Who we are

RISE is local, highly respected women-centred domestic abuse charity deeply embedded in the Brighton and Hove community with 27 years’ experience. Our vision is ‘Freedom from Domestic Abuse and Violence’ and we run key services for survivors including a helpline, big-lottery community project and at the heart of our offer is our survivor-centred therapy.

Our specialised trauma informed Therapy and Wellbeing Service for adults, children and young people offers 1 to 1 therapy, trauma stabilisation and wellbeing sessions plus therapeutic recovery groups. 

We also offer music therapy for mothers and young children, eco-art-therapy for adolescent girls in collaboration with The Plot in Stanmer Wellbeing Gardens as well as recovery groups for children (7 - 9) and adolescent boys. Some of our work includes education around trauma and the impact of domestic abuse and self-care. We also offer online training.
