case studies for funding applications. 

• Use the CRM to run reports to support funding bids and reporting. 

General  

• Establish good working relationships with all relevant stakeholders and liaise as required Comply at all times with the policies and procedures of Age UK Merton.

Right now, is Manchester’s time to shine. This year, we’re celebrating 200 years of making a difference. And we’re currently preparing to launch our first ever major fundraising and volunteering campaign.

Manchester Museum will play a key role in the campaign. The Museum – which is part of The University of Manchester – cares for over 4.5 million objects, with an internationally important collection spanning from Archaeology to Zoology. It works with communities, supports university students and schools in Manchester and beyond, and is a free, inclusive museum for all.

Since reopening after a major capital redevelopment in February 2023, Manchester Museum has gone from strength to strength. In its first year it more than doubled its visitor numbers. The Museum’s visitor base today reflects its communities and context – just under a third of visitors are under 25 and over a third are from the global majority.

As the University’s fundraising lead for Manchester Museum, you’ll be responsible for driving forward the Museum’s philanthropic fundraising strategy, working closely with colleagues across the Museum and our wider University fundraising team. You’ll unlock the potential of philanthropy at Manchester Museum – developing and nurturing relationships with people, networks, businesses and associations who have the ability to make significant gifts to support Museum priorities. Working closely with colleagues across the Museum and University, you’ll identify opportunities for philanthropy to play a key role in delivering the Museum’s mission. And you’ll develop creative and effective engagement, cultivation and stewardship plans that deepen prospect relationships and inspire future support.

You will have significant experience of working with vulnerable people and doing so in in partnership with a range of stakeholders. Being able to manage multiple projects, including budgets; build the capacity of others and be effective and proactive in communicating are all key. An understanding, and appreciation of, God’s call to serve the poor is essential as is being comfortable in talking about Christian faith and theology.
