Job description

Yellow Door services are seeking a motivated practitioner who shares our values for delivering the very best in domestic and sexual abuse prevention and response.

Diversity & Inclusion Advocate
We are looking for a versatile and innovative individual who is passionate about engaging and supporting those from marginalised and or disadvantaged groups. You will provide person-centred advocacy support to people affected by domestic abuse, sexual abuse and harmful practices, working with people who may be marginalised or disadvantaged due to their disability, ethnicity, sexuality, language or communication needs or other barriers to accessing support. You will raise awareness of the advocacy support available through community outreach, educational sessions and professional training. You will build relationships with local agencies to develop partnership working. You will have an understanding of safeguarding and risk assessment and experience of advocating for service users. We actively encourage applicants from all parts of our diverse communities including Disabled People.

The successful applicant will have strong communication and advocacy skills and knowledge of the impact of domestic and sexual abuse.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £24,586.00 - £29,465.00
Contract: Fixed term 12-month contract (possible extension subject to further funding)
Starting salary dependent on skills and experience
