Our fundraising team bridges the journey of the animals in our care with the wider public, demonstrating how their contributions enable us to support every dog and cat. We now have several new roles within this team to further our mission.
We are looking for two Direct Marketing Officers to manage and deliver a series of high standard direct marketing campaigns across our Regular Giving programme; recruiting, retaining and upgrading regular donors to generate agreed income through a variety of direct marketing methods such as direct dialogue, DRTV, digital, and direct mail; encouraging regular monthly gifts or support via one of our main products such as general Regular Giving and Sponsorship, our Lottery, Value Exchange programme and other methods of committed giving as they arise.
Please note that there are two positions available - one focusing on Lottery & Lead Generation, one focusing on Regular Giving & Sponsorship. Please include in your supporting statement which role you are interested in.

About the role
This is not a generic marketing role! Previous project management experience will ensure you are able to plan and execute a range of projects in parallel to meet committed timescales, within a budget.

Ideally you will have proven track record in fundraising or marketing, and desirably hold a relevant degree in this area. People skills are integral to this post as you will be working with a range of diverse stakeholders to deliver marketing activity to meet targets. You must have the ability to understand audiences and impart information and key messages clearly, concisely and convincingly. Since 2018, Connect: North Korea (CNK) has grown from a small community start-up into an effective and impactful organisation with an annual income of approaching £500,000, mainly through grants from Trusts and Foundations. As our new Individual Giving Officer, you will play an exciting role in growing income from our individual and corporate base to help us reach more vulnerable members of our community. Inspire our mailing list subscribers to give to us for the first time with the aim of increasing our new donor pool by 15% in 2025

Report monthly on individual giving progress, income raised, number of new supporters/followers, conversion rates, offering insight on ROI, learnings and incorporate this learning to improve how we do things in future.
Fundraising compliance:

Save all profiles, donations, giving history, gift aid agreements, correspondence, and communications with supporters on CNK CRM database. Uphold GDPR and comply with fundraising best practice.
Staff & Volunteer Management

Create and manage volunteers to gather case studies, compile research, develop content for social media and organise events with an eye to increasing awareness and income for CNK.

Essential skills and experience:
You will have at least three, and ideally five, years experience of:

THE ROLE
- We are going through an exciting period of development, with significant opportunity for growth within our corporate partnerships and high levels of interest to build-on and develop. Income Generation
- Account manage a portfolio of corporate partners and public sector organisations, to meet operational priorities and annual income targets, providing an excellent supporter experience
- Develop funding propositions and case for support to meet priorities, working closely with Head of Fundraising and Head of Programmes
- Collaborate with Network Managers on regional corporate partnerships, to ensure consistent supporter experience and identify opportunities for development, as appropriate.
- Manage prospect pipeline with a focus on priority sectors, working within wider capacity for new business
- Promote payroll giving and other employee fundraising activities and campaigns.
- Oversee calendar of third party events, liaising with external partners
- Provide internal management information and reporting to colleagues, as required.
Engagement
- Develop a suite of engagement materials working with Communications Manager and external suppliers.
- Collaborate with Communications Manager on annual communications plans, including fundraising campaigns in support of International Women’s Day and The Big Give.
- Work with Communications Manager to ensure regular updates to website and other digital channels (social, e-newsletters), identifying opportunities for partnership activities.
Stewardship
- Develop account management processes, ensuring timely impact reporting or other agreed deliverables.
- Ensure all donations and supporters are thanked in a timely and appropriate mode to their giving channel.
- Keep all relevant donor contact history and financial information up-to-date on Salesforce, ensuring adherence to GDPR and other relevant good practice.
- Work with Head of Fundraising & Communications and CEO to deliver appropriate partner recognition including events and other engagement activities.

The Role
The Major Gifts team includes managing and growing income from Major Donors, Mid-Value Donors, Trusts and Foundations as well as a small number of organisations. Through the development of new international cases for support, it is the intention to grow Major Gifts income from new and existing UK and international foundations and donors.
As Head of Major Gifts, you will work in collaboration with the Head of Individual Giving to evolve and continuously improve fundraising activity. This role is part of the charity’s Senior Management Team and will deliver positive change to enhance the organisations approach to Major Gifts activity.
Your main duties will include:
• Leading on the Major Gifts strategy development to produce a new Major Gifts strategy and roadmap that significantly evolves Major Giving at the Sanctuary, growing income through international grants and capital fundraising.
• Managing a number of high value accounts in collaboration with the Senior Philanthropy Manager, building strategic relationships at the highest level to deliver six figure gifts.
• Proactively identifying and delivering new income growth opportunities for Major Gifts.
• Tailoring and developing Cases for Support to attract financial support of the Sanctuary’s core work and projects, and presenting and pitching to potential significant funders.
• Represent the charity, managing and attending events and meetings with other senior staff, ambassadors, volunteers and supporters.
• Building relationships and gaining support across the organisation to quickly partner with the Major Gifts team to maximise income for the charity.
• Leading the Major Gifts team, using the charity’s performance measurement and personal development planning procedures, to train, coach, and mentor, upskilling knowledge and experience within key areas of delivery.

About You
You will have:
• Demonstrable ability to lead at a strategic senior leadership level within a Major Gifts or Philanthropy team of a similar size, with the ability to self-manage and prioritise workload.

We’re looking for a strong and collaborative project manager with good all-round experience of channel marketing for acquisition. Experience in delivering DRTV and digital are essential and experience developing RG or prize-led products is desirable.
You will need to be confident setting and managing budgets and KPIs and able to accurately forecast and report against large budgets across multiple products and channels. This includes using a data-led approach towards strategic annual planning, budgets and operational plans for your area, with your team’s input. POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Manager of Philanthropic Fundraising will serve as the cornerstone of administrative support for ULI’s philanthropic fundraising initiatives in Europe.

- Oversee and coordinate design and development of marketing collateral, presentations supporting fundraising campaigns, in collaboration with the ULI Europe Marketing and Communications team.
