We are looking for a part-time Finance Assistant to join our Finance team. You will support the close-knit and friendly finance team to ensure the effective operation of the charity’s purchase ledger and banking processes. You don’t need to have experience of working in a finance role - rather, we are looking for skills and aptitude. However, you must be able to
demonstrate a high level of numeracy, good written communication skills, and a working knowledge of Microsoft
Excel.
Working in the finance team, your responsibilities will be:
- To ensure the timely processing and accurate recording of purchase invoices and expenses.
- To be responsible for the weekly payment run process for expenses, administering expense requests and setting up payments for authorisation.
- To act as the primary point of contact for petty cash for the network, processing head office petty cash transactions processing centre petty cash reconciliations, and arranging the distribution of petty cash to the charity’s centres using the charity’s top-up card system.
- To be responsible for the scheduling of the payment run process.
- To support the finance team with the charity’s ordering requirements.
- To support the finance team as required with ad-hoc accounting or reporting.
- To develop a good understanding of how our accounting software, Aqilla, works.
- To assist with the preparations for the annual external audit.

The charity’s working hours are 09:00 to 17:30, Monday to Friday. The ideal working pattern for this role would be two full working days of 7.5 hours (based in the office), with a further half day of 3.75 hours (which you may choose to
work from home). However, we are happy to discuss other working hours structure with you – for example, 3.75 hours per day, 5 days per week.
We operate core working hours in Head Office so on a full work day, you can choose to start early and finish early (e.g. 8:00 to 16.30), or start later and finish later (e.g. 9.30 to 18:00).

Our Head Office team works in-person 80% of the time.
Salary
£30,000 (including £2,600 London contribution) pro rata

About Us
We are a small, dedicated local charity committed to supporting survivors of childhood sexual abuse. Our mission is to provide free and inclusive, counselling, support services and outreach to empower female survivors’ recovery from the trauma of childhood sexual abuse.

Role Overview
As the Operations Manager, you will be at the heart of ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our charity's day-to-day operations. This role is integral to maintaining the flow of our work, enabling the team to deliver on our mission of supporting survivors of childhood sexual abuse.

About the Role:
You may be a qualified IDVA or a Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker wanting to work alongside professionals in a multi-agency environment, although we will consider applicants from other fields providing you are able to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and understanding of both domestic and sexual violence.
This role involves both face to face and virtual support in a hybrid model of working. There is an expectation that you will do a mixture of working from home, our office in Old Street.
As a DRIVE Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will:
- Implement effective ways of working with victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm.
- Provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic and sexual abuse, delivering a premium service prioritised according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+
- Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic and sexual abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic and sexual abuse.
- Have excellent communication skills, a proactive approach and the confidence to be able to influence the way in which this service is delivered are key.
You will need:
- Have a knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic and sexual abuse (in heterosexual or same-sex relationships).
- Have a good understanding of domestic and sexual abuse including the impact of abuse on victims and their children.
- Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic and sexual abuse and their children.
- Understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
- Direct service delivery to victims of domestic and sexual abuse or other vulnerable people.
- Have excellent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals. Understand and be committed to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.

Role description:
Southampton Hospitals Charity is a newly set up charity, with a new finance department. We are looking for a self-motivated, experienced individual, to undertake and manage all day to day book keeping operations and tasks in the department. This will mean rolling up the shirt sleeves and doing the book-keeping (in the short term, alongside the Director of Finance). In the medium term, after assessing resourcing requirements, we may recruit an additional member of staff for this role to manage.
Essentially, this role will be responsible for all day to day book keeping operations in the finance department, ensuring that accurate and complete accounting records are kept up to Trial Balance, and that financial processes are efficient and adhered to. They will not be responsible for preparing management accounts.
The role will be expected to collaborate with the Director of Finance on the improvement of existing systems and the introductions of new ones, especially those used by non-financial staff, to ensure that all necessary information is fed to the finance department. They should be proactive, and excited by the opportunity to make their mark on this fledgling charity with a remit to raise money for the NHS in the local area.

- You will work closely with the Service Manager and other Senior Wellbeing Coordinator and take a lead on the quality assurance of work completed by the WellFamily team. About the role
We’re looking for an experienced manager and strategist to help us grow our income and impact. You will have a proven track record of running social enterprises or charities, managing staff and boosting income.

You will be assisted by Founder Nat Taplin, who has led Good Journey since the launch in 2018 and will provide expertise on car-free travel.
