At the Poppy Factory, we help armed forces veterans to find meaningful and sustainable employment after service. This often means overcoming a longstanding health condition or injury, and other barriers to employment such as addiction & homelessness. Our aim is to empower veterans, help them to recognise their unique skills and give them the confidence and skills to move forwards in their career.

As a Navigator, you will be assisting veterans who are furthest from employment to engage in meaningful activity as they look to gradually progress back towards work. Based at your home, with regular travel, including some overnight stays at our Richmond offices. The Navigator is a non-clinical role focused on supporting Veterans with mental or physical health conditions. The role aims to support them to overcome various factors impacting their lives, to achieve improved well-being and reduced social isolation. Clients of the service may present with issues around housing, accessing relevant health care services, substance misuse, education and training, financial concerns, and benefits, amongst others.

Job Summary:

The Executive Assistant to the Deputy Director of Programmes will provide high-level administrative support, ensuring the efficient operation of the office and supporting the Deputy Director in managing their workload. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent organisational, communication, and multitasking skills, capable of handling sensitive information with discretion and professionalism. The Executive Assistant will act as a key liaison between the Deputy Director, internal departments, and external stakeholders, contributing to the overall effectiveness and impact of the Programmes Department.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Administrative Support:
   • Manage the Deputy Director’s diary, schedule meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements.
   • Prepare and organise meeting agendas, take minutes, and follow up on action items.
   • Draft, edit, and proofread correspondence, reports, presentations, and other documents on behalf of the Deputy Director.
   • Handle incoming communications (emails, calls, etc.) and respond or redirect as appropriate.
2. Project Coordination:
   • Assist in the coordination of projects and initiatives led by the Deputy Director, including tracking progress, deadlines, and deliverables.
   • Conduct research and compile data to support project planning and decision-making.
   • Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless execution of cross-functional projects.
   • Maintain and update project documentation and files.
3. Liaison and Communication:
   • Serve as the primary point of contact between the Deputy Director and internal/external stakeholders.
   • Facilitate communication and collaboration between the Deputy Director and team members, ensuring information is accurately conveyed and deadlines are met.
   • Represent the Deputy Director in meetings or events when necessary.
4. Office Management:
   • Organise and maintain the Deputy Director’s office, ensuring it is well-equipped and efficient.

5. Event and Meeting Coordination:

6. Confidentiality and Discretion:

7. Personal Assistance:

Qualifications:

• Education: A bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Job purpose:

The Website Content Manager will lead on the content strategy for our new and improved website - delivering engaging content which inspires our audiences to take action from praying to donating in order for Muslim Hands to continue it’s lifesaving work. The Website Manager will have oversight of all pages, from blogs to appeals, responsible for optimising our each for SEO and CRO.

Main responsibilities:

• Produce and publish new pages from appeals to blogs in line with the organisation’s needs – this includes copywriting and liaising with designers for creative.
• Create and deliver the website content strategy inline with our key fundraising touchpoints – delivering an approach which puts the audience at the centre of our plans.
• Lead on our SEO strategy in partnership with our agency to deliver SEO audits, SEO driven blogs and to improve our overall website ranking.
• Lead on creating and delivering our conversion rate optimisation strategy.
• Deliver a test plan of website content which optimises the user experience.
• Create, update and audit website pages in line with the orgs needs. Including copy, creative, landing pages, functions, journeys in line with our brand guidelines.
• Work closely with the external developers to suggest new features we’d like to test in terms of the site’s functionality.
• Communicate website updates to the wider organisation.
• Lead on reporting for organic search, SEO and CRO metrics on a weekly and monthly basis – sharing with SLT.
• Work closely with the digital marketing team to provide optimal user journeys to improve our fundraising and retention efforts.

Person specification:

• A strategic thinker who will problem solve to deliver the website strategy.

At the Poppy Factory, we help armed forces veterans to find meaningful and sustainable employment after service. As a Navigator, you will be assisting veterans who are furthest from employment to engage in meaningful activity as they look to gradually progress back towards work. The Navigator is a non-clinical role focused on supporting Veterans with mental or physical health conditions. The role aims to support them to overcome various factors impacting their lives, to achieve improved well-being and reduced social isolation. Clients of the service may present with issues around housing, accessing relevant health care services, substance misuse, education and training, financial concerns, and benefits, amongst others.

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic motivated Service Manager to mobilise a brand new service providing support to the travelling community in Essex.  Working in close partnership with the existing Essex Countywide Travellers’ Unit (ECTU), you will lead on developing a high quality service that forges positive relationships within the travelling community alongside key partners and stake holders with the aim of reducing health inequalities, improving outcomes and access to services.

The Role
As a Service Manager you will be responsible for the day to day running of a highly performing, County Wide service that makes a tangible difference to the lives of those it works with. You will lead a small team to develop evidence-based services aimed at empowering people within the travelling community to access a wide range of services and sustain positive change. You will have strategic oversight of the service and will liaise directly with the commissioners and partners across Essex to ensure the highest possible standards of services. 

The role will be based in one of our existing offices in the Chelmsford, Colchester, Basildon or Harlow areas.  There can be flexibility around the location, but travel will be required across all areas to ensure effective service delivery.

The Service

The service will cover the County of Essex (excluding Southend and Thurrock) workin in partnership with ECTU to provide enhanced support to individuals and families from the Gypsy, Roma and Travelling communities in Essex across a range of needs (including substance misuse, physical and/or mental health needs, housing, education and employment).  The service will provide broad and flexible outreach, advocacy, signposting and onward referrals (to include accompanying people to appointments) and forge strong links with local partners and services to form a multi-disciplinary network of support.

The Role

Recovery and Connect is a project delivered in partnership with Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. About the Organisation

The charity is a mental health and emotional wellbeing charity, supporting Surrey residents since 1994 in Banstead, Elmbridge, Epsom & Ewell and Mole Valley.

Offering a variety of face-to-face and online services, available to adults (aged 16+) living in Surrey who would like to restore and/or maintain their mental and emotional wellbeing (no diagnosis needed). The services are free of charge, with no waiting list and no time limit.
