The Philanthropy Manager is a key member of the Philanthropy & Partner Engagement Department within War Child’s award-winning Fundraising team. As Philanthropy Manager, you will: 

• Identify and qualify a pipeline for up to 6-figure gifts for both unrestricted and restricted giving

• Develop and implement strong cultivation and solicitation plans for existing donors to generate significant income from the portfolio. This will include personal meetings, attending networking events, writing proposals/reports and making presentations

Ideal skills and experience: 

• Experienced in a similar fundraising role, with a knowledge of major donor fundraising, ideally within an international development or humantarian NGO
• Ability to input into fundraising strategies with a track record of securing 4-5 figure gifts and delivering against targets
• Experienced in stewardship strategies for major donors or the development of supporter journeys in order to retain donors
• A relationship focussed approach with strong networking skills at senior levels internally and externally

Key Details

Salary: £37,400 per annum with generous benefits including 25 days annual holiday plus public holidays, enhanced pension contribution, private medical health insurance, life assurance, and flexible/hybrid working.

IKWRO –Women’s Rights Organisation (IKWRO) is an award-winning charity founded (as the Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organisation) in 2002. IKWRO is a registered charity which provides advice and support to Middle Eastern, North African and Afghan women and girls living in the UK, who have experienced, or are at risk of all forms of “honour” based abuse, including; forced marriage, child marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM), or domestic abuse.

We work with women and girls of all ages, including lesbian women, bisexual women and trans women. We offer services in Kurdish, Farsi, Arabic, Dari, Pashto, Turkish and English. IKWRO offers free advice, advocacy and counselling services and operates a refuge which provides safe accommodation and specialist support to single women at risk of “honour” based abuse, forced marriage and domestic abuse.

IKWRO also provides training for women and girls to help them understand their rights in the UK. In partnership with other organisations, we assist survivors of abuse with accessing English language classes and education, training and employment opportunities. About the role

We’re looking for a Human Resources Advisor with strong experience in employee relations and policy development to join our People Team. In this role, you’ll work closely with the HR Business Partners and act as the escalation point from our People Operations Team, offering comprehensive, pragmatic people advisory services across the organisation. You’ll support colleagues and managers on a wide range of HR topics, including employee relations, recruitment, and policy improvement.

This is a key role that doesn’t involve direct management responsibilities, but you will play a pivotal part in coaching and advising managers and colleagues. We’re looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to handle complex HR cases with confidence and professionalism.

What will I be doing?

• Provide first-line people advisory support, managing employee relations issues such as performance management, grievances, and absence management.
• Assist with complex HR casework and organisational change programmes, including restructuring and redundancies.

Position Summary

The Global Center is seeking an early/mid-career professional to support capacity development programming that advances equitable collaboration between civil society, government, private sector, and multilateral actors to realize a more just and secure world.

Working under the supervision of colleagues addressing cross-cutting thematic and geographic programs, the successful candidate has a demonstrated passion for human rights, security, and development and is keen to contribute their skills to a diverse range of programs.

The position will initially support Global Center programs on rehabilitation and reintegration of former terrorism offenders in Bangladesh and Indonesia, as well as other Global Center projects relating to countering the financing of terrorism and other related issues. As needed, other engagements may include work to empower civil society, advance justice and good governance, and influence national, regional, and international security policy and practice.

Working alongside staff in London, Nairobi, New York, or DC you will collaborate with international experts, project partners, and funders to develop and implement programs globally, including regular travel to countries of operation.

Responsibilities will include a range of operational and administrative tasks in support of Global Center’s programs, including contributing to planning, delivery, evaluation and program activities; logistical planning, coordination, and execution of events and meetings; drafting and editing of project documents, correspondence, and meeting materials; data entry; note taking; research assistance; communication with partners, diplomats and vendors; database management and contacts maintenance; as well as other tasks as assigned.

• Contribute to the development and implementation of project workplans, including inception phase consultations and capacity development activities.
• Collaborate with team members, expert-practitioners, project partners, and funders in the development and implementation of program activities.
• Assist with the cultivation and management of a network of local, regional, and international beneficiaries, experts, partners, and donors from government, community groups, and civil society organizations.

Education and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in international relations, law, international development, criminology, sociology, security policy, or other related field is required.
• 2-5 years of professional experience is required.
• Excellent written communication skills are essential. Foreign language skills are desired, but not required.
• Experience interacting with internal and external contacts such as government and policymakers, civil society, and donors (experience in the Global South is an advantage).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
• Must have authorization to work in the United Kingdom, Kenya, or the United States.

This role is based in the UK on a remote homeworking contract or based in our London office. If the role is based in the London office, you will be required to attend the office for a minimum of 2 days per week with the option to work remotely for the remaining 3 days.

The Donor Relations Officer is a key role within the Development Office at the University of London. You will be responsible for developing and implementing a best practice programme of stewardship, donor engagement and recognition for the University of London’s donors, ensuring sustainability and growth of the donor base.
