Senior Internal Communications Officer

London, Greater London (Hybrid)
£36,712 - £40,791 per year
Full-time
Contract (12 months)
Job description

Mental health is one of the most urgent issues facing young people today. At YoungMinds, we are leading the fight to make sure that all young people can get the mental health support they need, when they need it, no matter what.

As the need for what we do has grown in recent years, YoungMinds has been growing too – and at pace! We’re now looking for a Senior Internal Communications Officer to continue to help us to bring our internal communications and engagement strategy to life. You’ll be a creative communicator who is able to translate messages for our internal audience, through the right channel and enjoy finding new ways to inspire, inform and connect colleagues. You’ll support key aspects of our Anti-Racism, Justice, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (AJEDI) action plan and lead on initiatives to cultivate an internal culture that truly lives up to our values, paying particular attention to the needs of those who are Black or minoritised.

You will help shape a clear and engaging narrative, with messaging that resonates with our people, ensuring that the right people get the right message at the right time.

As a communications professional you will have strong aptitude for content creation and curation along with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships across the organisation.

You will be well versed in coordinating events, both in person and online, ensuring that our events are inclusive, engaging and centre our community.

The successful candidate will have:

  • experience of planning, implementing and evaluating effective internal communications
  • experience of writing and delivering communications for internal audiences, conveying complex messages with sensitivity and clarity
  • experience of managing digital platforms including content management systems
  • an ability to plan and deliver engaging and inclusive events in-person, online and hybrid
  • experience producing and editing content including newsletters, posters, audio and video
  • experience of building, nurturing and maintaining relationships across an organisation to enhance and improve communications and engagement
  • an awareness of Anti-racism, Justice, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (AJEDI) principles

We welcome applications from Black and minoritised, LGBTQIA+ groups and those with disabilities, as they are currently under-represented.

We hope that you would like to join us at a very exciting stage of our growth and development. You’ll be joining a bright, dynamic team who have a passion for supporting our ambitions.
