And it leads to some of the biggest campaign impacts in the UK, such as winning over £2 billion of wages through the UK Living Wage campaign, securing a legal cap on the cost of credit to control exploitative lending, and ending the detention of children for immigration purposes. We enable local campaigns to grow into large-scale social change projects such as the Living Wage Foundation, Parents and Communities Together (PACT), Sponsor Refugees, and Refugees for Justice, that form an integral part of our theory of change. The most prominent of these is the rapidly growing Living Wage Foundation with a network of over 14,000 accredited Living Wage Employers across the UK. 

Purpose 

We’re looking for someone who wants to combine their passion for social change with their commitment to digital communications. The person in this role will line manage a small and talented team of two officers (Marketing and Content, and Digital Communications), and should enjoy supporting others to flourish through a kind and relational approach. 

Part of a busy department of specialists in communications (including digital and press), public affairs and policy, you will play a critical role in shaping our digital engagement strategy through our website, social media channels and email marketing. As well as leading the team to expand our reach and build brand awareness through creative content, you will also have a keen eye for analytics and work with our partner agencies to deliver effective campaigns across paid social media ads, Google Ads and CMS management.

You’ll be joining the team at an exciting time; supporting communities to engage decision makers and win change post-General Election. Our external affairs work is fast-paced but committed to the distinctive ethos of Citizens UK – where local leaders and people experiencing injustice are in the lead. You’ll be a strong communicator with the ability to tell a story in short time frame and have interest in a range of social justice issues including refugee and migrant justice and the real Living Wage.

Reporting to the Director of Communications, you will play an integral role in shaping the digital strategy, while ensuring that colleagues develop their capacity and understanding of how to use digital tools most effectively.

Main Responsibilities 

Working as the Digital Engagement Manager for Citizens UK, reporting to the Director of Communications, your main responsibilities will include: 

Situational Awareness and Research 

• Lead the team in conducting stakeholder analysis; identifying and segmenting audiences and their positions and interests. 

• Confident to test and learn from new digital and marketing approaches 

Strategy Development 

• Participate in development of the communications strategy, contributing tactical and creative ideas around implementation. 

• Shape digital engagement and marketing strategy, ensuring that plans deliver against the influencing goals; evaluating effectiveness of the strategy and adjusting as required. 

• Work with project teams to support the development of tailored digital strategies 

Reputational & Risk Management 

• Demonstrate awareness of potential reputational risks and proactively develops appropriate protocol and messages, including expected professional fundraising standards. 

• Effectively represents Citizens UK with senior stakeholders 

Materials Development & Dissemination 

• Demonstrate a track record of effective supervision and quality control of output – critically ensuring compliance with plan and audience appeal. 

• Ensure all work is completed within brand guidelines. 

Digital, social media and website 

• Able to lead the team in the use of social media to increase brand awareness and impact; able to generate innovative approaches.  

• Lead on supporter engagement through Action Network, building the capacity of Organisers and community leaders to effectively use digital campaigning tools 

• Work with developers to maintain and update website CMS, support the team in creating news and blog content and help upskill colleagues to create content for the website. 

External Relationships  

• Manage relationships and communication with external suppliers where required 

Campaign and Events Management 

• Take an integrated communications approach to digital engagement activity. 

• Identify opportunities, initiate and grow new campaign tactics. 

• Establish systems for monitoring and evaluating key performance indicators and delivering to time and budget. 

Internal Comms & Knowledge Management 

• Identify gaps in our internal knowledge management in digital practices and strengthen these with clear processes and documents to drive best practice amongst wider team. 

• Adopt a strong solution focused approach to help teams overcome any challenges and maximise their digital engagement efforts  

• Provide training to key members of staff to upskill colleagues. 

• Act as a brand ambassador for the whole organisation. 

Internal Relationships 

• Provide line management support and leadership on our digital engagement, ensuring colleagues feel supported, developed and valued 

• Ensure the work produced across the team is of high quality, and reflective of Citizen UK’s values

This position reports directly to the Senior Fundraising & Marketing Manager, sharing collective responsibility to deliver Beechwood’s mission in supporting those affected by cancer and in attracting and growing fundraising income to achieve this.

You will lead on developing and delivering the departmental strategy and identify new propositions and campaigns to grow and diversify activities and income.  You will review our existing portfolio of fundraising events and develop community fundraising initiatives and awareness of the Charity across local areas.

The successful candidate will require the confidence and people skills to develop new and existing corporate supporter relationships, together with sponsorship opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising, Development, and Income Generation

• Assist in developing and delivering the fundraising strategy to raise awareness and to achieve agreed income targets across a range of revenue streams including corporate partnerships, trusts and grants, fundraising events, community fundraising, individual giving, legacies and digital fundraising.
• To maximise growth opportunities for current partnerships and event sponsors.
• To research identify and develop potential new supporters, sponsors or major donors.
• Nurture and manage a range of external relationships, with an ability to speak confidently and to give presentations.
• Ensure all supporter and donor data is captured on the in-house CRM system and all other fundraising and supporter records are up to date.
• Ensure fundraising Gift Aid is recorded accurately, records maintained, and claims filed in a timely manner.

As a marketing executive at Frontline (known internally as a marketing officer) your work will directly impact the success of the charity. You will hold responsibility for creating and optimising content across a wide range of digital channels, to attract leads, increase brand awareness, encourage engagement with our work and drive recruitment to our programmes.

Working closely with the communications and marketing manager, you will help to shape our marketing strategy, and to plan and evaluate marketing campaigns, including our Approach Social Work recruitment campaign. You will need creativity, analytical skills, and extensive knowledge of marketing channels and trends.

The communications and marketing team sits within the wider external relations division. You will work closely with your communications, evaluation, Fellowship and fundraising colleagues to achieve our wider external relations strategy. And you will use your marketing knowledge and skills to support teams across the entire charity to create engaging communications that are on-brand and achieve results.

Some key responsibilities include:

• Coordinate, implement and evaluate multi-channel marketing campaigns to support programme recruitment and fundraising, using emails, social media, website, display ads and more.
• Write and edit copy for a wide range of audiences and contexts.
• Use content creation tools such as Canva and video editing software to create high quality content that supports wider objectives.
• Evaluate and optimise digital content, including Frontline’s website, to improve performance.

The successful candidate will have a proven ability to create and deliver tailored content as part of successful marketing campaigns.

The Fundraiser is responsible for income generation from all available sources and for increasing awareness of the charity.

Main duties and responsibilities
• Develop and maintain the Fundraising Strategy, for approval by the CEO and Trustees, ensuring it’s then taken up and executed.
• Setting, together with the CEO and Trustees, and managing the fundraising budget.
• Overall responsibility for fundraising events and campaigns, including creating, organising, attending and all follow up actions.
• Recruit sponsors and volunteers for fundraising purposes, maintaining the database for these, being responsible for induction and training.
• Working with volunteers.

• Ensuring we are up to date with and adhere to all data protection and fundraising regulations, following the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Conduct.
• Maintaining our Fundraising Policy, Volunteers Agreement and all other documentation relating to volunteers and fundraising.
• Supporting other people’s events, being the first point of contact for anyone raising funds on our behalf.

You would be joining a small but dedicated team, harnessing your passion for designing and delivering exceptional, engaging events (whether virtually or in-person).

The role involves all aspects of managing a portfolio of our third-party events, from initial set-up, marketing, stewardship, event logistics to event evaluation.  As such, we’re looking for an experienced events fundraiser, with a flair for project management, keen eye for detail and a passion for facilitating opportunities for our supporters to reach and achieve their goals.

• Experience with digital fundraising techniques and CRM systems

Trusts and Foundations Officer - Remote / Hybrid Working 

Fixed Term | 11 Month Maternity Cover | Full Time, 37hrs PW

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference through the playing a vital role in our Philanthropy Team. 
Reporting to the Senior Philanthropy Manager this role is responsible for working alongside their line manager, wider team and operational colleagues to write and support applications to trusts and foundations for funding.

The role also plays a key role in the stewardship of our trust and foundation supporters, building strong and meaningful relationships with these organisations and individuals.  Whilst not a key focus of this role, the post holder may also be required to support the Philanthropy Team’s wider work including corporate and major donor approaches.

About You
We are looking for a passionate and skilled trusts and foundations officer to play a key role in building on the successes of our trusts and foundations programme.  With passion for both writing and supporter stewardship you will be able to write persuasively and build meaningful relationships with those who support us. Working well as a team player you will work closely with both the wider Philanthropy Team and operational colleagues to support local applications as appropriate. 

You will have a track record of delivering efficiently and effectively. You focus on insight, stewardship and persuasive writing to get the right result for the organisation and building lasting and substantial relationships with funders. You will also be an effective communicator developing trusting relationships across the organisation and with our funders and supporters, taking everyone with you on the journey.
