Now, PILS is looking for a Legal Support Manager to coordinate PILS’ membership network of law firms and NGOs, help them develop and submit applications for PILS’ services, and assist the PILS Director with legal casework.
PILS is a membership organisation, offering a range of free legal and financial supports to our solicitor and NGO members to help them take strategic human rights & equality cases in the public interest. Public interest litigation refers to legal cases that will create positive change for vulnerable or disadvantaged groups of people in Northern Ireland.
From our origins as a pilot project, PILS has matured into Northern Ireland’s dedicated support service for litigation in the public interest.
Since our project was founded in 2009, our membership network has grown to over 170 NGOs and solicitor firms. Through collaborating with these organisations, and connecting them with pro bono lawyers, PILS has been part of major legal success stories: from ‘game-changing’ judicial reviews on integrated education, seismic climate justice challenges, and multiple examples of holding public bodies to account.

In this crucial role, you will work closely with the Business Development Director and Manager to design, develop, and lead a diverse and ambitious fundraising strategy that supports the organisation’s income generation objectives. Main Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Business Development team to develop and implement a robust fundraising strategy.

To be successful, you must have experience:
- Proven experience in charity fundraising, with a solid track record of securing funding through donations and partnerships.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a wide range of audiences.
- Experience of developing, managing and delivering successful fundraising strategies and campaigns
- An understanding of the charity sector and the various income streams available.
- A creative approach to fundraising and a commitment to driving impactful change.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills.
- A track record of developing and implementing successful fundraising plans for trusts, individual giving, and/or corporate support.

How are staff supported to work remotely?
VoiceAbility has a small number of offices. Employees including Team Leaders are homebased for Administration and meetings will be held online as well as in person in the relevant community.

Women and Girls Network (WGN) seeks a highly motivated and experienced ISVA Manager to manage our West London Rape Crisis Service ISVA service and team alongside the ISVA (Black Women Service Lead) Manager. Our ISVA service provides trauma-informed, intersectional, survivor-centred, rights and strengths-based advocacy that supports survivors on their unique journey of seeking justice. You will provide Line Management and Case Management Support, including safeguarding guidance, ensuring a safe, responsive, advocacy-focused, trauma-informed, and culturally appropriate service for women accessing our support.

The role will lead the small but highly experienced team, and be the most qualified finance person in the organisation. Accountabilities
- Management of the core corporate services such as finance, payroll, the outsourced IT contract and procurement
- Management of the annual report and accounts process and the annual external audit
- Preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts including budget variation submissions

- Is a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT)

Experience

- Public sector finance experience is essential, public NDPB/ALB specific experience would be preferable
- Extensive experience of working with boards and sub committees (e.g. Audit and Risk Assurance Committees

The Latin American Women’s Rights Service (LAWRS) is a human rights, feminist organisation led by and for Latin American migrant women in the UK. Our work is dedicated to supporting the immediate and long-term needs of Latin American migrant women exposed to violations of their fundamental human rights; facing violence against women and girls, exploitation or trafficking; enduring difficult living and working conditions in low paid jobs and facing barriers to social protection. Around 2,000 women use our services every year, benefitting from practical and emotional support, learning new skills and improving their own opportunities. The Research and Engagement Policy Officer will be responsible for supporting the development of LAWRS’ policy, advocacy, and campaigning work through research co-development with a group of migrant survivors of domestic abuse. This research will highlight the barriers experienced by migrant survivors in accessing healthcare and provide opportunities for co-production and participation in policy, advocacy and campaigning spaces for women facing severe disadvantage due to intersectional inequalities.

Role Summary
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a skilled, experienced, and motivated Head of Communications and Engagement to lead on our organisation wide communications and engagement activity ensuring effective alignment with our Strategic plan objectives and our charity manifesto. A priority objective for us is the elevation of survivor voice and the successful candidate will be able to contribute to that objective with creativity, empathy, and sensitivity. Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities will include:
- To lead on Communications and Engagement activity for the whole organisation working closely with the CEO and wider Senior Management Team.
- To develop and implement engaging multi discipline campaigns including PR activity that contribute to the delivery of Causeway’s Strategic objectives.
- Lead on developing and communicating Causeways’ core messaging and brand, both internally and externally, ensuring agreed guidelines are adhered to and consistent terminology and language is always used.
- Create a pipeline for gathering stories and case study content in a way that does not place a significant burden on frontline staff and will demonstrate a clear understanding of informed consent and safeguarding in relation to vulnerable individuals and risk assessment processes.
- Build and maintain relationships with key journalists, broadcasters, content creators, celebrities and influencers as required to help further our objectives.
- Oversee the management of content and utilisation of all our digital engagement and communications channels including social media platforms and our website.
- Work to position Causeway at the forefront of the sectors we operate in communicating our innovative approaches, gaining traction and recognition across a wide audience.
- Ensure that all media, press and other external queries are handled in a timely sensitive, mutually beneficial, and accurate way.
- Effectively evaluate and measure the impact of all Communications and PR activity.
- Keep up to date on best practice and news within our sector, particularly in relation to changes to communications innovation, legislation, and codes of practice.
- Ensure Causeway abides by all relevant legislation in relation to its communications.
- Ensure all spend in relation to Communications and Engagement team and projects is within the parameters of the agreed department budget.
- Proactively respond to breaking and industry worthy news to highlight our services and position us at the front of industry knowledge sharing.
- Support identified Causeway media spokespeople in preparing for press and media interviews through thorough and accurate briefings and act as a media spokesperson when required.
- Track relevant daily news stories to our impact areas, responding to trends, key industry announcements and maximizing opportunities.
- Line manage and coach a small but effective team of communications, marketing, and content production staff
- Ensure the CEO and board of trustees are provided with quarterly reports on department progress.
- Play an active role in the senior management team and maintain an effective working relationship with your peers and colleagues, to ensure the work of the Communications and Engagement department aligns with organisational and departmental goals, strategy, and actions.

About the LGBT+ Independent Domestic Abuse Advocate role
This role builds on work that we have been doing for decades to support and empower LGBT+ people who have experienced domestic abuse. Your work will enable LGBT+ people to feel supported, heard and empowered in the face of abuse and violence, and pave the way to a safer future for our community.
You will sit alongside our other advocates supporting LGBT+ people facing abuse or violence. You will work directly with LGBT+ victims/survivors of domestic abuse, offering them a space to talk and think through options, helping them plan what they want to do, and offering assistance in getting what they need from services. Your work will focus on needs specifically related experiences of abuse or violence, including issues such as wellbeing, support with the criminal and civil justice process, safety and access to other services to enable survivors to cope and recover. You will be empathetic and thoughtful in your approach to understanding your clients’ needs, while remaining boundaried and mindful of self-care.
You will work with mainstream services to ensure the voices and experiences of LGBT+ survivors are represented in order to make change for our community at a local and national level. You will also work closely with key partner organisations by attending meetings and have the opportunity to take part in external work to ensure a joined-up approach among services working with LGBT+ people facing abuse and violence.
This is a pivotal moment in Galop’s journey. We have grown quickly over the last six years and you will be part of the future of our work.
