They are currently seeking to appoint a HR Officer, to join their team, initially on a FTC basis, for 3-6 months, part time, 3 days per week. 

As a Senior HR Officer you will provide high quality HR advice and support, including running all aspects of the HR function, as well as advising on improving HR, People and Culture processes and systems. Your duties will include, leading, advising and delivering effective end-to-end recruitment & on-boarding, improving employee experience through to payroll support, advising on salary Benchmarking and pay progressions. Important in the role is contributing to DE&I, learning culture and safeguarding, improving the appraisal process and introducing a new competencies framework, HR policy and procedures and staff benefits /rewards. You will also act as a HR business partner and act as adviser to managers across the organisation for general operations, planning, budgeting.

To be considered for this role, you will be an experienced HR professional, CIPD qualification (level 3 minimum is desirable) and have worked within the charity or similar sector. You will have knowledge of operational and strategic HR, people management and all processes associated with employee management such as recruitment and pay including benchmarking, as well as experience in developing and improving appraisal process. Lastly you will be good communicator, with strong IT and administrative skills and have an interest/ aptitude for culture and organisational development.

The key duties of these Finance Business Partners will be:

• Act as lead business contact for providing a professional finance business partnering service to designated Cost Centre Managers.
• Develop effective working relationships with stakeholders to improve their knowledge of financial management and forecasting, whilst providing appropriate robust challenge when required.
• Complete monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts for your Cost Centres providing sufficient analysis and narrative to inform business and operational decisions.
• Analyse monthly performance to budget and KPIs, evaluating variance impact and identifying trends to support, challenge and provide options in the cost-efficient management of resources. 
• Reconcile budgets, accruals, prepayments and other financial records for year-end.
• Engage with Cost Centre Managers on organisational or business-related proposals, provide helpful and meaningful financial advice to support business case submissions.
• Drive effective strategic and operational decision making for budget managers.
• Support the design, development and continuous improvement of finance processes and quality and system improvement projects.

The successful candidate will have:

• Part-qualified with a CCAB qualification or evidence of equivalent experience in a similar role.
• Experience of working in a management accounting, finance business partnering or related financial role.
• Ideally experience working in the public sector, but this is by no means essential.
• Proven experience of working collaboratively, including working with internal and external people in positions of influence to develop and implement customer-focused business solutions.
• Ability to analyse, summarise and communicate financial data and information clearly and accurately to non-financial budget managers.
• Ability to provide constructive challenge to budget managers.

General Administration: Respond to queries from our supporters; prepare fundraising materials; and, provide support to the wider fundraising team.

- Booking stands and stalls in commercial and community spaces to promote the 131 Social Club.
- Selling the 131 Club experience to older people, their families and carers.
- Arranging for older people to attend free 131 Social Club taster days.
- Overseeing older people who attend 131 Social Club free taster days helping them to become long-term Club customers.
- Working with other department staff to process new 131 Social Club customers, handling all the associated paperwork and completing monitoring logs.

The housing advocate will be collocated within the council offices of their designated area to help facilitate:

• Provision of specialist knowledge relating to DA for Housing Officers and Homelessness Teams to draw on
• Specialist support for survivors at the moment of crisis

This recognizes that many survivors will approach Housing at moments of crisis, when they are either considering fleeing, or have already fled.

The housing advocate will carry a caseload of survivors that require additional support. They will work closely with survivors of domestic abuse from the point of crisis, to provide high quality independent advocacy around housing needs.They will empower survivors by providing them with emotional, practical and individual safety support. They will ensure that survivors are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment, enabling them to access their rights, make decisions and increase their life options.

Co-located housing advocacy is another form of community-based specialist domestic abuse advocacy support that focuses on victim/survivors’ self-identified needs, rather than needs defined by the service and any pre-defined actions the agency thinks victim/survivors should take. The work is undertaken with the victim/survivor around their individual needs and for a period dictated by need, not targets.

Family Support Team Leader (Family Hub Outreach Service), 28 hours per week, £35,012 per annum pro-rata (including London weighting), Central & East London.  Fixed term to end March 2026

This is a highly rewarding role for a Team Leader to manage and coordinate the Outreach Service and other projects in Central & East London area, including recruitment, training and line management of staff and volunteers for the projects. The Team Leader will manage and deliver the Outreach service, for parents (of children 0-5 years) but this may change in future and will work closely with the Befriending Services.

We are looking for someone who have management experience for staff and can work under highly pressurised circumstances and competing demands. Experience of home visiting vulnerable families, excellent I.T skills and presentations skills with ability to engage with different audiences are essential.

You are required to have experience of writing reports to a high standard, collating data and information in an accessible format as well as ensuring can bring team on board to achieve targets and milestones in timely manner. Fluent in Arabic, the role will include developing an understanding of the local area including services and facilities. You will also need to pro-actively engage with vulnerable and isolated families and carry out home visits, as required. The role will include developing good relationships with health visitors and liaising with other agencies regarding the needs of parents and carers. In addition, the successful individual will help to organise social events to bring the community together.

We are looking for someone who has experience of community and outreach work with diverse communities in an inner-city environment. This will include experience of a wide range of methods/techniques to reach out and engage with isolated individuals/communities. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, along with the ability to empathise with parents and carers are required. A non-judgmental approach is essential. The ability to network is also important.

War on Want campaigns in the UK to challenge human rights abusing corporations and governments, and hold those responsible for inequality and poverty to account. They publish in-depth research exposing injustice and human rights abuse globally. They work in partnership with grassroots groups, trade unions and workers’ organisations in the Global South. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about political activism, ready for a brilliant next step in fundraising.

Working closely with the Director of Income & Engagement, your strategies and campaigns will deepen the relationship between War on Want and its individual supporters to both increase participation in their campaigns and grow unrestricted income.

The campaigns you run will acquire, retain, and develop individual supporters using a range of channels both on and offline. The ultimate aim of these activities is to increase the number of active War on Want members who support their work through regular direct debit donations. In addition, you will lead War on Want’s legacy programme and manage the Income & Engagement Assistant to ensure the delivery of first-class supporter care processes and an unbeatable supporter experience.

As individual giving lead, you will join the team at a very exciting time. They have recently launched a new supporter mobilisation strategy to bring transformative growth to our supporter base. This role would be well suited to someone who has worked across a range of channels: tele-marketing, direct mail and digital. You will have a passion for political change and activism!

The starting salary is £46,636 and the role is hybrid working, with one day a month at War on Want’s head office. More in-person days are required on an ad-hoc basis.
