We’re looking for an inspiring and influential leader to join the Kids Matter Senior Leadership Team as Head of Fundraising. In this exciting role you will inspire, lead, and develop the Fundraising team, ensuring clear objectives, effective performance assessments, and tailored development plans. You’ll lead, shape and deliver an ambitious fundraising strategy, with a target of £854k in year one and continued growth ahead. We are seeking someone who can balance big-picture planning with hands-on management, ensuring everything runs smoothly day-to-day.

Role Purpose
In this role, you will support Womankind’s Grants, Programmes and Partnerships in the Programmes and Learning team as part of the wider Policy, Programmes & Learning team. This includes planning, administration, implementation and monitoring of Womankind’s grantmaking, programmes and learning activities in line with Womankind’s organisational strategy and sub-strategies.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Programme Manager: Innovation and Partnerships (PMIP). They will make a strong contribution to the work and aims of Womankind with the scope to further develop and gain a wide range of practical experience and skills, in accordance with our feminist principles and approach.
Responsibilities
The Programmes and Grants Officer has four key areas of responsibility:
Project, Programme and Grant Management
- Support project leads with project, programme and grant management, including contracting, payment processing, and monitoring and reviewing reports and budgets;
- Support the development of new projects and programmes, in collaboration with Womankind partners and colleagues;
- Support fund managers with administration, management and coordination of Womankind’s flexible funds, particularly the Movement Strengthening Fund and Strategic Partner Support Grants;
- Support the organisation of in-person and online events and convenings, including managing logistics and travel arrangements.
Administration and Compliance
- Maintain accurate and up to date records related to Womankind partners, projects, programmes and grants, including managing and updating the contact database/CRM;
- Support due diligence processes;
- Provide logistic, administrative and technical support to the Programmes and Learning Team as agreed with the PMIP;
- Support the recruitment and placement of suitable consultants, interns and volunteers in coordination with the PMIP and relevant team members;
- Manage internal mailbox alongside other Womankind staff on the rota for this task.
Contribution to knowledge and evidence base
- Participate in the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Working Group and contribute to effective and appropriate MEL processes for Womankind projects, programmes and grants in collaboration with the Impact and Learning Advisor;
- Support the production and review of research and documentation;
- Contribute Womankind’s communications through researching and drafting content for the website and social media channels;
- Contribute to team and organisational planning and reporting to key stakeholders (e.g. donors and supporters, senior management team, Co-Chief Executives and Board of Trustees).
Contribute to Womankind’s Organisational Culture and Ways of Working
- Serve as a Programmes and Learning representative and be an active participant in cross-departmental working groups, initiatives and information sharing activities as agreed with the PMIP;
- Participate in weekly huddles, monthly team and staff meetings and other regular and ad-hoc coordination and communication spaces;
- Adopt and promote feminist and anti-racist ways of working, in line with Womankind’s feminist partnership principles and anti-racism pledge.
The role may undertake other responsibilities not outlined above which are commensurate with a role of this nature and which will be discussed and agreed with the line manager.

Reporting Structure

Ability and willingness to travel
While extensive travel is not foreseen for this role, the postholder may occasionally travel for the purpose of events and team activities up to 1-2 weeks per year.
Person Specification
Essential Experience and Skills
- Strong commitment to women’s rights and Womankind’s feminist values and ways of working;
- Demonstrable experience of project, programme and/or grant management/support;
- Demonstrable experience and skill in administration and logistics;

The Senior Support Worker will coordinate and lead the Bromley by Bow Centre’s, day care service for adults with a range of abilities and needs, including those with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, autism, dementia and mental ill health.
The role will oversee the day-to-day running of the service and lead a small team of support staff, workshop tutors, volunteers and student placements. They will be responsible for ensuring all current and newly referred individuals receive high-quality, person-centred support. They will lead and support training and development within the team and provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to staff.
To ensure the Senior Support Worker establishes and maintains contact and involvement with those accessing the service, an element of their role will be direct support provision. They will be responsible for preparing and maintaining up to date support plans and coordinating the provision of high-quality, personalised care designed around individual abilities, needs and choices.
Central to the role will be the development of activities in arts and creativity and in building life skills, including healthy eating, physical activity, money management and digital skills, promoting independence, wellbeing and inclusion within the community.

The ESOL Tutor teaches, plans, delivers and assesses’ learners of English as a second language. The tutor is involved in curriculum development and part of an expanding ESOL Team and service at King’s Arms Project. Group classes are provided to resettled adults and run at Pre-Entry, Beginner, Elementary and Pre-Intermediate Levels at our teaching locations in Shefford and Bedford. There is potential for this role to be teaching one, two or three classes based on service need and candidate availability.
You will be expected to hold a minimum TEFL/TESOL qualification and will have, or will develop, working knowledge of supporting and coaching adults learners through learning programmes.

Well House is a crisis house supported accommodation service that supports individuals for between 14 and 28 days as an alternative to requiring hospital admission for their mental health needs. The service works closely in partnership with a multi-disciplinary team in order to meet individual needs, manage risk and support individuals to achieve positive outcomes.
The service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure members of the local community are able to access critical mental health support at all hours. The service receives referrals primarily from a local hospital emergency department and crisis lines, and may receive these referrals at any time of day or night.
Early Shift 8am to 4pm
Late Shift 2pm to 10pm
Also requires working weekends

What you'll do:

You will play a pivotal role in enhancing GDI's engagement with development policy and practice, maximizing the real-world impact of its research, teaching, and doctoral training. You will be committed to using research to promote social justice, bringing your extensive experiences and development networks to the role.
You will have worked at the interface of development research, policy and practice and will be able to identify opportunities for GDI academics and their work. The role will also boost the impact of our students, for example by linking them with The University of Manchester’s Living Lab.
As this is a new role and initiative, we are looking for a self-starter who can help to finalise the strategy and approach of the Research for Transformation Lab, as well as getting activities off the ground. To do this, you’ll work closely with GDI’s Impact Director and the existing Communications and Impact Team.
This is a fixed-term, part-time role (17.5 hours per week) working within a flexible, hybrid working environment. It is funded for three years, with the potential for extension.

BACKGROUND
Theatre director Michael Grandage CBE established MGCfutures as a charity in 2013 with the royalties from his first independent West End season.
Having transitioned mid-career from actor to director Michael is acutely aware of the obstacles and hardships that can prevent creative artists and technicians from achieving their true potential.
Since 2016 the charity’s primary focus has been its innovative bursary programme supporting career development across the theatre industry – from writers, directors and producers to costume designers, theatrical milliners and stage carpenters.
MGCfutures provides vital bridging support for theatre makers who reach a crucial stage in their chosen career.
The current Director, Andrew Broadley, is stepping down to pursue personal projects after seven years in the role. During his time with the charity there have been a total of 141 bursary awards amounting to more than £500,000.
As the programme continues to grow so does the charity’s need for funds.
The new Chair, Lady Lowy Mitchell (appointed in 2023) is committed to increasing the charity’s income and has considerable experience of fundraising and development. She intends to work closely with the incoming Director to achieve a minimum of £150,000 raised year on year.

Fundraising

Stargardt's Connected is a unique award-winning charity supporting those with the rare sight loss condition Stargardt's Disease. Our mission is raising awareness, giving support and seeking a cure. ● Manage the Charity’s email inboxes, responding to communications from the Stargardt’s Community, volunteers, external partners, and third parties. Triage messages, escalate to the CEO when necessary, and develop responses with appropriate signposting to information and support.
● Represent the Charity at various in-person events alongside the CEO, including Stargardt’s Connected events (e.g. annual conference, summer picnic) and external events (e.g., Sight Village, fundraising events, other sight loss charity events).
● Assist the CEO in developing content for presentations, articles, and resources for the Charity.
● Co-ordinate the development and dissemination of the Stargardt’s Connected e-newsletter via Mailchimp, collaborating with the CEO to gather and create content.
