Children's Rights Advocacy Worker
Barnardo's: Your Rights, Your Voice is an umbrella service that manages a portfolio of Children's Rights and Advocacy contracts.
Barnardo's is commissioned locally to provide a visiting Children's Rights and Advocacy Service to children and young people being held at Barton Moss SCC. In addition, Barnardo's is commissioned by the MoJ to provide a service to the wider secure estate: all Secure Training Centres (STC's) and Young Offender Institutions (YOI's) across England and Wales.
Our service objective is to provide knowledge on Children's Rights, independent advice, support and advocacy services to children and young people in accordance with the aims and objectives of Barnardo's: Your Rights, Your Voice (Secure Estate), the Children Act (1989, 2004), United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and the National Advocacy Standards (DOH, 2002).
In addition, to work as part of a team to deliver an effective and efficient service which empowers children and young people detained within a secure setting to have a voice, access available services and entitlements. Also to ensure their rights are being met in relation to issues relating to their welfare, care and treatment.

Could you be our next Kids Club Leader? We love children at Christ Church London and we are looking for a fun and dynamic Kids Ministry Leader to work at our growing Stockwell service. Better Futures Cymru is a specialist service which provides assessments and longer-term therapeutic interventions for children and young people who display problematic or Harmful Sexual Behaviour; and young people who are at risk of or who are abused through Child Sexual Exploitation.
The Service has worked in partnership with 6 local authorities across the South Wales area for the last 20 years and has close working relationships with Social Services and Youth Justice Teams across the partnership.
Our work is informed by current research and guidance and uses a range of therapeutic approaches including the trauma recovery model.

Job role
You will assist the Service Administrator in the provision of general administrative and secretarial support to the Service Practitioner and Management Teams, whilst also providing ad-hoc administrative support to our Partnership and Regional/National offices.
Your duties will also include:
- Maintaining appropriate, confidential record systems (e.g. children's case files, family files, volunteer files, management, and administrative records).

Smart Works exists to empower all women who need help getting into work. We are currently in a significant growth phase, doubling the number of women we support to 10,000 women a year by 2025. As such, we require a minimum of 50,000 items of stock from the retail sector that will enable us to dress clients and achieve our mission of helping thousands of women succeed at interview and transform their lives.
This is an exciting role that will lead the relationship management of our most important, high value brands, without which our service could not be delivered. Supported by the Head of Events & Head of Wardrobe, you will work closely with the Partnerships Team and the Wardrobe Team to deliver essential client and events stock.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining a portfolio of retail brands, conducting excellent stewardship, bespoke tailored support, with a real understanding and insight into the challenges and opportunities within the retail sector, and an ability to influence and negotiate on the charity’s behalf.
We seek an excellent relationship manager, with strong written and verbal communication skills, an ability to influence senior stakeholders and exceed set targets. An address book of retail contacts and an understanding of women’s fashion would also be advantageous.

Westway Trust is looking to appoint a dynamic and proactive Finance Officer who will maintain the sales purchase and cash ledgers (banks and petty cash) of the Westway Trust finance system, working within a friendly, busy finance department.
You will be a motivated individual with a minimum of two years’ experience working in a busy accounts department, with good organisational and administrative skills. You will also have a high standard of numeracy and will be proficient in using MS Office packages, especially Excel.
Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Receive and record suppliers’ invoices, reconcile suppliers’ statements to the purchase ledger and be the first point of contact with suppliers.
- Setup new Suppliers and Debtors.
- Keep creditor listings up-to-date.
- Sales ledger Credit control and keeping debtors list up to date.
- Raise fortnightly electronic and manual payments to suppliers, including to government institutions such as HMRC.
- Reconcile credit card statements.
- Posting of all bank and investment statements.
- Reconciliation of supplier’s statement and advising of any accruals and prepayments.
- Process staff expenses.
- Maintain invoice filing and archiving.
- Post transactions to the ledgers.
- Raise sundry invoices and collecting payment.
- Maintain electronic banking data and posting income to accounting software.
- Preparing banking for rent and non-rent receipts.
- Advising budget holders on the processes of invoice, purchase order and authorisation on Focal Point.
- Support Senior Finance Officer with month-end postings, reconciliations, year- end schedules and annual budget as required.
Experience, knowledge and skills:
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a busy accounts department.
- A high standard of numeracy.
- Experience of accurate data input or maintaining a computerised accounts system.
- Highly computer literate, with practical experience of using MS Office packages, especially MS Excel. Confident to prepare MS Excel based templates and tools to support the annual budget round and quarterly forecasting.
- Ability to follow agreed financial procedures including credit control, raising invoices, maintenance of nominal ledger, bank reconciliations and electronic banking.
- Good organisational and administrative skills, can demonstrate ability to prioritise work under pressure.
Desirable
- Knowledge of computerised accounting packages, preferably Access Dimensions and Focal Point
- Studying towards AAT qualification.
