Job description

About The Role

We are looking for friendly, outgoing people who would like to be directly involved in shaping our visitors’ unforgettable experiences through a warm welcome, interacting with them through engaging activities and providing information.

Within this role you will get the opportunity to contribute to a variety of fun activities for children and families during the weekend or school holidays. Help with anything from pond dipping and bug hunts to story telling and historical re-enactments. If these activities sound like something you could help with running and if you have an interest in inspiring children in nature, this could be the role for you!

Volunteers are an essential part of the WWT team. You'll get a warm welcome, including information on training, equipment and anything else you need.

 About You

No previous experience is required as training will be provided in all areas. However this role will suit you if you have a love of wildlife and the outdoors and are:

• Able to work in a team of staff and volunteers.
• Experience in a customer related role would be advantageous.
• Able to communicate well to a diverse range of audiences but more so with families with younger children.
• Familiar with Castle Espie Wetland Centre.
