Our purpose is simple, to save lives at sea. Since the 19th century, our crews have been risking their lives to save those who are in danger of drowning.

We're looking for an experienced Trusts and Grants Manager to join our Trusts and Grants team to look after a portfolio of prospects and grantmakers to help raise funds for our lifesaving work. This will be a full-time, permanent post. 4 days may be considered for the right candidate. Securing gifts from Trusts and Grantmakers will help bring our brave lifeboat crews home safely and provide the training and protective gear our crews and lifeguards need to save lives.

Your role

You will work as part of a supportive and collaborative team to help develop and steward a portfolio of Trusts, identifying new funders and projects and building sustainable long-term relationships with supporters in order to meet agreed financial targets and deliver our Trust fundraising strategy.  You will:

• Manage the stewardship of a portfolio of Trust supporters, making timely applications, delivering targeted reports and developing relationships in line with your stewardship plans.
• Be responsible for developing your pipeline to research and apply to lapsed and prospective Trusts, Foundations and other grant-making bodies whose objectives and interests fit with our work.
• Work collaboratively with programme and finance colleagues across the RNLI to identify projects and creatively package exciting funding opportunities to open doors to new prospects.
• Build well-crafted, ‘stand-out’ grant applications and impact reports with detailed budgets and timelines that clearly demonstrate to funders the impact of their donations.
• Through emotionally intelligent relationship management, keep funders engaged and excited about our work and inspire them to continue to give.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and regional teams to identify creative approaches to new and existing funders.
• As one of a small team of Trusts and Grant Managers, support the rest of the team by gathering and sharing project and third sector information.
• Maintain excellent record-keeping to ensure accurate reporting and grant management in line with GDPR and accounting good practice.

The role is offered as a homebased or hybrid role. Some travel will be required.

About you

We are looking for a highly motivated Trusts and Grants Manager with:

• Experience of prospecting for large gifts and managing large donor relationships in a Trust fundraising environment or very similar discipline.
• Experience of working with project managers to identify and create attractive funding packages.
• Excellent attention to detail with experience of writing high quality, creative and compelling fundraising proposals and reports.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and confidence in building internal and external relationships at all levels.
• Good personal resilience and an ability to work on your own initiative to manage projects and multi-task, plan and set priorities.
• A good understanding of the trust fundraising environment.
• A good understanding of financial reporting and experience in managing your own income pipeline.
• Excellent organisational skills with an understanding of the importance of good record-keeping.

Responsibilities and Person Specification:

The Media Communications Manager is responsible for overseeing Independent Age’s media communications programme, including media and PR, social media, celebrities and stories. They will lead the team to secure profile-raising coverage for our work in a range of print, online and broadcast media outlets including national news, consumer, sector-specific, and regional titles, oversee our organic social media and ensure our channels amplify our work and reach older people, decision makers and other influential stakeholders.

The Media Communications Manager will build excellent relationships with older people with lived experience of poverty, ensuring the voices of older people in financial hardship are at the centre of everything we do. They will also grow the organisations relationships with journalists, channel owners, celebrities, ambassadors, and other influencers to ensure that our media communications activity supports our organisational objective to tackle poverty in later life.    

You should have broad experience of developing and implementing innovative, successful profile-raising plans (across digital and traditional channels).  You will bring an ability to work both proactively and reactively, and experience of handling reputational or crisis issues. You should also have a passion for, and affinity with, the charity’s cause.

At Refugee Action Kingston (RAK) we're dedicated to helping the successful integration of refugees and people seeking asylum into the local community. Role Overview

MAIN PURPOSES OF THE JOB

The Stella Maris (SM) Regional Port Chaplain will promote the vision, mission and values of SM in caring for all seafarers and fishers by helping to meet their pastoral and spiritual needs. They will recruit, train and support SM staff and volunteers for the port and will maintain good relations with local parishes and the local diocese. They will work ecumenically with members of other Christian maritime societies with whom SM works.

1. To meet the welfare and pastoral needs of all seafarers and fishers equally according to their needs and wishes. To be an advocate on their behalf, upholding the dignity of each. Through regular and frequent ship visiting, to understand the working and living conditions of the seafarer and fishers and be able to work for justice and for the well-being of all crew members without distinction.

2. To address the communication needs of seafarers, providing transport, news, and access to telephone and internet facilities.

3. To address the welfare needs of seafarers and fishers, including support with money transfers, hospitality, and crisis support, e.g. abandonment, injury and death, detainment, bereavement, advice and access to medical care.

4. To meet the ecclesial, spiritual, and sacramental needs of Catholic seafarers and fishers; to facilitate the religious and spiritual needs of others and to be a pastor to all, sharing one’s faith as appropriate.

5. To participate in SM conferences, ongoing formation and other professional courses as required.

6. To supporting seafarer centre functioning.

7. To recruit, train, develop and retain a SM ship visiting volunteering team.

8.  To represent SM on the local Port Welfare Committee(s), to include attending such meetings and submitting reports.

9. To liaise and maintain good working relationships with all port stakeholders, including the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, the International Transport Workers’ Federation, port health, harbour masters, dockers, security, and shipping agents.

We are recruiting for two Generalist Advisers - one permanent and one fixed term contract for 12 months. The roles are an integral part of the day-to-day delivery of our Advice and Support Service, which has been re-shaped and went live in the summer of 2024. The service is targeted at older people in or facing financial hardship, and provides information, advice and follow up support to older people, their friends, family and professionals.

As a Generalist Adviser you will be responsible for providing advice and support during calls received through the duty line, pre-booked appointments and short term casework.  

You should have knowledge and experience of advising on a wide range of topics, including Welfare Benefits, Housing and Social Care. You should have experience of working within an advice setting and advice supervision framework such as the AQS framework. You will have a warm, supportive and person-centred approach, working alongside individuals in a holistic manner.

Salary information:

Homebased: £29,453 per year, increasing to £30,267 after 6 months (and to £31,054 after 12 months for the permanent role)

Hybrid working in London: £32,682 per year, increasing to £33,600 after 6 months (and to £34,493 after 12 months for the permanent role)

Purpose 

The Living Wage Foundation has an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team as a Senior Data and Insights Manager. The role will strengthen network-facing resources and support in a data-driven way, devising and implementing measures to drive membership growth and enhance membership satisfaction. This would include collaborating on research and analysis, translating insights into recommendations to support decision-making, and developing membership content available through to our network. 

The Senior Manager would actively promote greater engagement with our network, demonstrating a commitment to identifying and removing barriers to ensure all members can access the benefits of accreditation. Working under the Head of Operations and Insight, the Senior Manager will need to have excellent data collection and analysis skills, and an ability to translate that analysis into actions for the Living Wage Foundation through strong communication skills. They will also need to be able to build relationships with senior stakeholders, maximising our impact through the development of our membership offer to the Living Wage network. The suitable candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and able to collaborate effectively across the Living Wage Foundation and Citizens UK teams.

Main Responsibilities 

Build and manage projects, and achieve work targets effectively 

• Manage the development and continual improvement of membership services with evidence-based and user-centred design, ensuring network can access benefits. 

• Work collaboratively across the LWF to ensure our membership services offer is joined up and avoids duplication. Focus on working with events, communications, and the membership team.

• Implement processes and mechanisms for evaluating member-facing services and events and champion the use of these findings to guide future work.

• Initiate design and delivery of regular employer network surveys and prepare regular internal analysis and reporting. 

• Work with Research team to conduct regular quantitative network composition analysis and reporting of the Living Wage network, and establish clear ways to present this analysis internally and externally to inform strategic decisions. 

Learning, expertise and inclusion 

• Act as a learning facilitator, providing direct support and training to upskill colleagues across the Foundation to ensure consistency and collaborative working through disseminating good practice and shared learning.

• Oversee the production of membership resources both to promote membership services and as part of them.

• Monitor the business activity of key external and network organisations delivering membership services, analysing relevant performance data and research. 

• Undertake relevant training opportunities that will increase the Foundation’s capability to deliver outstanding membership services. 

• Display awareness of DEI issues, and demonstrate understanding of impact on network data and insights analysis, and membership offer.

Develop and manage external relationships 

• Identify and proactively develop relationships with external research and evaluation partners to develop and refine analysis approach. 

• Provide opportunities for network to give feedback and feel listened to. Act as a conduit for members, giving them a collective voice within the Living Wage Foundation. 

• Manage a diverse range of senior stakeholder relationships related to improving membership services and intelligence, and attending relevant industry events. 

Communications 

• Contribute to and, where required, lead network-facing events and other meetings related to membership offer and network insights. 

• Use appropriate channels to regularly disseminate impact analysis and membership development findings across all levels of the Foundation, ensuring consistency in developing events, resources and support. 

• Collaborate with the Communications Team to act on employer insights and feedback and develop targeted communications promoting our membership offer and our expertise on good work.

Develop and manage internal relationships 

• Coordinate the Foundation team to establish and implement fit-for-purpose objectives, impact monitoring metrics and evaluation frameworks. 

• Support colleagues to systematically test, evaluate and increase impact. 

• Work across the team to understand and support research and intelligence needs around Living Wage accreditation and the diversification of the Foundation’s work. 

Generate income and resources 

• Support the design and carrying out of evaluations of the Foundation’s programmes to build the evidence base on the benefits of the Living Wage to workers, businesses and society. 

• Manage systemic approach to recording network intelligence and insights, and regularly analyse data to inform the development of policy positions, new project development and membership offer. 

Contribute towards the achievement of Citizens UK and Living Wage Foundation strategic objectives 

• Ensure consistent, useful and robust data is collected to inform internal strategic decision-making. 

• Ensure membership services offer meets our strategic objectives 

• Responsibility for developing and implementing agreed areas of the Living Wage Foundation and Citizens UK work plan.

Main Purpose and Scope of the job

To support the Head of People with the provision of consistent and reliable Human Resources support in relation to policies and practices and with the practical application of employment law.
