Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role providing strategic leadership and advice on legal, risk and compliance issues across one of the leading schools in the centre of London.

As Head of Legal, Risk and Assurance, you will be responsible for implementing strategies to ensure secure compliance with all statutory, legal, and policy requirements across Westminster School.

You will provide high quality legal advice in a broad range of disciplines and apply appropriate judgement to decide which matters require legal input, in addition to further developing our risk management framework and policy.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and preparing regular assurance and compliance reporting to the Senior Management and Board Committees
  • Providing assurance on the management of risks and compliance with policies and procedures
  • Developing the incident management and business continuity frameworks and reporting
  • Leading the management of insurance, licensing arrangements and UK Visas and Immigration for staff and pupils.

About you

You will be a qualified lawyer with ideally a minimum of 5 years post qualified experience gained in an in-house leadership role.

You will also need experience of working in a similar or related role, managing legal, risk and compliance.

Good working knowledge of Health and Safety principles is equally important.
