We are looking for a Senior Multiple Needs Independent Domestic Abuse Advocate  

Salary: £30,000-£32,000

Location: Ealing Women’s Wellness Zone & Hammersmith – Advance Head Office

Hours:   35 Hours per week (a late shift once per week till 7pm)

Contract: Fixed Term – 12 months (from start of employment)

About the role:

The Senior Multiple Needs Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) will work within a dynamic, crisis intervention, advocacy and support service based at the CGL Ealing Women’s Wellness Zone.  The IDVA will provide support in the local community and at the Ealing Women’s Wellness Zone.  The successful candidate will be co-located up to 5 days a week at the Women’s Wellness Zone.

The IDVA will be closely working alongside CGL colleagues/team to deliver support to women with a range of complex support needs including substance misuse, mental health, domestic abuse, sex working, trafficking, and offending behaviour. The IDVA will work in collaboration with their team members to holistically support women in the borough of Ealing to achieve sustained recovery, improved health and wellbeing, helping women to manage/mitigate risks, and empowering them to reach their fullest potential in society as well as ensuring the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process.

The Senior Multiple Needs IDVA will assess the needs and risks of survivors, carry out short and longer-term risk management, safety planning and support. As well as identify and refer to services appropriate to their needs. They will also proactively advocate and advice women of their rights and options for seeking help and support from other agencies, encouraging them to engage with other agencies, and help co-ordinate the provision of multi-agency support where necessary.

About You:

To be successful as the Senior Multiple Needs IDVA you will need to have:

Excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on women and children, of best practice in supporting survivors of domestic abuse, and of the MARAC. As well as understanding of drug and alcohol issues and experience of working within a related field.

Bringing your experience of risk and needs assessment, safety and support planning, and crisis planning and successfully managing high numbers of referrals and experience of working in a co-located setting with another agency and providing consultations/briefings to professionals to support in upskilling them around Domestic Abuse. The candidate will have experience of partnership working and of maintaining excellent working relationships with a range of stakeholders.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to work as part of an innovative service, designed to offer multi-disciplinary wrap-around support to women with multiple needs, with the aim of facilitating long-term recovery.

We are seeking an operational and people focussed Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our Executive Team. You will drive development of all financial and operational management, processes and reporting, overseeing the organisation’s day-to-day operations including the leadership of Finance, People, Governance, Fundraising, Marketing and Communications and Digital.

The successful candidate will have held broad finance and operations positions, with a track record of interacting at Board level and presenting clear financial and management information. Whilst you don’t have to be financially qualified, we do need someone with strong financial acumen and demonstrable ability to monitor, interpret and communicate financial information effectively. You will have experience in implementing new and/or successful improvements to existing systems and processes, with a track record of driving organisational change. The post holder will have a good understanding of regulation and best practice alongside the ability to develop efficient processes and controls in line with our governance framework. Ensuring that people are at the centre of the Florence Nightingale Foundation (FNF) you will play a key role within the Executive team supporting the charity to achieve sustainable growth and delivery of efficient and effective services ensuring plans are developed and implemented, and targets are met.

Principle Duties and Areas of Responsibility

Operational Leadership and Governance

• Overall accountability for the operations of the foundation
• Oversee and optimise internal processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and productivity
• Evaluate and improve overall performance by gathering, analysing and interpreting data and metrics
• Oversee robust risk management processes and protocols proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks
• Oversee the development of all necessary policies to ensure safe and healthy working environments
• Ensure FNF is compliant with all financial, tax, charity and legal requirements

Financial Management

• Oversee the development and monitoring of the financial strategy for the organisation, providing recommendations, information and guidance to the Trustees and Executive team to inform decision making
• Maintain and review polices and processes to ensure good financial controls are in place that meet both legal and tax requirements. This includes maintaining appropriate records and controls over restricted funds to ensure that these are used and reported appropriately
• Support the Finance Manager and Executive team in setting FNF’s annual budget, with robust analysis and justification of intended expenditure, financial forecasts, cashflow etc. securing active engagement and ownership from all internal budget holders
• Oversee the financial reports required to review progress against plans and forecasts throughout the year and ensuring these are disseminated and understood across the organisation
• Accountable for regular financial updates to Trustees including the Finance Investment Committee (FIC) and Board meetings along with the preparation of the financial aspects of the annual report and accounts
• Oversee the management and development of VAT reporting for FNF and trading subsidiary
• Oversee the financial aspect of FNF Global delivery to ensure compliance with HMRC

Systems and controls

• Lead in the development, implementation and monitoring of effective procurement systems and procedures, ensuring that FNF achieves best value and drives efficiencies through our external contracts
• Lead on the annual audit in accordance with current practice and the Charity Commissions Standard of Recommended Practice (SORP), liaising and managing the relationship with the auditors
• Oversee the operation of the payroll process and related HMRC contract ensuring that payments are made in an accurate and timely way
• Work with the Finance Committee to manage the investments for FNF, overseeing regular reviews of the investment policy and portfolio, liaising with external partners as necessary

Fundraising, Events, Marketing and Communications

• Provide leadership around income generation, making sure that this is located within the strategic framework and day to day thinking of the Foundation
• Provide leadership and direction for Marketing and Communications, ensuring that overall plans are in support of our strategic objectives
• Ensure all income generation activities from within this team are fully integrated across the Foundation, recognising the importance of inter departmental relationships
• Lead the team in the planning, communications, income generation and execution of the annual Florence Nightingale Commemoration Service and any similar high profile events.

Digital

• Provide strategic leadership in overseeing digital initiatives, guiding the development and execution of a comprehensive digital strategy

HR

• Provide expert professional judgement, advice, and guidance to the Executive and Senior Leadership teams in developing, monitoring, and implementing people strategies, policies and procedures, workforce and training that meet service needs.

Climate & Water Manager - Resilient Water Accelerator

Contract: Permanent, Full Time,

Location: The role can be based in the UK or USA

For the UK, London, Hybrid: WaterAid is located at Canary Wharf, London and this will be your location and contract base. In order to apply for this post, you must be able to demonstrate your eligibility to work in the UK. A minimum of 40% of working time is spent face to face, either in London office, or as a result of external engagement or travel for WaterAid.

For the USA: USA-wide, Remote with a preference for the Seattle area/US West Coast.

About WaterAid:
The climate crisis is a water crisis. Around the world, people are feeling the effects of climate change through water, including flooding, droughts, sea level rise, and irregular rainfall. Climate change is affecting seasonal and long-term water availability, meaning we can no longer rely on rain, river flows and aquifers. 

The Resilient Water Accelerator is an initiative designed to increase the flow of private and public finance into water projects that help the most climate-vulnerable communities build resilience to climate change. Despite the high need, only 3% of total climate finance flows go towards water. Our mission is to demonstrate the business case for increased and enhanced public and private investment in water-related deals in emerging economies that strengthen resilience for climate-vulnerable communities and are replicable so that millions more can benefit. We are working to increase the speed, scale, and replicability of water investment by creating a pipeline of bankable projects, bringing together the right mix of financing with the right commercial structures and partners, and supporting improvements in the enabling environment.

About the Team:
We are a friendly, supportive, globally distributed team, bringing on-the-ground expertise and comprehensive perspectives, combining climate policy, water economics, private finance, measurement and evaluation, and governance. We are currently housed within WaterAid – the world’s largest NGO focused on providing water, sanitation, and hygiene outcomes for people in developing countries, and are one of WaterAid’s flagship programmes. We have a close partnership with Global Development Incubator, which is providing incubation support for the RWA.

The RWA currently has 11 staff, based in 6 countries, and we have plans to build the team to around 18-20 over the next couple of years, to extend our delivery from 2 countries (currently Nigeria and Bangladesh) to 6, and to secure additional financing to complement the investment we have secured from the UK Government.

About the Role:
The Manager – Climate & Water will play an important role in this small, international team by managing the integration of ideas, policy frameworks, and findings from research and practice into the Resilient Water Accelerator (RWA)’s programmes in our target countries and at a global level. They will report directly into the RWA’s Director of Programmes and Investment, shaping and delivering the future RWA as a highly effective and impactful learning organisation.

• Project management to ensure RWA’s Programmes and Investment-related activities are delivered on time and within budget. Using agreed project management software, track and report RWA’s programme-related deliverables. 
• Conduct research and integrate findings to strengthen RWA Programmes design and delivery: Provide regular inputs and updates on water-related climate, and climate-related water policies, practices, and trends in RWA’s focus countries and target markets and at a global level using quantitative and qualitative approaches, to inform RWA’s understanding of local markets and project origination & early-stage development efforts. 
• Support the creation and rollout of tools, templates, and business processes for RWA team members to integrate climate policy and climate finance into program operations: Collaboratively design, iterate, and improve RWA’s suite of tools and methods for use throughout RWA’s programming, including but not limited to: Understanding Local Markets (ULM), which includes scoping new markets for RWA operations and maintaining an understanding of the markets where we operate; Deal Origination and Early Stage Development, to integrate climate policy and finance into local decision making about opportunities and challenges; 
• Summarize, synthesize, and effectively communicate climate and water-related ideas for internal (RWA staff & board) and external (specific & general) audiences: Support communications strategy and audience segmentation efforts; contribute to RWA’s external communications and knowledge products, to share and amplify how RWA is thinking and learning through diverse media, e.g., newsletter, blogs, field notes, podcast, social media. 

About you:

• At least 5 years’ experience working in on climate-related issues, with a preference for climate policy in middle-income countries and/or climate-related finance.
• A passion for effective Project Management, process design, and continuous improvement cycles with an organised and structured approach to work, managing deadlines and competing priorities.
• Strong quantitative and qualitative research, analytical, and modelling skills, with an ability to summarize, synthesize, and articulate findings in clear and coherent ways for diverse audiences.
• Intellectually curious and flexible, with a willingness to explore and test diverse ideas, try new things, and approach learning with a sense of humility and humour.
• Familiarity and experience working with GIS / other large-scale datasets to create models and conduct research and analyses preferred.

This is an excellent opportunity to take on an exciting role within the Humanitarian Team of the Programme & Policy Department/Programme Management Team.

We are looking for someone with a good understanding of policies and practices managing projects with the FCDO and DEC. A good grasp of programme and financial management combined with an ability to provide distance support to Country Offices and partners.

Director of Finance & Operations

Job Title: Director of Finance & Operations

Salary: Circa £85,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Location: Hybrid working blending home working with our locations in Chelsea or Harefield Hospital, with a minimum of 40% time spent in the office.

This is a pivotal role within our charity, leading the finance and operations teams and supporting the Charity’s strategic direction. Reporting directly to our CEO, the Director of Finance & Operations is responsible for overseeing our finances and core services, including HR and IT, and acting as Company Secretary. You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, Board of Trustees, and external stakeholders to ensure the charity is well-run, financially resilient, and operationally effective.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Oversight: Develop and execute strategies for Finance & Operations to ensure the charity’s assets and infrastructure provide maximum impact for beneficiaries.

• Senior Leadership Contribution: Play an active role as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, providing collective leadership, contributing to strategic decision-making, and supporting the CEO in leading the organisation.

• Financial Management: Lead the finance function, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and statutory accounts for an annual income of around £11m.

• Governance: Act as Company Secretary, supporting the Board of Trustees and ensuring compliance with corporate governance requirements.

A summary of what we’re looking for:

• A fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CCAB, or CIMA) with significant experience in leading finance functions, ideally within the not-for-profit sector.

You’ll be working with the local church to manage the delivery of Resurgo's award-winning Spear Programme. In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

The Lead Coach is primarily responsible for overseeing the training room and group sessions with young people. You will help shape the training environment and will confidently adapt and deliver materials and sessions to work within the group’s development towards work readiness.

Delivery of Spear Programme - Group and 1:1 coaching [60%]

• Preparing and coaching Spear Foundation sessions and 1-1s, ensuring that young people are engaged, retained and work-ready by the end of this initial phase of the programme
• Building relationships with young people on the programme and managing culture, and attitudes in the training room
• Adapting the Spear coaching material according to the needs of the Trainees and managing behaviour effectively
• Handling safeguarding
• Taking a lead on rating the work readiness of the trainees and making sure data is inputted and used correctly on salesforce

• Delivering weekly Spear Career sessions (including running workshops with past Trainees), maintaining records and reporting on statistics, and creatively developing ongoing relationships with Spear Trainees

Training the Graduate Coach [10%]

• Contributing towards the training and developing of the Graduate Coach by modelling excellent coaching and giving regular feedback

Trainee recruitment [10%]

• Developing relationships with Job Centres and local referral agencies to ensure that the maximum number of Spear Trainees are enrolled on each programme. This involves liaising with referral agencies, active face-to-face recruitment and monitoring recruitment statistics

Continuous professional development

• Continually engaging in professional development, including being part of Resurgo’s wider coaching programmes and possibly supporting on leading internal training such as Grad Coach Training

Active participation in and support for church team and mission

• As the Spear programme is run in partnership with a local church partner, you will establish a strong personal connection with the church to develop the engagement and backing of church members and help build a strong network of supporters for the Spear programme. This is a key role that will work closely with the Senior Communications Manager, Head of Public Engagement and Senior Digital Marketing Manager.

RJ4All is looking for an innovative UK Operations Director who will drive impactful social justice projects and community initiatives while fostering strategic growth and income generation. You will oversee our dynamic UK-based operations out of the Rotherhithe Community Centre, work closely with the Director, and lead our Centre-based team. 

Restorative Justice for All (RJ4All) is a charitable, user-led international institute with expertise in preventing and addressing harm at the individual, community and inter-state levels. We are one of the world’s leading experts in transferring complex criminological and social justice concepts into practice through real-life pilots and community projects. 

The UK Operations Director will lead on the delivery, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of RJ4All’s UK-based services, and especially those run from the RJ4All Rotherhithe Community Centre. It is expected that they will generate income for the UK operations and contribute to new ideas for UK-based projects that fall within RJ4All’s agreed strategy. Finally, the post holder will act in place of the Director when they are unavailable or for any other agreed reason.

The Upper Room (TUR) works with a wide range of financially and socially disadvantaged groups including homeless people, people with long-term mental health conditions, asylum-seekers, refugees and ex-offenders – helping them to improve their lives and become productive members of society. Central to our offering is our UR4Meals service, providing free, home-cooked food to people who cannot afford to provide for themselves. We are also very proud of our UR4Driving programme, which supports people recently out of prison with free driving lessons in exchange for community volunteering. Gaining a driving licence greatly enhances their future employability prospects and helps break the cycle of re-offending. Additionally, our UR4Jobs project focusses on both client wellbeing and breaking down the many barriers to employment faced by disadvantaged people every day.

• Lead on the development and execution of financial strategy, financial planning, budgeting and cost control for the ACO and related charities.
• Key advisor to the Secretary General, management team and trustees on the overall financial landscape for the ACO and its on-going performance and position.
• Manage and continuously improve the efficient running of financial operations including the preparation of management accounts, cash flow forecasts, payroll, tax returns, and management of creditors and debtors.
• Ensure that an adequate control framework exists.
• Manage and continuously improve financial reporting ensuring accurate, timely and appropriate information for colleagues.
• Manage budgeting and planning processes, providing all appropriate financial data, and supporting budget-holding staff in all areas.
• Support funding applications and subsequent donor reporting to grant making bodies with project and programme budgeting.
• Manage the preparation of statutory accounts and be the main contact with external auditors.
• Be vigilant to financial and operational risks and to report and mitigate such risks.

The successful candidate will have:

• Ideally, understanding and knowledge of the UK charity finance environment.
• Experience in budgeting and cost control, including provision of reports and analysis to an audience with different levels of financial literacy.
• Strong financial leadership skills capable of directing financial strategy and delivering highest quality financial management.
• Experience in working with diverse stakeholders both within and outside an organisation
• Experience in managing and motivating teams.
• Experience of upgrading control processes and implementing change.
• A full finance qualification, or the ability to prove they are qualitied by experience.
• The willingness to travel throughout the Anglican Communion.

The Corporate Partnerships Lead will play a significant role in generation income, networks, and relationships by increasing the profile of the Marylebone Project, by aiming to partner with companies looking to enhance the corporate social responsibility.

This role will work closely with the Marketing Lead at Marylebone, and our national Fundraising and Communications Team as part of Church Army, to achieve the fundraising targets associated with the Marylebone Project in line with Church Army’s objectives and values.

40% of children from disadvantaged backgrounds leave primary school in England each year unable to read to the expected standard. Chapter One is a fast-growing charity, with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills they need to thrive.

Many children fall behind with reading simply because they lack the opportunity to practise: we work to ensure that every child has 1:1 reading support at the time they need it most. Chapter One’s unique, online, reading support programme pairs struggling 5 to 8 year olds in over 11 areas of the UK with over 3000 volunteers who are recruited from a range of local and national businesses.

We are seeking a proactive, energetic and enthusiastic Corporate Partnerships Officer to be an integral part of a team which aims to both maximise corporate income and deliver an excellent partner experience. This is an opportunity for an early career professional to learn about charity-business partnerships in a dynamic, small charity which is flexible and agile. 

Reporting to our Corporate Partnerships Manager, but also working closely with our Business Development Manager, you’ll support them both to deliver our annual volunteer targets and maintain our strong partner retention rate (currently 88%). This will involve supporting both the identification, acquisition, and onboarding of new partners, but also the account management of a portfolio of existing partners.
