Thames Reach runs projects and services that help to end homelessness in and around London. We work directly with homeless people on the streets and in hostels. We work to prevent vulnerable people from becoming homeless. We help formerly homeless people get their lives back on track. We help people find work and access training and volunteering opportunities.

About this role…
We are looking for a Senior Practitioner to join the Martha Jones House team.
Thames Reach’s hostels are transitional spaces where a 24 hour staff team support people to move in, assess their needs, and quickly identify the best place for them to move on to next. Skilled staff teams develop personalised support plans to ensure people are ready to move on and are accessing support with their health, substance misuse, criminal justice and life skills needs

You will be:
- Overseeing the day-to-day management and staffing of a fast-paced 50-bed hostel.
- Responsible for directly line-managing the staff team; carrying out inductions, supervisions, probation reviews and appraisals.
- Reporting incidents to senior management and commissioners and ensure staff are trained and confident in incident response and health & safety protocol.
- Leading on referrals in and out of the hostel; supporting the team to focus on engaging service users towards positive move-on.
- Working closely with the Lead Manager & in-house Clinical Psychologist; fostering a culture of high performance and continual striving to improve upon successes throughout your team.
- Developing and managing partnerships with key agencies across London. Working closely with the Lambeth Pathway Manager to support smooth & timely moves across the Pathway.
You will be:

- Experienced in organising the operations of a complex, busy service.
- A decisive and effective leader.
- An excellent communicator able to form and maintain effective working relationships with all partners.
- Experienced in directly manage staff, oversee the management of others and ensure the services finances are well managed.

Family Support Worker
£24,000 pa + benefits (including 25 days annual leave, company car and pension)

About the role:
We are looking to appoint a Family Support Worker to deliver high-quality family support services as part of our Thames Valley Team.
Reporting to the Family Support Manager and working in partnership with health, education, and social care professionals, you will take responsibility for providing needs-led emotional, social, and practical support to families where a child/young person has a life threatening or terminal illness.
Having worked in a stressful and emotional environment you will have a genuine interest in building supportive relationships and helping people; and having provided bereavement support to families, you understand processes of grief, loss, and change - and how best to help others deal with its impact.
Location:
This role covers Thames Valley and surrounding areas. The role does require travel, however you have the freedom to plan your own diary around the demands of both the families you are working with, your team, and also any personal appointments you may need to attend.
What we’re looking for:
· An experienced child health, education or social care professional - applications will be particularly welcome from those who have worked in a community environment and those with a recognised qualification in education, health or social care.
· A warm, inclusive approach to achieving goals quickly and correctly.
· Practiced in child protection, information sharing and the rules around data protection - you lead by example, drawing on your own professional experience and working within established guidelines.
· Practical and people-oriented - you will thrive working at a fast pace whilst maintaining accuracy and be a confident user of IT (including MSOffice)
· A persuasive and open communicator, you will work collaboratively with your team and volunteers to ensure delivery of a high-quality service and support fundraising colleagues by writing case studies and family updates
· A practical knowledge of diversity issues affecting children, young people, and their families – aware that being responsive to others needs and concerns, is essential.

The Diocese of London is seeking a Youth Ministry Advisor to play a key role in advancing our Christian mission by resourcing and empowering churches in their work with young people. Kingston Carers' Network (KCN) is an independent charity providing information, advice, advocacy and support to unpaid carers of all ages who are caring for someone with an illness, disability or substance misuse problem.
We are looking for a dynamic and creative individual with a passion for communications and social change. We are currently supporting over 4000 carers, including over 800 young carers, who are caring for a relative or friend with a disability, illness, mental health problem or substance addiction. The successful candidate will have the ability to build and cultivate relationships with local organisations, as they will be managing our various social media channels. Recent experience of working in a communications role within the charity or public sector is essential.
