ODAC continues to be on a journey of organisational change and growth, with the financial implications that come with that, having begun to diversify our business model to expand our programmes.

We are therefore recruiting a Finance Manager to lead the implementation and delivery of best-practice financial management and planning, ensuring that ODAC is ready to continue to increase our charitable impact.

This is the first Finance Manager role in the organisation and the role will involve using your knowledge and experience to develop the way that ODAC works. In recent years, financial management has been led by the Chief Executive, with a freelance book-keeping contractor and a 0.5 days/ week Finance Administrator, and we have an experienced Finance Lead on the Board of Trustees.

The Finance Manager will lead on bookkeeping, financial management, and providing support and advice to budget holders. They will collaborate with the Director on financial planning and reporting, and will be responsible for reviewing and implementing best practices, ensuring that the charity’s financial functions are fit for its size, purpose, and growth.

WORKING HOURS: 0.4 FTE / 2 days per week (16 hours)

PAY: £35,000-£38,000 FTE depending on experience pro rata (£14,000 – £15,200 real salary) per annum

Gunnersbury Park is a beautiful public space between Acton, Brentford, Chiswick and Ealing in West London. Purchased for the nation from the Rothschild family, it was opened to the public by Neville Chamberlain in 1926. A major £50m restoration project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund was completed in 2018, the park and garden is Grade II listed.

The Charitable Trust’s aim is to make Gunnersbury an outstanding, sustainable green space, celebrating its unique heritage and providing a wide range of educational and cultural activities, events and facilities accessible to all members of the community. Also, to conserve, manage and develop Gunnersbury Estate as a sustainable, recreational, cultural, and educational resource for the benefit of, and in partnership with, all of its local communities.

We are delighted to be working with Gunnersbury Park Charitable Trust to recruit a new Park Manager to join the team at this very exciting time in its development.

The role:

This person will have responsibility for the management, maintenance and improvement of the 185 acres of sports, nature areas, heritage parkland and gardens for the benefit of the local community and beyond. This will involve extensive horticultural management responsibilities in addition to a broad range of support, logistical and administrative activities. These will include extensive stakeholder engagement, contract management, finance and budgeting, public health and safety, procurement and team member management and development. This is a very broad role with a wide array of systems management and day to day park management responsibilities. This person will also be a true ambassador for the Park, both with members of the public and those who come into contact with the Park professionally.

The person:

The successful candidate will have extensive Park Management experience in a similar sized public park or community green space. They will have experience of managing service contracts, managing in-house teams, developing volunteer and outreach programs and ideally, of successfully applying for Grant funding in similar spaces and delivering on these agreements. A warm and approachable person, the ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for Park management and involving the public in regular use and patronage of these special green spaces. This person will also be numerate and well-organised with good logistical, administrative and back office management experience.

This person’s role as an ambassador for the Gunnersbury Park can not be overstated, this will be a core aspect of the role and we are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys managing big public parks, green spaces, bio-diversity and preserving these spaces for future generations.

Your primary role will be to support the development of good quality voluntary provision for children, young people and families. As part of a countywide team, you will be expected to actively support the planning of countywide programmes/events with your colleagues, providing opportunities and training on SCVYS objectives. 

The key purpose of the Service Impact & Youth Engagement Manager role is to proactively support the delivery of a range of service functions that meet the needs of and promote growth within the voluntary and community sector in Staffordshire, specifically services focused on children, young people and families. This includes:

1. Support the SCVYS team to work to agreed key performance indicators including outcomes aligned to the SCVYS Strategic Plan and various contract delivery plans. Utilising the Lamplight Case Management System aligned to the Value of Infrastructure Programme functions.

2. Regularly reporting on all relevant performance information to a variety of funders including Staffordshire County Council, the Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, the Young Foundation and the Integrated Care Board in line with agreed timescales and contract monitoring requirements.

3. Alongside SCVYS managers support and contribute to all elements of internal Quality Assurance ensuring SCVYS remains committed to excellence across everything we do and all we say about what we do.

4. Line management of the Youth Engagement team including an exciting portfolio of programmes including UK Youth Parliament, Young Community Researchers, elected Countywide Youth Council, Summer War Graves project and any other pieces of commissioned work, alongside partners including Staffordshire University, Staffordshire County Council and the German War Graves Commission (Volksbund).

5. Contribute where required to any additional externally commissioned work that includes research, consultation and evaluation elements as and when required within capacity limitations.

6.  The Evaluation & Learning Manager will work closely with the Assistant Director of Research & Impact and internal/external colleagues. Chapter2 is a young and growing charity that is uniquely focused on helping one of the most at-risk groups within our communities: fatherless boys. Millions of boys in the UK are growing up without any meaningful contact with their father and the consequences can be profound. Chapter2 is combatting this worsening trend across Reading by offering dedicated long-term male mentors for fatherless boys.

We have two mentoring programmes:

1. Partnership programme: The provision of trained and assessed mentors for young persons is achieved in partnership with a “Partner Organisation” such as a local church. 

2. Centralised programme: The provision of trained and assessed mentors for young persons is achieved independently by Chapter2. 

This role is an exciting opportunity to help grow our Centralised programme. This role is ideally suited to an outgoing self-starter who is comfortable working within an open and fast-moving environment. 

The main purpose of the role is to recruit, train and supervise mentors.  We are looking for a highly motivated individual whose personality, experience and skills are flexible and adept in navigating a range of responsibilities. We would consider either a part-time (minimum 3 days a week) or full-time position for this role.

General 

• Support the continued growth of the charity as it seeks to respond to the significant need in the Reading area for mentors for fatherless boys. In particular, through providing support for the Centralised programme. 

• Being supportive and sympathetic towards Chapter2’s Christian ethos. 

Mentors 

• Develop and implement a strategy for recruiting new male mentors for the Centralised programme. 

• Assess and train volunteer male mentors. 

• Monitor the progress of the mentoring relationship through regular in-house monitoring and supervision. At the minimum you will hold monthly meetings with mentors to review progress either virtually or in person. 

• Utilise feedback to engage and encourage mentors (videos, statistics, testimonies) and to contribute to the wider Chapter2 external communications. 

• Help to develop, attend and present at training or recruitment events. 

• Attend group activities and mentor events. 

Mums/Guardians and Mentees 

• Support in updating our referrals database on Charity Suite (you will be provided with training on how to use this system). 

• Manage regular communication with mums/guardians. 

• Arrange and attend pre-matching and matching meetings. 

• Attend professional meetings when appropriate.

• Contribute to the ongoing assessment of the centralised mentoring programme through the co-ordination of an external evaluation process.

Can you help us deliver our vision for the future?

After growing the business over the past few years, we now wish to make a step-change in how we care for and interpret the Nantgarw China Works and Museum site and enhance its viability. Reporting to the Chairman and Trustees, the appointed candidate will play a leading role in turning that aspiration into reality at this volunteer-staffed site.

Nantgarw China Works is where the world’s finest porcelain was made 200 years ago. Today it is an independent museum telling the history of ceramic production at the site, a working pottery where the lost recipe for making the historic porcelain has been successfully recreated, and an educational institution offering some 500 workshop sessions every year. The remains of the historic works are the best preserved in Wales and of UK importance.

Although the initial appointment is for 18 months, we hope that the appointee can be considered for a permanent position.

They are now seeking a dedicated Service Manager for their well-respected homeless night shelter in St Albans.

Our client’s homeless shelter provides emergency accommodation for up to 12 single homeless people in St Albans each night.; their dedicated staff team offer a trauma-informed, safe environment which is person-centred and supports beneficiaries to access the help they need. As Service Manager, you’ll support your team and be responsible for overseeing support, advice and assistance to beneficiaries who are/have been living on the streets so that they are able to access and maintain a safe and secure home of their own.

Digital Fundraising and Marketing Manager

Location: Hybrid/ London Head Office and remote
Hours: Full time, 5 days a week needed – 34.5 hours per week

The opportunity

The Society for the Protection of Animals Abroad (SPANA) is the charity for the working animals of the world. Since 1923, working through a series of global projects and partnerships across 23 low-income countries, SPANA has supported the welfare of working donkeys, horses, camels, oxen and other working animals in communities that depend on them for water, transport, agriculture, and their very survival.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Digital Programme management
• Develop, implement and optimise innovative multi-channel digital strategies that drive online visibility and performance on platforms such as web, e-mail, organic social and paid media.
• Develop, implement and optimise effective digital campaigns to target audiences to meet fundraising KPIs, enhance brand awareness and drive new leads.
• Create compelling digital content – including e-mail campaigns, landing pages, social media posts and paid media ads – ensuring assets are tailored to respective channels and target audiences.
• Implement SEO strategies to improve online visibility and drive organic growth. Ensure all digital content is SEO optimised and complies with brand guidelines.
• Manage external web agencies and oversee the development and maintenance of the SPANA website.
• Work collaboratively with the Digital Engagement Manager to build and maintain an integrated digital activity calendar, house style and overarching digital strategy.
• Lead the charge in shaping SPANA’s online presence and driving strategic online growth.
• Programme support and administration
• Work with colleagues to ensure digital activities comply with all aspects of fundraising and data regulation, including in relation to marketing preferences and GDPR.
• Provide advice and support to colleagues across SPANA on making digital activities as efficient and effective as possible in achieving strategic objectives.
• Work with the Head Marketing & Digital to set and manage annual digital budgets.
• Provide support for digital team colleagues during absences.
• Provide social media monitoring and out of hours cover where necessary.
• Stay informed of upcoming trends and developments within the field of digital marketing and make recommendations accordingly.

The successful candidate will have:

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare and, be either working towards or has achieved the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.

St Christopher’s Fellowship has a minimum age requirement of 21 for roles working directly with children and young people in our residential and semi-independent Homes

Our client is one of the largest women's hostels in the UK for vulnerable women affected by homelessness. They offer support to women with a range of complex needs, including substance misuse, mental health issues and domestic violence, and provide these support services in a warm, welcoming and secure environment. They are now recruiting for a strong and supportive manager to help lead their Support Services. This role is initially a 6 month fixed term contract with possibility of permanency. 

As Support Services Manager, you will line manage a team of frontline staff and will oversee the Support and Night services, consisting of 30 bed spaces for women with high support complex needs; the service aims to offer holistic support to these women, working alongside a range of partner organisations to facilitate a step-down move-on for women into semi-independent living. You will work to create and maintain key partnerships, continually ensuring that a high quality of service is delivered to all service users of the Project.

To be considered for this position, you must have significant housing management experience, as well as extensive knowledge and appreciation of the challenges faced by homeless women. You must have demonstrable experience of leading frontline staff, as well as significant safeguarding experience. You will also have proven working experience of contract monitoring and of setting and influencing strategy. Ultimately you will be enthusiastic, passionate and dedicated to leading a team to deliver the best quality of support to vulnerable homeless women.
