Started in 2022, Utilita Giving provides grants to voluntary sector organisations, who can alleviate and prevent suffering and hardship caused by fuel and food poverty.
We raise awareness about this issue and enlist the public’s support in fundraising campaigns. Supported by our Patrons David James (ex-England footballer) and Adam Scorer (Chief Executive of National Energy Action), there is huge potential for this small but mighty charity to become a household name.
We are seeking an experienced Fundraising Officer, who has a proven track record in fundraising and effectively engaging donors and stakeholders to support a charitable cause.
You will be successful in submitting Tenders, Grant Applications, Bids etc. and competently engaging with high-net-worth individuals and corporate donors. You will be highly organised, numerically proficient and be great at building effective relationships.
You’ll be part of a small team, reporting into the Executive Director, however we work with a diverse stakeholder network of other charities and the general public, therefore you will have excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
We generally work remotely, but you will be required to come into the Chandlers Ford office once a month for meetings.We can be flexible if you wish to have a condensed working pattern over 4 days.

About you:

The Assessment, Advocacy & Advice Lead will provide frontline services to people diagnosed with HIV in Lewisham, Southwark and Lambeth as part of the Bridges partnership and South West London and Wandsworth HIV Support project. These services include assessment, emotional support and advice and advocacy for issues such as housing, welfare benefits, debt, dealing with HIV stigma or HIV treatment adherence. The Lead will facilitate signposting and referral into other support services including counselling, peer support and immigration services.
Programme
As part of Bridges programme, South West London HIV Partnership and Wandsworth HIV Support project, these services support new and previously diagnosed service users as well as family members/or carers who live in the same household. The programme will support people living with HIV and improve their health and well-being through the provision of services, delivered both face-to-face and virtually where appropriate.

What you will be doing

Advising the Academy’s Council and SLT of key gaps and opportunities.
- Maximising the impact of our work to inform and influence evidence-based decision-making in Government and other key organisations across the public, private and charitable sector.
- Leading the Science base and careers policy team of four staff that develop and deliver these programmes and working in partnership with other parts of the Academy that underpin our success.
- Building strategic, collaborative and sustained relationships with individuals and organisations across the health and wider research sectors.
- Developing innovative approaches to the Academy’s work to support evidence-based decision-making and embedding new approaches to monitoring and evaluation.

What you will bring to the role
- Understanding of the UK science base and associated careers, ideally in health or life sciences, and the associated policy landscape.

- An established reputation in health or research policy and/or experience of working within, or closely with, Government or research funders (including medical research charities) in a policy role would be an advantage.

Join our dynamic People and Culture team as Head of People - Learning, Engagement, and Experience! The Role: Finance Manager
Reporting the Head of Finance, you will lead the process of accurate and reliable financial accounts for the group.
- Facilitate timely financial accounts and statutory reporting.
- Oversee the processing of income and expenditure.
- Ensure proper VAT accounting in line with regulations.
- Manage and support a team of 4, including 3 Finance Officers and a Financial Accountant.
- In recent years, the Academy has made significant strides in enhancing their systems and processes. They are committed to continuous improvement and welcome innovative ideas.
The Ideal Candidate:
You will be a professionally qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) with charity sector experience. Candidates from an audit background will be considered, especially if you have partial VAT experience. You will have demonstrable expertise of consolidating accounts and reconciliations. Experience with complex balance sheet and bank account reconciliation will be also helpful. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills to liaise with stakeholders and manage an established team.

What we are looking for:
- A confident leader with line management experience of both staff and ideally volunteers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well the ability to influence, enthuse and work collaboratively with colleagues.
- Managing emotional support services can be challenging at times, you will need resilience to deal with difficult situations in a busy virtual environment,
- Someone with an eye for detail and a passion for continuous improvement opportunities.
- Whilst this role predominantly involves day to day operations, you will be an ambassador for our department and services, so experience with media and PR interviews would be beneficial.

Joining our Information & Support Team at an exciting time of growth in this new role, you'll provide crucial operational management for Marie Curie's Peer Support Services - our telephone companion and bereavement services. You'll line manage our Volunteer Co-ordinators and Peer Support staff ensuring the high quality provision of emotional support offered by over 150 volunteers, and be responsible for the development and expansion of these services, at a time when we know that more and more people need our support.

In this role, you will:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of Marie Curie's Peer Support Services to provide volunteer-delivered emotional support by phone to people living with a terminal illness, carers, family and friends as well as those who are bereaved from terminal illness.
- Line-manage a team of Volunteer Co-ordinators and Peer Support Officers ensure a high-quality service is provided to all service users and volunteers are recruited, trained and managed at the highest standard.
- Be responsible for service key performance indicators (KPIs), governance, leading on design and delivery of training to volunteers, and proactively managing the quality of our services.
- Alongside the Team Leader of our Support Line, act as a safeguarding lead, ensuring that all policies and procedures are followed and staff and volunteers receive the support that they need to deal with difficult situations.
- Support the growth plan for the services by proactively identifying opportunities to develop the services, working in partnership with other teams, and being an ambassador for the services within Marie Curie, and externally as required.

As the Events Programme Manager you will:
- Project manage the educational and scientific programme of all events
- Coordinate the delivery of virtual Study Days (6-8 per year)
- Support Director, Head of and other colleagues to build and update event programmes, manage speakers, send welcome letters, answer queries, collect contact details, biographies, session titles, etc.
- Provide support before and during in-person events including room management and speaker preview rooms
- Provide support technology for virtual speakers, facilitate pre-recorded sessions via Zoom
In order to be successful, you must have experienced :
- Event experience gained working in a membership organisation, preferably in healthcare
- Experience working with different stakeholders, including speakers/chairs and event committees
- Demonstrable skills in physical and virtual event/meeting delivery
- Experience of using Zoom for virtual events and onboarding virtual speakers
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 or equivalent
- Excellent customer service skills
- Experience of using CRM to manage events
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
