The role

We are seeking an experienced marketing and communications manager to raise awareness of, and engagement with, the activities of our Enterprise directorate, with a particular focus on our portfolio of regional Hubs.

The successful candidate will develop and deliver marketing plans and produce assets which may include social media posts, paid digital marketing, email newsletters, digital graphics, printed flyers, video clips, blog posts or press releases – tailoring each to regional audiences around the UK. While raising awareness of our regional Hubs with targeted outreach for key local activities, you will also work closely with a small Programme Communications team to contribute to communications plans for our entire suite of Enterprise Hub programmes, helping ensure that each delivers a sufficient volume of high quality, diverse applications from across the UK.

You will be expected to recommend marketing approaches to make an impact, while monitoring and evaluating campaigns to learn from successes and make suggestions for improvement. With good all-round communications skills, you will need to craft high impact copy as well as produce eye-catching visuals, all while adhering to the Academy’s and Enterprise Hub’s brand and visual identity guidelines. It will be vital to work in collaboration – managing suppliers, meeting the needs of colleagues in multiple teams, and working closely with external partners.

As part of the role, you will have a good eye for a story and will capture case studies of success from across our UK community of awardees. Working closely with our regional engagement team based in Hubs around the country, you will ensure our outreach aligns with the needs and expectations of regional audiences and find opportunities to leverage local influencers to strengthen our reach.

The Royal Academy of Engineering’s Enterprise Hub is ranked by the Financial Times as one of the top 10 startup hubs in Europe, providing a unique package of equity-free funding, training, networking and mentoring from the UK’s top engineers. Over the last decade, we have supported more than 500 researchers, recent graduates and SME leaders to start up and scale up businesses that can give practical application to their inventions.

As a national Academy, the Royal Academy of Engineering provides specialist support for engineering and technology startups and scale ups right across the UK. In addition to our London base, we also operate regional Hubs in Belfast, Swansea, and Glasgow, with more to launch in 2025.

Our location

Our light, spacious head office is based in a fantastic location in central London with views over St James’s Park and close to the West End. We operate hybrid, flexible working practices with a baseline for office-based working of a mandatory weekly team day plus further days each week as required for the role and the Academy.

British Heart Foundation (BHF) is seeking a talented individual with copywriting, design, and project management skills to produce compelling fundraising propositions and bespoke communications for high-value supporters.

About the role

As High Value Communications Manager, you'll produce a range of written and designed materials for major donors, trusts, foundations, and corporate partners. You'll also work collaboratively across the BHF including with fundraisers, grant managers and health insight professionals to identify effective narratives and advise on funding opportunities. You'll write and design compelling cases for support as well as proposals, applications, updates, and donor impact reports.

Working arrangements

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.

This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.

About you

To succeed in the role, you should have:

• Proven experience of showcasing the impact of a charitable organisation for an audience of high-level donors, preferably in a medical science context, to foster repeat and lifelong support.
• Proven experience of producing high specification documents for a discerning readership, encompassing experience in copywriting, desktop publishing including InDesign and the effective use of images.
• Demonstrable project management experience, preferably in producing short and longform written materials from conception to delivery, in both digital and hard copy formats.
• Experience of working with internal and external stakeholders towards a common goal.
• Ability to work autonomously and deliver high quality work to a deadline.
• Familiarity with fundraising databases such as OneCRM and Raiser's Edge databases, would be a valuable bonus.

Interview process

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Risk Manager to join our Risk and Assurance team at Sovereign Network Group (SNG). You'll be an integral part of our risk function, which sets out how we manage risk in SNG and works with the whole organisation to embed that approach into our everyday activities and decision-making.

Based from our offices in Basingstoke or Wembley, you'll combine home and office working to ensure a positive work / life balance. There may be some occasional travel to our other offices for meetings or workshops.

The Role

Reporting into our Head of Risk, you'll partner with stakeholders throughout the organisation to provide expert risk management advice, support decision-making processes, and enhance SNG's ability to achieve its objectives. As Risk Manager, you'll play a crucial role in embedding a proactive risk management culture within SNG, ensuring that risks are effectively identified, assessed, and mitigated. Responsibilities include:

• Leading the approach across SNG to create a culture of consistent and high-quality risk management
• Supporting the organisation in implementing our framework for risk management roles, responsibilities and decision-making
• Supporting stakeholders to identify, assess, and manage risks across the organisation, ensuring sufficient and appropriate mitigation measures are in place
• Supporting the organisation with expert advice on risk management matters and emerging risks
• Embedding practices throughout SNG to ensure risks are reliably identified, assessed, prioritised, and managed
• Collating and analysing risk data to support the Head of Risk to identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement, as well as providing input into senior leadership reports
• Developing and delivering workshops and training sessions to enhance risk awareness and capabilities across the business

What we're looking for

You should have previous experience in a similar role, with demonstrable technical knowledge and skills in Risk management. A background in housing is not essential but ideally you'll have gained experience from a large organisation with a variety of risk areas to consider.  

You'll also have:

• Experience in supporting the implementation of a robust risk management framework
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
• Clear communication skills, ensuring technical information is presented clearly and concisely
• An agile approach, confident to work successfully on multiple projects at different stages and effectively prioritise tasks
• Experience in designing and / or delivering risk management awareness and training programmes is desirable

The Production Officer will play a crucial role in managing workflow into the Creative, Digital and Comms teams, and coordinating creative projects.

They will be the ultimate super user of our production management tool, Hive. They will set up projects on the system, ensure the smooth running of the system day-to-day, and help trouble shoot any issues that arise. The role will also help ensure that users internally are trained and confident in using the platform.

The Production Officer will also coordinate creative projects, to ensure they are delivered smoothly and on time, as well as supporting with the management of our content and photography library.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

· Support with the day-to-day management of the production tool, Hive. This will include setting up projects, ensuring teams are assigned, keeping the platform up-to-date, and carrying out other administrative tasks crucial for the smooth running of Hive.

· Liaise with Hive to troubleshoot any issues and stay up to date with new features on the platform.

· Be a Hive super champion across the organisation, delivering Hive inductions for new starters.

· Build and maintain strong relationships across the organisation, supporting teams to brief in work to Brand, Comms and Digital.

· Support the Creative team with the production of projects, including setting timelines, managing workflow and coordinating sign-off.

· Supporting with the management of the content and photography library, ensuring that photographs are correctly uploaded and tagged, with correct consent and removed from the system on the expiry date.

· Carry out additional directorate-wide responsibilities to support the smooth running of the directorate, for example, support with workshops and planning days.

What we are looking for:

· Experience of using a production management tool in a creative or communications environment.

· Excellent experience of coordinating projects, including managing and briefing meetings, setting timelines, and coordinating sign-off.

· Experience of bringing multi-skilled teams together to deliver tasks.

· Good understanding of creative, communications and/or digital processes.

· Experience of managing relationships with external suppliers.

· Agile and flexible, understanding that priorities may change at short notice.

· Ability to work at pace, delivering multiple projects to meet specified deadlines.

Ways of working:  As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

Role Overview 

You will be integral to achieving our strategic priorities of generating income through repeat support, and providing exceptional supporter journeys for our community, ensuring they feel valued and engaged. 

The role involves providing excellent customer care and engaging, involving and inspiring all supporters of Crohn’s and Colitis UK through building excellent relationships via a variety of communication channels. You will have the ability to manage a busy workload and deadlines whilst taking ownership of problems to find a solution where possible, escalating to a manager where required.

Key Responsibilities

Oversight of the Spear Programme

Spear Foundation is a 4-week initial phase, consisting of 2 group sessions plus a 1:1 with each trainee per week, in which we coach young people around skills and mindsets to support them in returning to work or education, and equip them with the skills to stay there. ​

• Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Assistant Coach.
• Oversee all aspects of the programme coordination and delivery.
• Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report to Resurgo and the church on enrolment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees, as well as their ongoing progress.

Partnership liaison and relationship management

• Build and implement a strategy for developing and maintaining relationships with local referral partners to build the profile of the Spear programme within Ipswich and ensure the young people who would benefit from the programme are able to access it.
• Steward relationships with young people after initial point of contact, to encourage enrolment and ensure a full cohort is enrolled for each programme.

Line management and training

• Manage the Spear Assistant Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development.
• Work with and be managed by River Church staff locally, and by a Church Partnerships Manager from Resurgo on a national level, to ensure the flourishing of the Spear centre, its team and young people, and to ensure the fulfilment of our shared mission in Ipswich.
• Work with and report to Resurgo teams on KPIs, and use outcomes data to maximise the effectiveness of the programme.

Supporting River Church’s mission and ministry

• Establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement of church members and to build a network of supporters for the Spear programme, though it is not a requirement of the role for the successful candidate to join River Church as their worshipping community if they are already part of another local church
• Work with the Head of Operations and the Fundraising Assistant to prepare grant funding applications for Spear Ipswich, and provide timely grant reporting.
• Keep the River Church congregation updated on the Spear programme to ensure it is a seamless part of the church’s missional work.

Beyond the Streets is a UK charity with over 20 years’ experience of partnering with women in the sex industry, to see them safe from coercion, violence and abuse. We deliver trauma-informed, person-centred support, provide training, and create resources and reports informed by research, lived experience, and practitioner experience.

Taking a woman-centred approach, your role is to provide phone-based holistic support for women with complex needs who want support or to exit the sex industry.

This role will be part of a small team of support workers, and a service manager, who deliver a call and email-based case work system. Philanthropy and Partnerships fundraising at Alzheimer's Research UK has grown significantly over recent years. The Directorate has a track record of soliciting seven-figure donations and winning significant corporate partnerships with well-known and well-loved brands such as Omaze, Cadbury, Warburtons, Roadchef and Dobbies.

We are now looking to build upon our success by launching a new, significant fundraising appeal. This appeal will help drive further transformational growth, from income across majors donors, trusts and foundations, and corporate partners. Ultimately, it will help us funding cutting-edge research that will bring forward the day when we can diagnose, treat and prevent dementia.

The Senior Appeal Manager will lead on the successful delivery of the Appeal managing a team of experts across Proposition Management, Donor Relations and Prospect Development. Working closely with the Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships you will design and deliver the operational aspects of the Appeal and support colleagues in Philanthropy, Partnerships and Research as they cultivate and engage a wide range of funders to the Appeal, including individuals, trusts, corporates and research organisations.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Strategic leadership

· Work with the Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships, and the Heads of Corporates Partnerships, and Philanthropy, to lead on creating and implementing the strategy for the Appeal Team.

· Create clear KPIs for the Appeal and Monitor progress against these, whilst ensuring key stakeholders are informed for progress and any challenges.

· Ensure the wider Philanthropy and Partnerships Directorate has the tools it needs to be data driven in our decision making and fundraising.

Line Management and people management

· Inspire, motivate, challenge and support individuals and teams within the Appeal Team. Promote collaborative working across the team and with other teams across the charity, developing a culture of innovation, openness, accountability and resourcefulness.

· Line-manage three members of staff, namely the Donor Relations Manager, Proposition Manager and Prospect Development Manager, actively empowering, coaching and supporting them to develop their teams’ operational plans and deliver on key priorities.

· Set clear goals, objectives and KPIs for each team member and provide them with the ongoing guidance and support they need to reach them.

· Role model and actively embed Alzheimer’s Research UK values and behaviours across all activities, and champion the principles of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.

· Provide strong leadership and support to the Appeal Team, through coaching, mentoring and developing individuals to enable them to effectively carry out their role.  Carry out performance appraisal meetings and effectively promote team building and collaborative working to deliver the strategic and operational plans.

· Ensure all of the team’s activity is conducted to the highest standards and in line with the strategic priorities, developing consistent and rigorous methods for measuring success and sharing knowledge/outcomes across the team, department, and wider charity.

· Develop extensive relationships across ARUK to ensure that all work delivered by the team is informed by strategic and operational decisions and that colleagues provide the information and access required to deliver high quality relationship management, prospect research, stewardship and propositions.

Communications

· Work collaboratively with the Heads of Philanthropy, Corporate Partnerships and Research to develop and deliver plans to maximise high value donations and support from high net worth individuals, trusts, institutional partners, senior volunteers and corporate partners.

· Lead the Appeal, ensuring delivery of a compelling and robust case for support, a suite of impactful fundraising materials, that the prospect pool has sufficient numbers and level of prospects and that fundraisers have access to a series of cultivation and stewardship events and a stewardship matrix which can be flexed to meet the needs of different types of donors.

· Stay up-to-date with ARUK’s research and other news to be able to communicate effectively with supporters, disseminating the charity’s key messages both among the team and to key supporters.

What we are looking for:

· Demonstrable knowledge and experience of major gift and/or corporate fundraising.

· Knowledge of fundraising appeals and/or running significant projects.

· Experience of developing and implementing fundraising strategies.

• Be the first port of call for partnership/collaboration enquiries from employers and higher education institutions.

• Work with our team of Employer and Higher Education Partnership Managers to understand the challenges they face and how you can support them in growing their partner bases.

• Analyse data from the Unifrog platform to inform your research around suitable higher education institutions and employers that we don’t work with but who would benefit from a partnership with us.

Due to an internal promotion, we have an opportunity for a Finance professional to join us as a Finance Officer on a 12-month fixed term contract. The role is mainly responsible for the Purchase & Sales ledger and associated matters within a charitable trusts accounting environment.

• Cultivating and strengthening relationships with churches and their congregations.

• Ensuring all fundraising is in line with our charitable aims, fundraising approach and missional pillars (Souls, Israel, Revival).
