As an Administrative Support Officer, you will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Ministries Team. Quakers in Britain are looking for a Climate Justice Lead to ensure that Quakers continue to play a distinctive and effective role in the climate justice movement.
The successful candidate will have policy expertise as well as being an experienced advocate and creative campaigner. You will have the skills and collaborative approach needed to support grassroots campaigners, as well as contributing to coalitions and networks in order maximize impact.
You will be responsible for managing our ambitious work programme focusing on just responses to the climate crisis. Strategic Leadership:
- Bringing strategic focus to how we structure and segment the decarbonisation journey and offer across our church portfolio to develop and refine the decarbonising churches workstream strategy.

Grant Management and Delivery:

Workstream Delivery:
- Developing a clear and coherent approach to decarbonisation in churches, working closely with colleagues from across the Cathedral and Church Buildings team.

The purpose of the Regional Safeguarding Manager role is to provide line management and professional supervision to a team of Regional Safeguarding Leads operating across eight regions in England.
As the Regional Safeguarding Manager, you will be a member of the National Safeguarding Team (NST), working to support safeguarding practice in Dioceses and Cathedrals across the Church of England. You will be responsible for supervising the Regional Safeguarding Leads and supporting them in fulfilling their complex roles. You will work closely with colleagues in the NST to ensure Church-wide consistency in approach.
You will work across the regions supporting the Regional Safeguarding leads to establish opportunities for shared resourcing, working arrangements and commissioning of collaborative services. In addition, you will be supporting the implementation of the National Safeguarding Standards to encourage consistency of practice.
You'll be responsible for:
- Providing Professional Supervision to the Regional Safeguarding Leads
- Providing advice and guidance on the engagement between Regional Safeguarding Leads and a diocese/cathedral.
- Overseeing the use of tools and frameworks to examine practices and processes by Regional Safeguarding Leads to ensure the Church of England's National Safeguarding Standards are being consistently met or worked towards.

Key role requirements

The Role
We are looking for a proactive, committed and skilled Governance Officer to join the team.
In this role you will provide a comprehensive, high quality secretariat service, particularly to the Bishop’s Council, which acts as the Board of Directors of the Diocesan Board of Finance (income £30M, assets £520m, over 100 staff) and oversees a wide range of activity.
The Diocese is one of the largest in the Church of England covering the three counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, and Oxfordshire with a thousand parishes, church schools and chaplaincies. It is active in environmental action, addressing poverty and inequality, supporting children and youth work and much, much more.
You will ensure that meetings are scheduled and organised, agendas created, minutes recorded, and action lists monitored; elections organised and appointments made; governance advice given; relevant policies are in place and statutory registers are maintained. You will have the opportunity to be in the room when most of the organisation’s key decisions are taken. You will be required to work occasional evenings (1 each in May and December) and Saturdays (1 each in March, June and November), with time off in lieu.
About You
You do not need to be a practising Christian or have a faith to work here - around 50% of our staff are not practising Christians but are comfortable with the Christian ethos that underpins this work. However, all staff do have a desire to make a difference.
To be successful in this role you will be an initiative-taker with strong administrative, governance support and minute-taking experience and ideally have previously worked with senior stakeholders. You will have strong verbal and written communication skills, accuracy, and diligence, especially in written work and be highly organised. As a Data Analyst at CPAS, you will play a crucial role in collecting, analysing, and interpreting data to inform our programmes and strategies. You will work closely with our operations, fundraising, leadership and holiday teams to provide insights that drive effectiveness and accountability. Your work will directly contribute to our ability to improve key decision making in the organisation. This is a new role and the postholder will work closely with the Digital Systems Manager and key staff across other teams to build and maintain our data capabilities.
Salary: £22,914 (pro rata of £38,190 FTE) per annum. This is a part-time appointment of 3 days / 22.2 hours per week (0.6 FTE).
This post will be subject to a satisfactory Basic DBS check and completion of a Declaration of Suitability form. You must have evidence of your right to work in the UK.

- Exceptional organisational and administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
