Role: Grants Officer

Location: Homebased – you will be required to travel minimum of 1 day per month to our Head Office which is located at Haig House, 199 Borough High Street, London SE1 1AA, and working from home on other days.

We are looking for Grants Officer to join our Grants Department responsible for assessing a high volume of grants applications relating to people who are eligible to receive support from The Royal British Legion.

Our team also makes grant decisions to assist those we support, provide information & guidance to colleagues, and generally support the centralised aspects of the Legion grant audit & fulfilment processes.

As a Grants Officer you will work with individuals eligible for assistance directly to deliver welfare support, collaboratively with third parties considering grants towards their own casework and internally with regional specialist teams.

You will be able to demonstrate empathy and judgement while maintaining service standards and helping to safeguard the Royal British Legion’s finite funds. The role involves considerable liaison with external charities & agencies, speaking directly to those we support, and it is anticipated that you will have a good too high standard of communication, planning and organisational skills.

• Through this new organisational role, you’ll proactively create and grow fundraising income opportunities with individuals, community groups and grant giving trusts and foundations. Through the design and delivery of excellent, engaging and regular stewardship communications and powerful fundraising appeals, you will grow our income and pool of individual supporters making one off or monthly donations. You’ll also explore and implement ways of promoting Eastbourne Food Bank across the community to successfully attract an ever-greater number of individual donors.

• You’ll engage with local community groups, associations, events, schools and businesses in order to grow Eastbourne Foodbank’s community fundraising reach and income.
   
• Through excellent, comprehensive and considered research, you’ll identify and prioritise a pool of potential Trusts and Foundations funders for Eastbourne Foodbank and, working with colleagues, you’ll develop authentic, compelling, creative and winning funding bids that can successfully engage new and existing Trusts and Foundations funders.  
   
• You’ll work closely with and support the CEO of Eastbourne Foodbank in maintaining and evolving the existing relationship with the Big Lottery Fund and developing collaborative fundraising activities and joint bids with five other Trussell Trust Foodbanks across East Sussex.

The salary will be £38k to £40k depending on experience

Chichester District Foodbank is a vibrant and ever-evolving community project which provides emergency food to over 9000 local people every year. We are looking to employ an Office Manager for 37.5 hours per week at £28,000 to £30,000 per annum. 

As the Office Manager you will manage the overall running of the Foodbank office/building, including overseeing HR, implementing policy and procedures, including Health and Safety, maintaining administrative processes, managing stakeholders, serving the trustee board, and working closely with staff in the implementation of events and projects.

Responsibilities

As the Office Manager you will be responsible for managing the overall running of the Foodbank Office/building and administrative processes.

The postholder will do this by:

• The first point of contact for clients and stakeholders on the Chichester District Foodbank main telephone or central email, dealing with initial enquiries and referring them to relevant member of staff when appropriate. 

• HR – manage the HR dashboard, Breathe HR, prompting managers to complete appraisals and regular one-to-ones, managing policies and supporting managers in the recruitment of staff using platforms such as ‘Indeed’.

• CRM – main point of contact for Salesforce, creating templates and providing reports, prompting staff to keep contacts up-to-date, data cleaning etc. 

• Stewardship of regular and one-off donors, acknowledging receipt of donations, encouraging Gift Aid signup, and sending letters of thanks on behalf of the CEO. 

• Supporting the Operations Manager with volunteer recruitment admin where necessary.

• Responsible for building management including liaising with utility suppliers and taking responsibility for health and safety in the Chichester District Foodbank offices and centre. 

• Responsible for equipment management, keeping an up-to-date asset list, liaising with suppliers and contractors, making sure all staff have equipment needed to complete their work i.e. phones systems, laptops, and mobile phones. 

• Responsible for procuring office supplies, including stamps. 

• Responsible for IT systems including Office 365 and Google drive, ensuring intellectual property is secure, staff have relevant access and corporate assets can be accessed by all. 

• Managing Chichester District Foodbank events, managing correspondence with event attendees, procuring event equipment and volunteers. Ensuring event information is communicated accurately and timely across all channels in collaboration with the Communications Officer. 

• Oversee community collections and collection boxes/buckets – making sure that we adhere to fundraising regulations and licences, counting, and banking money and thanking relevant organisations. 

• Manage organisational policy reviews and development.

• Manage the Chichester District Foodbank office volunteers including the tech volunteer who provides IT support. 

• Responsible for creation and development of a Chichester District Foodbank archive.

• Lead on data protection /GDPR. 

• Support CEO and Trustees by setting up meetings, providing agendas, board papers and minutes, booking venues and refreshments, whilst maintaining confidentiality. 

• Support internal communications as directed by the CEO. 

• Provide occasional management support for foodbank sessions when the Operations Manager is unavailable.

We’re looking for someone to work with schools across Lewisham to improve the education and health potential of Young Carers. You’ll work alongside our wider team supporting Unpaid Carers across the borough.

You’ll develop relationships with schools and school staff, raising awareness and supporting the identification of Young Carers within education settings, and supporting the development of policy, guidance and resources. You’ll work one-to-one and with groups of Young Carers, and carry out home-based visits to offer support interventions.  

As a Young Carers Schools Coordinator, you will also support the planning and delivery of the service’s activity package, including respite activities, online groups and face-to-face sessions.

Applicants should have relevant personal or professional experience of working with children, young people, and families in social care, health, education or voluntary and community sector. We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Major Donor Manager to join our team. You will hold responsibility for creating a major donor portfolio for TLC, securing support from High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs) and Philanthropists.

This is TLC’s first Major Donor role. Over the past few years our organisation’s size and reach has grown considerably. We have experienced much success in winning new contracts and generating income from grants and Trusts – however, large and unrestricted donations remain an untapped potential resource for TLC. As the need for our services grows, so does the need for funding.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to set up and coordinate this new and exciting dementia focused role. This is an exciting opportunity to join our well-established Homeline befriending project as a brand-new Dementia Coordinator. The aim of this role will be to set up, coordinate and develop a range of dementia support for isolated and lonely 60+ residents of Hammersmith and Fulham living with dementia and their carers. 

Specifically, the Dementia Coordinator will: 

• Head up a new dementia information hub within The Creighton Centre. This will involve coordinating a Dementia information and advice service, partnering with dementia health care professionals to deliver advice, signposting and referrals to people living with Dementia and their carers. 

• Network and develop strong links with local cross sector dementia services. 

• Develop additional inclusive activities to complement existing Homeline activities e.g. dance therapy, gardening club. 

• Promote new dementia volunteer roles and support Homeline Volunteer Coordinator to recruit team of 15 Dementia Ambassadors, and up to 50 Dementia home befrienders. 

• Coordinate dementia training and ongoing support of volunteer ambassadors/volunteers. 

• Coordinate up to 30 dementia home and care home befriending matches within year 1 (up to 50 annually for year 2 and 3), with a focus on meaningful sensory activities and keeping active.
