Purpose of the job

 The Evaluation & Learning Manager will work closely with the Assistant Director of Research & Impact and internal/external colleagues. You will help the organisation make good decisions and influence others – informed by the best available evidence, analysis of the charity’s impact, learning from organisations, youth practitioners and young people.

 You will be responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of a portfolio of evaluation and learning projects. This will involve conducting research in-house, as well as managing external research partners. You can also expect to have line management responsibility for a direct report and should work closely with other members of the Impact Function to improve our ways of working and meet the organisation’s system change ambitions.

 The Impact Function will not evaluate programmes in isolation but rather help to build a cumulative knowledge base that proves and improves the impact of UK Youth’s activities and youth work more generally. Learning and knowledge management is a major component of this role and you will ensure that insights are easily understood and applied to have real world impact.

Experience we're after

• Significant experience of using quantitative and/or qualitative and/or mixed research methods to conduct evaluations of interventions in community settings

• Significant experience of managing projects and coordinating effectively with internal and external stakeholders

• Experience of working with large datasets and conducting descriptive and inferential data analysis

• Experience of using qualitative research methods with young people

• Experience of working with external research and/or evaluation partners

• Experience of supporting others to use data and evidence to inform their decision making through creative and persuasive comms, engagement and dissemination.

Interim Finance Director

Reporting to the CEO, the Finance Director will be part of In Kind Direct’s leadership team and contribute to the overall leadership, strategic direction and decision-making of the organisation.

The Finance Director will also be responsible for implementing and developing financial planning, budgeting and forecasting to support IKD’s decision making for increased impact and improve IKD’s effectiveness and efficiency. This includes responsibility for the development and maintenance of the internal finance controls, policies, procedures and systems. Finally, you will also lead decision-making on investments, reserves and the management of financial strategy and risks, taking into account our approach to sustainability. Previous experience in eCommerce and distribution will be a significant advantage given the innovative In Kind Direct model.

Skills and experience you will bring

• Experience working at FD level with in-depth knowledge of financial and operational management, ideally including relevant experience within the charity sector.
• Strategic thinker experienced in collaborative strategy development.
• Innovative, curious and rigorous - able to find strategic solutions and work at pace to support commercial and operational decisions [CW5] with modelling that drive greater impact.
• Fully qualified finance professional (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Understanding of Ecommerce and distribution is highly desirable.
• Wide experience of business planning, functional development and performance reporting, including to the Board of Trustees.
• Experience managing outsourced finance teams desirable.
• An experienced leader with a track record of delivering ambitious goals, bringing together diverse, inclusive, high performing teams.
• Equally adept at and enthused by engaging in strategic decision making and rolling up their sleeves to get involved in the day-to-day delivery of In Kind Direct.
• Values-driven with exceptional integrity and committed to our other core values of innovation, kindness and togetherness. 
• Knowledge and experience of tax and accounting regulations. Knowledge of the charity sector desirable.

Key responsibilities

• A strategically focused role, with a number of projects to deliver on, including multiple contracts, developing a long term strategic focus for the facilities & estates department.
• Property Management: property search, lease negotiation, rent reviews, tenancy and contract management.
• Accommodation: Ensure the safety and security of the building and repairs and maintenance.
• Health and Safety: Leading the health and safety committee, and ensure the operational health and safety is within accordance with guidance, regulations and policies. Monitor and produce risk assessments, and report to the SMT and board.

• Manage the development and training of the facilities & events team, developing key performance indicators.
• Overseeing the large events portoflio from a facilities perspective, with occasional attendence required after working hours.

Key Criteria

• Proven track record of operational facilities management, with strong team management skills.
• Experience of contractor management (property maintenance, facilities management, catering services) and serviced delivery.
• Experience in property management, assuring property compliance and managing a property compliance register.
• Ability to build a great professional rapport with all stakeholders.

An exciting position has arisen for a Head of Finance to join a small not for profit Think Tank to lead their finance function. You will be managing a small team and be responsible for producing the management and financial accounts.

Key responsibilities of the role:

• Work closely with the CEO and to develop and implement a robust financial strategy

The International Programmes Department delivers our work across Africa and South Asia focusing on quality programming including advocacy, learning and documentation.

About the Role:

The Senior Manager will manage a process through which Country Programmes (CPs) can access the human resources required to deliver their programme and project objectives effectively and efficiently. This will include working closely with CPs and regional offices to diagnose support needs and identify support options available. Additionally, the Manager will be expected to adopt a CP centred approach to decision making on support provisions and to manage an independent mechanism for quality assurance of the support provision to the CPs.

Following a recent Scoping Study and a process of consultation across the organisation about how such a model would work, the procedures and mechanisms within WaterAid that will be required as part of the Advisory and Support Hub model are currently being developed. The Advisory and Support Hub Manager will be required to:

• Manage the process of piloting the model in one selected region, if required.
• Review the lessons learnt from piloting the model and make recommendations on further improvements that may be required.
• Coordinate the roll-out of the model across the organisation.
• Manage the process of requesting, identifying, deploying, and reviewing assignments.
• Be responsible for maintaining the database or expertise both internal and external to WaterAid.
• Liaise closely with external sources of expertise such as partner and support organisations, international consultants and former WaterAid employees.
• Be responsible for establishing and leading quality review and feedback of support and advice provided.

About You:

• Proven experience in business and project management, preferably in technical support services or related role.
• Ability to manage service provision involving short-term simultaneous assignments to deliver support on time and within budget, using in-house staff and/or consultants (institutions and/or self-employed individuals).
• Proven experience of managing change processes.
• Experience of working with institutions in low- and middle-income countries.
• Effective communication skills and demonstrated experience of managing and motivating others and driving change.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work across cultures and to develop good relationships with diverse clients and international collaborators. An ability to achieve this through web-based communication platforms (Zoom and MS Teams, etc.) and working at a distance without face-to-face meetings.
• Analytical thinking and data-driven approach to decision making.
• A degree-level qualification in a related field.
• Good written and oral communication and reporting skills in English is essential.
• An ability to speak French would be an advantage.

Although not essential, we also prefer you to have:

• Experience of working in international development

Job Purpose

Global Generation is looking for someone who is passionate about working with local communities to create safe, inclusive and inspiring green spaces. As the Story Garden Manager, you will be responsible for managing the Story Garden and our move in October 2025. You will work closely with our community engagement team, to ensure that the Story Garden legacy lives on in Somers Town. You will also manage our small Garden Team, to oversee horticultural, volunteering and community engagement activities at the Story Garden and for a short period of time, after the move, at our new site and/or in a new community hub created in Somers Town.

This role is primarily based at the Story Garden in King’s Cross, working closely with our local community of Somers Town. You will work with the garden team, community engagement team, education & community programmes team, chefs, volunteers and engage people of all ages.

Main duties and responsibilities

Garden planning and management of Story Garden and related projects

• Support garden team with horticultural work, including planning and procurement

• Project manage Story Garden funded projects - responsible for ensuring outputs and outcomes are monitored and met, building strong relationships with and reporting to funders (City Bridge Trust, Future Neighbourhoods Phase 3)

• Work alongside our Community Engagement Manager to run community events

• Alongside the Head of Gardens, manage the general Story Garden budget

  Project Management of Story Garden move

• Project manage the move of the Story Garden ensuring that there is a positive legacy to the work done at the Story Garden - this will involve donating plants, planters and structures to others in the local community

• Build on existing and create new partnerships with others locally, local community organisations and TRAs to deliver the legacy of the Story Garden

  Training and volunteering

• Manage and deliver corporate volunteer days at Story Garden and the new garden we’re building

• Support the Seasonal Gardener on the running of the Gardening Club

• Work with the Somers Town Team to integrate volunteering and training opportunities within the wider area and upskill local people

• Line manage 3 members of staff and volunteers and support their professional development through regular check ins, monthly 1:1s and regular meetings about projects.

• City & Guilds Level 2 Horticulture or equivalent and 3 years experience in a practical horticulture role, feeling confident enough to facilitate gardening activities
