Wirral Mencap is a local, independent charity.  We promote equality and provide services and opportunities for adults with a learning disability and their families - empowering people to become more independent, helping people to discover new opportunities, make new friends and feel valued and safe in their community.

The projects and services that we deliver are shaped by need and we are expanding and evolving. We are thrilled to be able to offer this new post to support us with the development and delivery of new and existing projects under our Information, Advice and Advocacy service.

The Project Worker is an exciting new role at Wirral Mencap, developing the previous caseworker role to include events and project development work. The purpose of this role is to support and empower people with a learning disability and their families.

As a skilled and motivated Project Worker, you will play an active role in achieving the current aims and future development plans of the Wirral Mencap Information, Advice and Advocacy Service. 

You will be responsible for a diverse caseload and will work proactively within the team and with the people we support to create and deliver events and workshops and support new Information, Advice and Advocacy project developments.

The role is suitable for full-time (35 hours a week), part-time and job-share candidates.  

We offer flexible and home working.  25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays and a day off on your birthday.  We have a planned closed period between Christmas and New Year.  Any additional days to the Bank Holidays will be paid leave.  We also provide long service leave entitlement after 3 years of service and a 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme.
