The Role

Trusts and other grant-makers are an important source of funding for our charity and the relationships we have with new and existing funders are more important than ever. This is where you come in.

As our Trusts Fundraising Officer, you’ll be an inspiring storyteller whose enthusiasm for our work shines through in your writing. You’ll play a key role in researching new funders, crafting compelling funding applications, and ensuring we meet reporting requirements for existing supporters.

Your work will involve developing impactful case studies and gathering evidence to show the need for our services to help secure sustainable funding. You’ll be supported by our experienced Trusts Fundraising Manager to build lasting relationships with funders. Together, you’ll keep them engaged and informed about the positive impact they’re making on the young people we support.

What We’re Looking For:

• Outstanding communication skills – You can write clearly, persuasively and passionately. You’re confident speaking to others about the charity’s work.

• Writing experience – You have experience writing successful funding applications, proposals, or compelling articles, ideally but not necessarily with a  fundraising focus

• Fundraising experience - You may not have written a grant application before but you should have some paid or voluntary experience in a fundraising capacity.

• Attention to detail – You take pride in your work, have a good eye for detail and a thorough approach.

• Self-motivation and organisation – You’re able to manage your own time and prioritise effectively.

• Passion for the outdoors and youth development – You understand the importance of giving vulnerable young people outdoor experiences and are willing to put on your waterproofs and join in on our activities and camps to witness first-hand the difference the Youth Adventure Trust makes.

• Willingness to learn - if you think you have what it takes but don’t have lots of experience as a Trusts Fundraiser, this role comes with plenty of scope to develop your writing skills and gain experience within a supportive team environment.

As Chapter Clerk, you’ll ensure governance and regulatory compliance, support policy reviews, and manage health and safety, data protection, and committees. As Designated Safeguarding Lead, you’ll ensure best practices and uphold the highest standards of protection across the cathedral.

Who we are looking for.

You will share our passion for the cathedral's mission, vision, and values, and will actively support them. We are seeking a candidate with senior leadership experience in not-for-profit or faith-based environments, with a proven ability to unite diverse teams around a shared mission. Experience in managing multi-departmental organisations and overseeing income-generating portfolios, such as property, fundraising, retail, or events.

You should have experience working with boards of trustees and building relationships with diverse stakeholders. Strong financial management and project management skills, including overseeing budgets and delivering major projects, are required. We are looking for a collaborative leader who can inspire and empower teams while fostering a supportive environment. Experience in health and safety, HR, and staff development is also important.

Overall purpose

Your primary responsibility will be to lead Breaking Barriers’ employment programme in Birmingham and the West Midlands, and support the Senior Employment Services Manager and Director of Services in ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency in the support we provide to clients.  

Working closely with the Senior Employment Services Manager, you will take ownership of delivery within this region and lead on the delivery of the contract, including maintaining effective external stakeholder relationships and providing accurate and timely reporting. You will line manage and support a team of Employment Advisers (“Advisers”), enabling them to provide high-quality support to clients and coordinate the day-to-day operational activity which keeps our programmes running.

You are a highly organised and effective worker who knows when to adopt a creative approach and when to follow the established process. You will have an empathetic manner, be willing to go the extra mile to support clients and be proactive in looking for ways to improve our service. Lived experience would be helpful but is not essential.  

In addition to exceptional people skills, you will be a strong communicator and possess meticulous attention to detail. You will be confident working autonomously, helped by excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise and cope with interruptions.

You should have at a demonstrable track record of transferrable work experience in coordinating service delivery, projects or programmes, or another relevant field. Equally important is a demonstrable commitment to working with marginalised populations who face barriers to employment, particularly refugees. A strong interest in employability support and experience delivering employment programmes or careers advice would be a strong advantage.

As Chief Operating Officer, you will manage and develop the diverse business operations of the Trust.

This role will allow you to use your creativity to proactively seek new income generation opportunities through event management. You will be a highly organised and motivated individual with excellent time management and written and verbal communication skills. You should also have knowledge and experience of working with a range of external suppliers and volunteers and have a proven ability to build relationships at all levels. About the role

Role

This is a new position. Under the general direction of the Director of Operations, you will be involved in all the duties required to maintain a complete general ledger and financial records and support financial planning/forecasting.

International Accountant Responsibilities

• Perform duties necessary for the timely and accurate verification and recording of financial and investment (MRI/PRI) operations including general ledger, entries and reconciliations, investment portfolio tracking and transactions, international payroll, benefits and taxes.
• Work closely with Human Relations Specialist on payroll and benefits administration processes.
• Collaborate with senior management team, Operations Manager and others to determine an optimal process for reviewing and approving expenses.
• Audit corporate credit card(s).
• Identify institution and global consolidated reporting needs with senior management team and agree schedule and distribution for regular financial reporting.

Budgeting and Financial Planning

• Assist in preparation of the annual organisational and department budgets.
• Monitor and provide quarterly budget performance reports and analysis to organisation and departments with close cooperation to develop and implement measures to minimize variance.
• Assist staff to self-manage budgets.
• Support financial planning and forecasting including developing scenarios for growth.

Cash Flow Management

• Reconcile annual and quarterly projected expenses and cash flow requirements and coordinate with family office for redemption decisions.
• With Operations Manager and Human Relations Specialist, maintain and improve policies and organization discipline for accurate and timely processing of accounts payables, employee expense reports, travel guidelines, time reporting, etc.

Regulatory and Audit Compliance (initially in support of regulatory reporting through the family office)

• Strengthen financial systems integrity and controls according to IFRS, tax and regulatory measures and foundation policies.
• Build systems for timely and accurate provision of data and provide direct support for annual audit and tax filing.
• Work with external advisors, as needed, to ensure compliance with relevant country and international regulatory requirements in areas of taxes, documentation requirements, payroll and benefits.

General and Other

• Develop and manage relationships with accounting-related service providers as needed including in-country and global accountants, auditors, payroll and tax experts.
• Develop and maintain an asset inventory/schedule.
• Support for MRI/PRI activities as needed.
• Continually improve internal financial processes.
• Potential management of banking relationships, international wire transfer and/or other payments systems.
• Occasional travel as required for execution of duties.
• Other duties as are consistent with accountant’s role and experience as the foundation continues to evolve, or from time to time as prompted by institutional priorities.

We are now seeking a Communications and Campaigns Manager who will be a creative thinker able to Think Big and Act Wild whilst managing the timely and effective delivery of communications campaigns, projects and events, increasing our advocacy and fundraising impact.

The post holder will be a strong planner, organiser, pro-active team player and hands-on campaigner. You’ll be a key member of the Communications and Engagement team and use your strong collaborative skills to work effectively with our Catalyse, Influence and Fundraising teams to create powerful, transformative communications and campaigns.

You will be results driven and enjoy managing multiple communications projects across different channels in order to increase engagement levels with different stakeholders. Line Manager: Director of Communications and Engagement

Line Management Responsibilities: No line management. The post holder will have responsibility for maintaining management of freelancers, agencies and partners.

Your responsibilities will include:

Communications campaign development and management:

• Develop and project manage a programme of integrated communication campaigns that grab attention and encourage action across rewilding practice, policy and fundraising.
• Work closely with the Communications and Engagement team to develop aligned messaging and campaign assets and to deliver these across owned, earned and paid channels.
• Lead on the creation of compelling campaign assets and content (e.g. polls, petitions, online actions and campaign toolkits).
• Manage campaign timeframes and budgets seeking a good, quantifiable return on investment.
• Gather and present audience insight to inform our campaigns and ensure our campaigning work is evidence led.
• Set and measure campaign KPIs, conduct campaign de-briefs and write campaign evaluations, encourage a culture of testing and learning and growing our campaigning approach.
•  Seek relevant external collaboration opportunities with allies and partners to amplify our campaigns.
• Where appropriate, commission and manage the relationship with external creative, campaigning and advertising agencies.

Communications projects and events management:

• Organise, plan and deliver our involvement at online and in person events that will help to encourage action across rewilding practice, policy and fundraising (e.g. exhibition stands at party political conferences or corporate fundraising events).
• Design, deliver and project manage cross-organisational communication activities which will raise the profile of Rewilding Britain (e.g.World Rewilding Day, anniversary events).
• Support the Catalyse, Influence and Fundraising teams with the communication requirements for events (e.g. Rewilding Network conferences, fundraising dinners, panel debates, report launches).

Cross-functional collaboration:

• Work closely with the Catalyse, Influence and Fundraising teams to integrate campaign efforts and identify the relevant campaign issues, priorities and opportunities for influencing policy, fundraising and Network membership growth.
• Support the broader Communications and Engagement team to implement strategically aligned locally focused communications activities, projects and events for England, Scotland or Wales.
• Collaborate with freelancers, consultants, agencies, volunteers, supporters, and stakeholders to amplify our communications and campaigns reach and impact.
• Represent Rewilding Britain alongside other team members at events, exhibitions, workshops, conferences, rallies and more to advance our communication and campaign objectives.

Communication innovation and improvement:

• Stay current with sector and specialist trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously grow our communications and campaign effectiveness.

Terms and conditions and staff benefits

The role is a full-time, 5-day-week (35 hours) position.

The salary is £38,000 - £43,000 per annum depending upon experience.

We’re looking for an experienced project manager interested in the deliberative democracy field to deliver selection and stratification services to clients, to enable randomly selected processes to take place at all levels of government & society. As a project manager, you will be responsible for ensuring a smooth journey for our clients and a high quality of service delivery. 

Responsibilities

• Liaise with clients to manage selection and stratification services

• Co-ordinate the design, printing and postage of invitation materials, including the random selection of addresses for the invitations to be sent to

• Developing web-pages (using a CMS) for clients to enable registration for randomly selected events

• Developing spreadsheets and back-end processes to enable random selection for events

• Co-ordinating the confirmation of selected participants and replacing those who drop out

• Preparing reports for clients
