About the Role

We are looking for a highly creative individual with strong graphic design skills. As the Junior Graphic Designer, you must be enthusiastic about delivering great work and keen to grow in skills and experience. Intuitive understanding of articulating a brand within design assets, is also key. A sharp eye for detail is essential, as are good communication skills and command of the English language.

You will provide a crucial role in delivering brand design assets for print and digital to help meet key objectives across the organisation. The scope of the role means no two days will be the same – you’ll work on numerous projects, adhering to the master brand guide for the charity and any other brand identities of specific marketing campaigns. You’ll enjoy and take pride in producing clean, typographically elegant, imaginative and impactful work.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Junior Graphic Designer will mainly work with our Graphic Designer, but potentially also with other designers at external creative agencies.

• Proven graphic design experience with examples of pervious work completed.
• A strong eye for aesthetics and details.
• Familiarity with Mac and PC operating systems and software, design software and technologies, especially Adobe Creative Suite.

ROLE SUMMARY 

We are looking for a creative, engaging and resourceful Administrator who can support the Youth Engagement Team at Ocean Generation to deliver our brand of Ocean Intelligence to young people across the globe. The successful candidate will be instrumental in our aim to inspire thousands of young people to engage in Ocean action.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

General Admin:

• Supporting with the day-to-day tasks of the Youth Engagement Team, including managing the youth inbox, booking co-working space, sourcing and purchasing materials, generating certificates for participants, etc.

• Managing the team project plans via Monday and team events calendar to ensure the smooth running of all events.

• Building new contact lists for potential partnerships to widen our reach and maintaining current database.

• Supporting the Youth Engagement Lead in the training of Interns

Marketing and Promotion:

• Designing content on Canva to ensure that all Youth Engagement materials are up-to-date and on brand

• Updating content on websites and platforms when required

This role offers an exciting opportunity to positively impact the lives of rough sleepers here in Woking, by assisting them in finding and maintaining stable housing. As the rough sleeper co-ordinator, you'll employ a strengths-based approach, working alongside various local agencies to provide holistic, trauma-informed support to those who are experiencing homelessness. Your dedication and compassion will empower individuals to overcome adversity, rebuild their lives, and thrive in their community.

We would be keen to employ someone who can speak Romanian and other Eastern European languages, this would enhance our team's communication capabilities to rough sleepers who don’t have English as a first language.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee rough sleeper drop in from 8am – 10am weekdays at our Day Centre. Ensuring the rough sleeper drop-in service provides a welcoming and safe space within the resource centre, offering essential amenities like showers, breakfast, and food parcels to address immediate needs.

• Collaborate proactively with the Senior Tenancy Sustainment Officer (STSO) to engage, verify, and offer support to rough sleepers.

• Lead the assessment process for all new clients, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their needs and strengths, to tailor support effectively. Maintaining and updating the referrals list, regularly checking on the welfare of clients alongside the staff team at our direct access service.

• Attend Rough Sleeper meetings with the STSO, led by the Rough Sleeping team from Woking Borough Council.

• Attend Streetlink reports and conduct town walks, actively engaging with the community and staying informed about local dynamics to better support clients.

• Maintain comprehensive notes on our database, Salesforce, to provide clear and concise information of interactions and outcomes for clients.

• Guide clients towards relevant services through informed signposting, empowering them to access resources and support, conducive to their individual journeys.

• Actively participate in the varied services provided by YRP, contributing expertise and dedication to the holistic support of clients and the community.

We currently have four internships available, which are either office based, remote or hybrid. All roles are full time paid positions paid at the Living Wage Foundation rate.

Working at Thomas Pocklington Trust - Thomas Pocklington Trust

This role is part of the Wiltshire Adult Domestic Abuse Team, which provides support to people and their families who have been impacted by domestic abuse.

Working within the team, you will work directly with victims of domestic abuse, providing them with support and educational sessions to increase their safety and the safety of any of their children.

Offering support to standard to medium risk victims of domestic abuse, key tasks will include:

• To provide high quality, person centred, trauma informed support to people impacted by domestic abuse.
• Being part of a team providing a whole family approach.
• Support people to increase their personal safety.
• Support people’s personal empowerment to take control of their lives.
• Undertaking risk assessments and collaboratively developing safety plans.
• Give practical and emotional support to families who are experiencing domestic abuse in the community.
• Deliver and facilitate groups for people impacted by domestic abuse, including the Inspiring Families Course (including evening delivery where required).

You will work closely with Children’s Social Care, offering professional consultation regarding domestic abuse cases and attending team meetings where required. You will work closely with local Social Workers to increase the safety and stabilisation of people, by offering specialist domestic abuse educational sessions to the non-abusing parent, either in a one-to-one or group setting.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide a high-quality, person centred, trauma informed service and empowerment to those who need it.
• Manage a caseload of standard to medium risk cases, providing virtual and face to face support.
• Complete an initial assessment of individuals’ and families' needs with corresponding support plans to meet these needs so, preventing escalation of difficulties.
• Triage new referrals, ensuring comprehensive safety and safeguarding advice and guidance on initial contact.
• Undertake regular caseload review meetings with individuals and families during home and community visits to ensure they are fully supported to meet their personal goals.
• Be responsible for running groups, adhering to a clear manual and supporting second facilitators.
• Complete pre and post group assessments.
• Attend regular meetings with Children’s Social Care and offer professional consultation to Social Workers regarding cases involving domestic abuse.
• Assess, manage and review risks to service users, colleagues and self, including the use of the DASH Risk Assessment, and professional judgement.
• Attend Children’s Social Care multi-agency meetings such as child protection conferences and core groups, offering your professional perspective and provide written reports for Child Protection proceedings.
• Work with colleagues, health and social care professionals and multi-agency networks to evaluate caseload needs.
• Improve parents' understanding of the impact of Domestic Abuse on their child(ren) and work with the parent to provide continued support to their child(ren).
• Ensure personal safety and that of service users and other staff at all times.
• Respond to emergencies and crises including access to places of safety.
• Plan and implement activities to promote self-awareness, confidence and participation for service users.
• Enable service users to participate in the design, delivery and evaluation of services.
• Utilise evaluation and monitoring systems to ensure high standards of service are consistently achieved e.g. Insights and Orchards Database.
• Assist clients in attending legal and other appointments where necessary.
• Ensure support provided is accessible to clients in terms of location and times.
• Facilitate and deliver group work to people impacted by domestic abuse, including evening groups on a rota basis.

General Responsibilities:

• Remain up to date and concordant with organisational procedures, policies and professional code of conduct, upholding standards of best practice.
• Attend and contribute to team meetings.
• Contribute to effective team working with a flexible and pro-active approach, including cover for other team members’ holidays and sickness where required.
• Undertake agreed training and keep updated on changes in legislation, policy, and best practice.
• To support additional duties at your team managers discretion.
• To cover duty in the event of emergencies or staff absence.
