The Fundraising & Communications Officer will play a crucial role in enhancing Restore’s income and engagement. You will communicate with a broad audience and raise funds through corporate and community relationships, and fundraising events. This role will enable Restore to raise funds to run recovery, coaching, and training services, to support better mental health, tell stories of hope and recovery, and increase awareness in the community to equip individuals and organisations with the knowledge and skills to reduce the associated stigma.

Working closely with colleagues across the Income and Engagement team (I&E) Volunteering team, wider teams, and Restore’s partners, this role requires the ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Experience of working with volunteers or as a volunteer, track record of corporate and community relationship management and event organisation is desirable.

About the role: 

The successful applicant will work alongside our Trustees, our CEO and our existing Head of Fundraising and Communications in a jobshare to meet challenging fundraising targets. You will be joining us at an exciting time of development, as we open at our third site in Islington, welcome new members of staff to our team and begin work on a new strategy for 2025-2028. JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Fundraising and Partnerships Manager

Job Purpose: To develop fundraising proposals and raise funds from trusts and foundations. To raise funds for Action Village India through our trading activities and events.

Reports to: Executive Director

Salary: £30,000 pro rata

Hours:21 hours per week (equivalent to 3 working days) – ideally including Wednesday and Thursday.

By agreement there is an option to work an additional 11 events days over the full year. This is related to WOMAD and our other events. This is revised annually based on the agreed workplan.

Location:Dalston, London (5 Balls Pond Road, N1 4AX)

Contract: Permanent, pending a successful 6-month probationary period

Annual Leave: 25 days (pro rata)

Pension scheme: Action Village India provides access to an auto-enrolment pension plan through the Pensions Trust for all staff who have completed 6 months of satisfactory service with 3% employer contribution.

FUNDRAISING

1.1 Fundraising Management and Donor Liaison:

• In line with Action Village India’s project funding priorities, research and develop fundraising proposals for new and ongoing projects to be submitted to major donors, trusts and foundations as well as other appropriate sources.
• Keep up to date spreadsheets and databases tracking donor deadlines, the status of applications and reporting deadlines.
• Ensure that material from partners for monitoring reports is developed as needed and work to ensure that reports are submitted as required and to agreed deadlines.
• Support the Executive Director with fundraising and reporting to individuals and trusts.

1.2Events

• Plan and manage, in collaboration with the Action Village India team, the events for the year
• Attend Action Village India fundraising events (evenings and weekends as agreed with the team)
• Attend WOMAD festival and support the Action Village India team with the successful running of the Action Village India stall and presence at the festival.

1.3 Individual Giving

• Planning and delivering our regular appeals and engagement communications.
• Develop new ways to engage our supporters’ base and grow income from Individual Giving products.
• Build engaging journeys to retain existing supporters and develop more supporters.

1.4 Communications and Development Management

• Create communications content that inspires supporter engagement and promotes loyalty.
• Contribute relevant material and content to Action Village India newsletters.
• To design and produce communication materials – Annual Report and Appeals
• Supply project information to support appeals to individual donors, and at public events including WOMAD; co-organise the exhibition at WOMAD.
• Work with partners to generate engaging communications and marketing materials about the progress of their work, including visual content.
• Work with partners to generate material on which to base awareness-raising and educational work in the UK, where appropriate.
• Manage the creation of the organisation’s content, for example, leaflets, webpages and annual reports.
• Work closely with the Communications and Administrative Assistant to support the creation of social media content and other customer relationship material, ensuring this feeds directly into the Communications Strategy.
• Support the Executive Director in monitoring and assisting with formal progress reports to funders, and any other work based on the organisation’s requirements.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

EXPERIENCE

• Ideal minimum of three years proven experience in fundraising from trusts and foundations, events and individual giving.
• Proven experience in writing project proposals and reports for funders.
• Proven success in raising funds from trusts and foundations in the UK, working alone or perhaps as part of a larger fundraising team.
• Experience co-organising events and fundraising activities.

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS

• Knowledge of Trusts and Foundations and institutional fundraisers particularly in the UK.
• Knowledge of the international solidarity and development landscape and/or familiar with funder processes, databases and requirements.
• Knowledge of Charity Law, Data Protection, Fundraising Code of Practice and other relevant marketing or fundraising standards in the UK.

Bristol Charities mission is to provide opportunities and support for people and communities to improve lives through grants, housing and charitable projects.

They are at a very exciting time in their development and have created a new role of Director of Fundraising & Communications to help them on their journey. This a new role that will play a crucial part in shaping the future of the charity as well as securing the resources to deliver sustainable growth in the work and impact of the charity.

Going forward their work will be delivered though a distinctive and coherent Community Hub model, which will be holistic, person-centred, integrated, joined-up, and promote a partnership approach.  They also purchased The Vassall Centre in 2021, with long term plans to redevelop the site for community benefit.

In the short term they plan to relaunch the Vassall Centre as a standout, accessible, and affordable workspace venue for charitable organisations.  Their community Hubs will include directly delivered Bristol Charities programmes/projects, services delivered by local partners, and services delivered by their strategic partners. Bristol Charities now need to recruit an experienced, passionate, and entrepreneurial fundraising professional; someone who is capable of not only overseeing a small but growing communications function, but who also recognises the importance of aligning fundraising and communications strategies and activity.

Job summary 

We're looking for an ambitious and talented Head of Public Fundraising join our team. As a member of the extended leadership team, you'll inspire and lead a talented team of fundraisers committed to growing income from community, events fundraising and individual giving (including legacies). A highly motivated, creative team player with a strong track record of success, you'll support our fantastic public fundraising team to take these vital income areas to the next level and beyond. 

You’ll have a solid understanding and experience of one or more public fundraising income areas, be adept at identifying and creating opportunities for income growth and be able to communicate with a wide range of audiences, organisations and stakeholders — internally and externally. An understanding of health and medical causes would be beneficial but certainly not essential. We’re very happy to support the career development of somebody stepping up into their first ‘head of’ role and will also consider applications from someone who is already in a Head of role seeking to increase their remit across a greater number of fundraising areas. Most importantly, however, is your understanding of public fundraising alongside your passion to support the charity to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer.

We are looking for a talented bid writer to join our Strategic Partnerships Team as a Trusts, Foundations and Lottery Fundraising Officer.  You will ideally have worked in fundraising and understand how to articulate and package our services so they align with the interests and priorities of trusts, foundations and National Lottery audiences, to secure vital funds to underwrite our charitable objectives.

About the role

You will manage a portfolio of medium and large trusts, foundations and National Lottery programmes to secure donations and grants between £10k and £100k. This will involve collaborative working across internal teams to maximise funding opportunities and to deliver effective reporting to donors.  You will represent the interests and needs of our funders to colleagues to ensure we meet our commitment to the delivery of grant requirements, project outcomes and specific funder recognition.

About you

If your knowledge, skills and experience include the following then we’d love to hear from you:

• Experience of articulating and packaging up priority projects in an appropriate and attractive way for the interests of funders, writing the very best applications.
• Experience of researching and identifying significant new funders and National Lottery programmes.
• Experience of securing and managing gifts in excess of £10k.
• Proactive and well organised, with an ability to balance working on multiple projects, applications and reports concurrently.
• Ability to read and interpret financial accounts and budgets.
• Having an understanding of all areas of trusts, foundations and National Lottery fundraising, and the key drivers of why funders would support Versus Arthritis.

Flint House Police Rehabilitation is a registered Charity offering rehabilitation services to ill or injured serving and retired police officers suffering from a wide variety of physical and mental health conditions.

Every year Flint House treat over 3,000 police officers. About You

nasen have a rare and exciting opportunity for a Head of Fundraising to work with our Executive Leadership team to identify opportunities and develop new business opportunities.

The role has clear fundraising priorities, but we are looking for someone willing to lend-a-hand to support our high-profile events and able to work well as part of a relatively small staff team. We are hoping to find someone who is a confident and organised feminist leader and an influencer who is as committed and passionate as we are to ending male violence and abuse.

RISE is a relatively small organisation with around 20 staff. We are a busy and (for our size) complex charity, with a friendly team, a positive ethos, and a commitment to ensuring that RISE is a strong and efficient organisation and a great place to work.

The successful candidate will be creative, organised and resourceful, possess excellent cross-discipline communication and income generation skills and have solid experience in running successful awareness-raising campaigns, maximising digital channels and securing press coverage to increase RISE’s reach.
