Job description

Are you passionate about making a positive impact in people's lives?  Do you have a genuine desire to provide support to those who need it most?  If so, we invite you to embark on a fulfilling journey with us as a Support Worker for activities.

We are a charity that provides support to those living with young onset dementia in Berkshire, Surrey Heath, NE Hampshire, Farnham and Woking.  Services we provide are age-appropriate and meaningful activity workshops, 1:1 activity support, education courses and support groups.  Young onset dementia affects adults under the age of 65.  Nationally there are estimated to be 70.800 people living with young onset dementia, with an estimated 900 in Surrey and 679 in Berkshire.

Within this role you will support us in the delivery of our services, with a focus on the provision of workshops and 1:1 activity support (no personal care is required within this role).  Examples of workshops delivered within the community are katakanuing, singing, walking, reader groups and art.  You will work as part of a team delivering our goal to "think differently about dementia".  We are looking for someone with initiative, an interest in dementia, who is reliable, creative, fun and empathetic.

If you are interested in applying, please use the Quick Apply button.

Please note, applicants must have a full UK driving licence and have daily use of a roadworthy vehicle insured for business purposes, enabling you to travel within Surrey, NE Hants, Woking and, on occasions, Berkshire.   We will also require an enhanced DBS check.

Closing date: 11 July 2024 (we reserve the right to close the advert early if we receive sufficient applications for the role. Therefore, if you are interested, please submit your application as early as possible).
