Job purpose

We are looking for an experienced digital communications professional to play a key role in improving our digital communications. Reporting to the head of communications, marketing and digital, the role will oversee the development of a new RCVS Knowledge website, developing our use of user data and insights and managing the development of engaging content.

As project manager for the RCVS Knowledge website development from discovery to launch, you will be working closely with your colleagues in our small and friendly communications team, as well as with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to help us realise our vision of a well-designed, user-friendly website which meets the needs of all our audiences.

You will ensure that we have a shared understanding of our requirements across the RCVS Knowledge team and with the supplier, and that these requirements are informed by audience data and insights. In addition, you will also take the lead on auditing our current site content and developing a strategy for developing relevant, high-quality content in time for launch and beyond.

You will have recent, relevant experience of leading website developments of significant size and complexity, with a passion for user-centred design and creating high-quality content.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the main point of contact between RCVS Knowledge and the digital agency, and internally with the website project stakeholders.

• Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure user needs are understood, manage the development of the project plan, establish regular meetings to share progress and seek input and deliver to agreed timescales.

• Develop website goals and KPIs which support the RCVS Knowledge communications, marketing and digital strategy.
• Manage documentation for project governance as needed, including issues and risk logs.

• Lead on our content audit and strategy for the new website, considering user needs and supporting our organisational objectives.

• Create and edit a range of content for the new website which supports user experience and meets current best practice for SEO and accessibility.

• Oversee the content migration to our new website.

• Ensure all internal users receive training on the new CMS appropriate to their level of access.
• Ensure all activity is undertaken observing the requirements of data protection legislation (GDPR).
• Contribute to the development of a new communications, marketing and digital strategy.

• Using tools such as Google Analytics, ensure we are reporting against our agreed objectives and make recommendations based on the data and insights available.

• Ensure the wider RCVS Knowledge team and senior team are kept up to date with project progress.
• Provide additional informal training to staff on the use and interpretation of analytics.
• Undertake any other duties in line with the objectives of the post.

Essential Criteria

• A track record in, and passion for, digital communications gained in either in-house or agency roles.
• Experience of managing website projects from end to end including agency management, stakeholder management, build, design, testing and content creation.

• A solid understanding of content design, user experience and web accessibility.
• Experience of developing digital content which follows best practices and is engaging and inspiring for a range of audiences.
• Excellent writing and editing skills.

• Proficiency in Google Analytics, analysing data to inform decisions around improvements.
• A great understanding of SEO and the impact good content has on search visibility.

The Finance Systems Implementation Manager will be responsible for overseeing the successful implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

This role involves working closely with various stakeholders to ensure the new system meets the charity's financial and operational needs.

Responsibilities:

• Project Management: Lead the end-to-end implementation of Business Central, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
• Project Leadership: Manage the planning, resource requirements, scheduling, risk management and budget control for the project, using appropriate tools and methodologies.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with finance, IT, and other departments to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives, liaising with colleagues across teams to ensure that all work is prioritised, maximising the available cross-functional resource in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
• Contractor Engagement: Manage the tender for an implementation partner and work with the implementation partner throughout the process to ensure a joined-up implementation
• System Configuration: Oversee the configuration and customization of Business Central to meet the charity's specific needs.
• Training and Support: Develop and deliver training programs for end-users and provide ongoing support during and after the implementation.
• Data Migration: Manage the migration of data from legacy systems to Business Central, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
• Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing of the system to identify and resolve any issues before go-live.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and user manuals.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements post-implementation.

Salary advertised is for 35 hours per week - role offered 21 hours per week - Actual salary £34,884 - £38,556)

Job Purpose 

Save the Children is looking for an ambitious and driven media professional with exceptional project management skills to develop and lead on Save the Children's media activity in Scotland, as well as line managing and supporting the senior media managers in N. Ireland and Wales and supporting them to implement their strategies. 

The role will involve developing and driving the media and communications strategy in Scotland to support fundraising, policy, public affairs and brand objectives. You will also help create materials and social media content for Scotland's communications channels. The scope will cover Save the Children's Scotland, UK-wide and international work. 

The role will also line manage two senior media managers – one in Wales and one in Northern Ireland. You will lead and support them to deliver effective media and communications plans, while ensuring strategic co-ordination across the devolved nations and with the Save the Children UK office in England. 

You will be highly organised and persuasive, with a good knowledge and understanding of child poverty issues and key political debates. You will have experience as a news journalist or in media handling, and a strong track record of success in obtaining media coverage in a variety of outlets. We are looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a proven ability to manage competing priorities under pressure. You will have demonstrated the ability to manage or support others to achieve results.

Main Accountabilities

The Media Lead – Scotland's key duties will be to:

• Develop and implement a media and communications plan for Scotland that will deliver proactive and reactive coverage in support of Save the Children's influencing and fundraising objectives. 

• Lead and manage the Senior Media Managers in Wales and Northern Ireland to develop and implement their own media plans. Provide them with technical and strategic guidance. 

• Map, build and maintain relationships with key journalists, editors, commentators, opinion formers, bloggers and documentary makers in your media market. 

• Write compelling and hard-hitting media briefings and press releases focussing on Save the Children's work in Scotland, to influence policy makers and key stakeholders. 

• Cultivate and harness the skills and expertise of colleagues – especially programmes and policy teams in Scotland - in our media and communications work, including by launching products like reports and coaching media spokespeople. 

• Respond quickly to relevant breaking news to achieve cut through for policy calls. 

• Identify and support children and families to tell their stories in media and communications, ensuring that ethical standards and best practice are maintained at all times. This includes children and families supported by Save the Children in Scotland and those fundraising or campaigning for our work. 

• Protect Save the Children's reputation, developing and implementing crisis management media strategies and rebuttal as required. 

Person Profile

• Experience as a news journalist or in media handling, and a strong track record of success in obtaining media coverage in a variety of outlets. Experience should include strong examples of developing strategies and obtaining significant coverage on own initiative. 

• Demonstrated the ability to manage or support others to create plans and achieve results. 

• Excellent working knowledge of the media environment in Scotland. 

• Ability to work fast, effectively and independently – including without immediate media and communications oversight.

The Role

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to work across both Houses of Parliament to ensure that our updated Safeguarding policy is effectively implemented and embedded across our varied teams.

The Parliamentary Estate is a mixed-use site, with many different activities involving a wide range of individuals: from members and staff of both Houses, to visitors on democratic access tours and attending proceedings, school children on educational tours, VIP visitors and parliamentary delegations, and tourists from all over the world.

You will need to work with teams across Parliament to understand these different activities, assess the risks of harm to children and adults at risk, the likelihood of those risks materialising, and how Parliament can effectively mitigate them. You will lead in the roll out of our updated Safeguarding policy alongside the development of a network of trained safeguarding coordinators, developing a community of interest to share best practice and guidance.

Some of the responsibilities for this role include:

• To be the lead source of advice and guidance on safeguarding policy and practice within Parliament.
• Support the work of the Safeguarding board, providing expert briefing, analysis and recommendations as required by the board.
• To act as an additional Designated Safeguarding Officer, supporting the work of the existing Designated Safeguarding Leads as required.
• To lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the new safeguarding policy, using a risk-based approach to embedding it in parliamentary activities, structures and culture.

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.  

Absolutely central to this is designing, commissioning and managing complex and rigorous impact evaluations with experts in the field. The new government has an ambition to halve knife crime within a decade, and we’re anticipating opportunities to work with them to build evidence on new approaches to tackling violence involving children. Your role will focus on creating and making the best of those opportunities. You will: 

• Serve as a senior member of the team. YEF is buzzing with activity and in order to prevent any bottlenecks, we need to expand our senior capacity. 

• Run and manage closed calls for complex evaluations commissioned under Targeted Projects. For each of the programmes we work with, we find and appoint independent evaluators. 

• Expertly manage relationships with key stakeholders. Aside from evaluators, we work closely with other grantees and partners. 

• Represent YEF at governance meetings and other external engagements. We’re passionate about our mission, proud of the work we’re doing to get there, and we’re keen to share this with stakeholders.  

• Provide support and counsel to our team of Senior Evaluation Managers and Evaluation Managers. This team closely manages over 35 efficacy trials, over 20 pilot studies and even more in the earlier stages of evaluation. 

• Tightly manage and quality assure evaluations commissioned under Targeted Projects. YEF has set processes to maintain high standards and rigour. This role will ensure all evaluations adhere to these.

About the position

The GMS Support Manager will be responsible for leading on the day-to-day operations of the Freedom Fund’s new Salesforce Grant Management System. The project to develop the new GMS is currently in progress, with user training expected to take place in January 2025 and the Go Live planned for February 2025.  The transition to the new system will be a significant change in the organisation’s way of working; currently the Freedom Fund’s grant management process is manual and spread over multiple different platforms.

Initially, the focus of the role will be on supporting the Freedom Fund staff as they transition to using the new system, including assisting with user training and working with the implementation partner Hyphen8 to identify and resolve any issues that arise. Following Go Live, the GMS Support Manager will be responsible for leading on administration and maintenance of the system, requiring a good technical knowledge of how Salesforce works. The role will be responsible for user training and support, leading on staff consultation for future system developments and prioritising requests. The successful candidate will also act as the main point of contact between the Freedom Fund and implementation partner Hyphen8 for both ongoing support and future development phases. 

Responsibilities 

• Support the roll-out of the Freedom Fund’s new Grant Management System, including supporting Hyphen8 with user training and troubleshooting any issues that arise during the transition.

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the Salesforce system; including system performance, change control and user support 

• Support the day-to-day administrative functions and configuration including user management, permissions, sharing rules, objects, fields, page layouts, record types, custom settings, reports and dashboards 

• Be proactive in system maintenance including keeping up with Salesforce releases, features and best practices 

• Be the key point of contact between Freedom Fund and Hyphen8 

• Understand the Freedom Fund’s needs and work with Hyphen8 (as appropriate) and staff to meet changes 

• Decide how best to direct the core support hours provided by Hyphen8 during version upgrades in order to achieve the best results 

• Understand and own the Freedom Fund’s Salesforce architecture including the data model, integrations (including with the finance system), reporting and analytics 

• Maintain data quality by monitoring data and addressing the procedural issues which lead to loss of quality 

• Promote the use of Salesforce across the Freedom Fund, optimising the return on investment in this capability 

• Interpret and prioritise requests for GMS development and support 

• Work with colleagues across the Freedom Fund to understand business needs, finding a suitable mixture of support, challenge and direction to enable colleagues to get the most from the GMS 

• Deliver end user support and training to help colleagues use the system effectively 

• Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and internal policies

• Train Freedom Fund IT Officer on core functionality of the new GMS

This role will play a key role in delivering our ambitious policy influencing programme, helping to develop and advocate for the policy changes needed to reduce, prevent and eventually end the need for food banks in the UK. It will focus on developing Trussell policy positions in either employment support (especially for people with barriers to work) or disability and sickness benefits. The role will also lead the development and implementation of influencing plans in that policy area.

Role responsibilities

Leading the development of credible policy positions and implementable recommendations in the specified policy area - either in relation to employment support and conditionality, particularly for groups facing significant barriers to work including disabled people and single parents; or in relation to the disability benefit system, particularly Personal Independence Payments and the Work Capability Assessment.

Working with the Policy and Public Affairs, Network Operations and Participation teams to ensure our policy influencing has a robust evidence base.

Where appropriate, developing policy in collaboration with food banks in Trussell’s network and lived experience partners. Building on success of existing participatory work to ensure it is rooted in the lived experience of individuals affected by poverty. This includes ensuring an ethical approach to policy development in line with our values.

Working effectively with other expert partners to strengthen policy development and build alliances to support influencing, including project management and oversight of joint policy development and positions.

·Planning and delivering impactful policy activity

Leading the development of an influencing strategy for the policy area aligned to a theory of change. Ensuring policy outputs are timely, high-quality and support engagement with key audiences, including national and local governments across the UK. Co-ordinating responses to reactive work in areas, including policy consultations, activity in Parliament, in the media or in response to network requests.

·Developing policy narratives and key messages

Co-ordinating the development of the narrative and key messaging in the areas, maintaining a key message bank, with tailored lines for target audiences as needed.

·Representing Trussell and promoting the organisation’s policy positions to external stakeholders

Working proactively with Research, Public Engagement and Network Operations teams to identify opportunities to promote the organisation’s policy positions and recommendations to key audiences. This could include presenting at policy and campaign events, workshops with food banks and media interviews.

Developing relationships, partnerships and networks to help raise the profile, credibility and influence of the Trussell Trust and our policy positions in the specified policy area, including with relevant policy makers, politicians, civil servants, sector partners and church-related organisations working in key policy areas.

Person Specification

Technical skills and minimum knowledge:

· Track record of successfully developing policy solutions, including credible and implementable proposals in either the area of either employment support or disability and sickness benefits.

· Track record of successfully influencing politicians and key decision-makers to achieve strategic goals at different levels of government.

The groupwork is based on a programme led by Harvard University and Boston’s Children’s hospital and has structured sessions drawing upon psychological model of CBT, although the sessions are not therapeutic. Each session has a theme and incorporates education, guidance and support.

The Role

As a key member of the Institute’s growing nature team, you will be working specifically international nature markets. You will be working on a funded project of work, to support COP15 signatories to understand and implement models and markets that unlock private sector capital into nature restoration and conservation and help them meet their Target 19 commitments. This role will be part of a three-person team within the broader nature team.

You will gain exposure to a range of stakeholders including policy makers, project developers and the private sector across multiple countries. Your responsibilities will include organising stakeholder convening, undertaking research and analysis, developing content, and managing sub-projects autonomously.

Collaboration with industry, government, civil society and academia internationally is a key element of this role and we are looking for team members who will thrive in a dynamic environment where creative thinking, communication and time management skills are essential.

About You

This is an exciting role for someone who has already gained relevant experience within the international development and/or environmental or sustainable finance sectors, looking to continue a career in the emerging area of nature-based investing and natural capital.

The Institute’s nature team is in growth mode and as such this role would suit a versatile project manager who is focused on timely delivery. You are expected to have some stakeholder management skills and strong research and writing skills.

You will be expected to grow your project management and stakeholder management skills and be confident in taking initiatives to manage relationships with potential and existing partners. Ability to co-ordinate multiple projects will be important, and you must be comfortable working in a flexible way. You will grow your expertise in selected areas regarding the content and structure of nature-based revenue models. You will manage one junior role with possibly short-term consultants to oversee from time to time.
