OVERVIEW AND JOB PURPOSE
Pump Aid is a dynamic, award winning and growing organisation, which is promoting a radically different approach to aid and development in the WASH sector by establishing Malawi’s first social impact business (Beyond Water) focused on delivering reliable access to clean water for rural communities. We challenge conventional development programmes by taking a business-based approach that ensures long term sustainability and impact for the communities we work with. Clean water results in better health, increases educational attainment and reduces inequality for women and girls across Malawi.
To support our mission we are recruiting a Communications and Fundraising Officer to help deliver on our ambitious growth plans to reach 2 million people by 2030. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated person with strong communication and interpersonal skills, who can plan and create compelling communications to increase awareness of our work and engage new and existing supporters. Furthermore, you will lead on key areas of our fundraising strategy including annual fundraising campaigns, individual giving and small trusts and foundations.
Roles and Responsibilities
- You will lead on defined elements of Pump Aid’s fundraising strategy: scoping, applications, reporting and management (to largely small to medium sized trusts and foundations, community funders and individuals.)
- You will develop and manage a schedule of compelling communications across a number of channels including social media, web and print that will grow engagement with Beyond Water’s mission.
- You will support the Head of Development to pitch to social impact and philanthropic investors by finding creative ways to differentiate ourselves from traditional approaches to international development.
- You will take responsibility for managing and administrating fundraising income, using Salesforce CRM to keep up to date records of donations, keeping donors updated through regular reports and leveraging annual campaigns including the Big Give Christmas Campaign to maximise individual giving donations.
- Maximise the value and duration of donor support through excellent stewardship and relationship management.
- While office hours are notionally 9:00am to 5:30pm, the demands of a business focussed on Africa, with donors in the UK, USA, Europe and Asia mean a degree of flexibility is required.
Candidate Profile
1. Strong experience in planning and executing communications plans across a variety of mediums (social media, website, blog posts, impact reports) to grow awareness and engagement with the work of our social enterprise
2. Demonstrable success in fundraising within the charity sector; scoping, prospecting, proposal writing and reporting.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to present to a variety of audiences
4. Experienced in home working and able to self-motivate and develop and execute personal work and action plans with limited face to face supervision
5. Demonstrable ability to prioritise and manage conflicting outcomes and objectives and ensure the right job is completed at the right time
6. Works well in a small, dynamic team
7. High level of computer literacy – Canva, Microsoft Office, Salesforce or similar CRM software
8. Well organised and can prioritise work to meet deadlines
9. Experience working in international development is preferable.

The Head of Communications is a new senior role with leadership responsibility for:
Developing and delivering an integrated communications and engagement strategy to bring the diocesan vision, strategic plan and key programme areas to life, and build buy-in with stakeholders (e.g. parishes and congregations in the diocese) across a range of media.

Our mission is to supports adults, young people and children living with long-term neurological conditions and/or neuro diversities to access specialist therapies, support, and information in a safe, supportive environment to help them improve their physical and mental well-being.
The Merlin Neuro Therapy Centre, located in mid-Cornwall, is a Cornish charity providing a place of support, therapy, information, and community for people living with a long-term neurological condition and/or those who are neurodiverse. We give financial assistance to our beneficiaries in the form of subsidised specialist therapies. Our purpose built, fully accessible Centre, opened in 2009 and offers physiotherapy; exercise classes; Ayres’ Sensory Integration (ASI) therapy (a discipline of Occupational Therapy), and oxygen therapy. The Primrose Hydrotherapy Pool facility, which was built in the grounds, opened in 2019, providing both individual and group hydrotherapy sessions.
Living with a long-term health condition brings many challenges, not just for those diagnosed, but also for family members. Symptoms can affect physical, cognitive, emotional, and psychological health. For our clients who have sensory processing difficulties, due to being neurodivergent, everyday situations and relationships can be perplexing and taxing.
Our main aims are to improve the health and well-being of our community; help people manage their symptoms and situations; and support their main care giver, often a family member. Services are delivered by a highly experienced team, with a broad range of skills and experience in delivering specialist therapies.
The Role

The Role
Core responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining and implementing content plan for social media channels (primarily Instagram, X, Tiktok and Facebook) including drafting copy, creating content and ensure consistent posting for all channels with the guidance of Digital campaigner/Digital Campaign Lead and campaign team
- Producing a range of daily digital content for Uplift’s social media channels - from simple social-first graphic design, to lo-fi effective social video content

Job description
Pride Cymru is a registered charity made up of a large core group of volunteers with a small team of p/t members of staff. We work all year round to challenge homophobia, biphobia, transphobia and to promote equality and inclusivity for all. We are most known for our annual Pride festival but we also run a number of exciting projects throughout the year in areas relating to sport, sexual health and LGBTQ+ history.
We are looking for a Social Media & Content Creation officer to oversee Pride Cymru’s current social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn). The role will involve planning, designing and creating high quality digital content, engaging with audiences and keeping up with social media trends.
This role will involve actively working with both our volunteer core team and our part time members of staff to ensure that all areas of our work are fully represented across our social media channels.

The Social Media and Content Manager reports into the Senior Digital Manager and is part of the Public Fundraising and Engagement team.
