If so, St Giles is looking for an Emergency Department Navigator to join our team and provide vital support for those young people admitted to the hospital right through to their safe discharge back into the community and ensuring that they have access to appropriate longer-term support.

About this exciting opportunity

Working as an integral part of the ED Navigator team, our successful candidate will identify and assess young victims of violence and provide a comprehensive and holistic assessment, advice, referral and support service, exploring innovative and effective ways of supporting them which will reduce their risk of re-victimisation.

You will produce support and risk management plans based on assessments, promoting inter-agency collaboration in the assessment and planning process, and deliver a holistic support service, working solo or with colleagues as the situation dictates, which will include providing practical help such as social and housing support, accompanying to appointments, ETE options and appearing in court. We will also count on you to develop and maintain relationships with partner agencies and to close cases efficiently and positively, identifying a referral route for the client that will identify agencies that can be used for ongoing support.

What we are looking for

• Personal experience of the criminal justice system, lived experience of the issues facing this client group and/or experience of working with ‘high risk’, vulnerable children, young people and/or families

• Experience in working as part of a multi-agency team

• Experience of using support plans, to enable people to successfully access support services

• Substantial experience of engaging successfully with ‘challenging’ young people

• To have a relevant qualification to a good standard or be working towards one

• A knowledge of relevant services for young people and their families in the service provision area

• First-class interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, both verbal and written. 

Successful candidates must undergo an Enhanced DBS check, on the basis that the post involves contact with vulnerable participants and colleagues.

The role
We are looking for a dynamic and compassionate Mental Health Trainer to deliver short courses to groups of people in our community to improve their mental wellbeing. You will also deliver mental health awareness workshops to corporates and other organisations in and around the Tunbridge Wells area, and help to facilitate internal workshops with staff and volunteers. The main duties and responsibilities are:

1. Course Development:

• Design and develop short courses for specific groups of people in our community, with information and tools to enable people to manage their mental wellbeing, ensuring content is evidence-based, culturally sensitive, and relevant to diverse audiences.
• Develop workshops for corporates and other organisations on mental health and steps they can take to promote mental wellbeing in their workplace or organisation.

2. Course Delivery:

• Provide practical tools and strategies for managing mental health and promoting mental wellbeing.

3. Participant Engagement:

• Work with the Marketing Manager to develop and disseminate marketing and promotional materials and activities for the short courses.

• Evaluate the effectiveness of the courses and workshops and make adjustments as needed.

Right now, one of our partners, Aquarius is looking for a Drug and Alcohol Practitioner to join their Bedfordshire Young People’s Team. Aquarius helps young people aged 5-18 overcome the harm caused by drugs and alcohol by working closely with the individual, family members and other professionals. But it’s only possible with the help of people like you.

Your challenge? – To provide information and advice, brief interventions and long-term structured interventions to support young people who are using drugs and alcohol or being impacted by someone else’s use.  You will be conducting assessments, risk assessments, care-planning and working directly with other services such as schools, social care, mental health services and youth offending.The successful candidate must have exceptional organisational skills and the ability to work with other agencies both face to face, email and via telephone.

An energetic and confident self-starter, you will be required to hold a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies). Alternatively, we’ll consider candidates with experience of working in the substance misuse field . The Role

St Barnabas House, Martlets and Chestnut Tree House are seeking a Community Engagement Assistant to join the Community Engagement team.  This newly created role will provide vital support to our Events Fundraisers and Community Fundraisers enabling them to go above and beyond for our incredible supporters who go out of their way to raise crucial funds for adult and children’s hospice care in Sussex and beyond.

This role offers flexibility in location, with hybrid working and offices in both Brighton and Worthing.  There will be some travel required between sites.  Whilst this role is advertised at 37.5 hours per week, part-time hours (minimum 4 days a week) will be considered.

Location: Home-based (with regular travel to Bristol and Bath)
Salary: Circa £35,000 FTE pro-rata

The Role
As the Head of Programmes, you will play a pivotal role in delivering our 2023-2026 strategy. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage programme delivery, ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
• Line manage a team of five project leads, fostering a supportive and inclusive culture.
• Develop new processes for project management, information handling, and impact reporting.
• Work closely with stakeholders, including local authorities and funders, acting as the face of the charity in key meetings.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including GDPR and safeguarding.
• Lead on environmental impact reporting and develop our baseline methodology.
• Ensure lived experience guides our work and is embedded in our decision making.
• Represent Your Park at strategic meetings, building strong partnerships and securing future opportunities.

You will have proven experience in managing programmes and teams, ideally in the fields of health, nature, or access. Job Summery:

The Research Grants Officer’s role is to support the Research team to ensure that The Charity effectively delivers our Research Strategy: Accelerating a Cure and our grant programme.

You will assist with all aspects of pre and post award grant management, and help further the delivery of our Research Strategy. 

��Location: While contracted to our office in Fleet, Hampshire, our team supports a blend of office and home working provided you have adequate broadband and IT capability, with an average of 2-3 days in the office each week.

⏰Working hours: This role is 37.5 hours per week, with some out of hours working.

��Annual salary: £31,200 (dependent on level)

Who we're looking for:

With an enthusiasm and passion for the work of The Brain Tumour Charity you will have a strong understanding of medical research and its funding. You will be highly organised, with excellent communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal), a keen eye for details and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. We also welcome applications from brain tumour relevant researchers, looking for a new direction.

Key accountabilities:

• Work with and assist the Research Team in the implementation of The Charity’s strategic goals and research strategy.
• Undertake research related projects as requested by the Chief Scientific Officer to further the aims of The Charity to transform the research landscape to support people in living longer, better lives following a brain tumour diagnosis.
• Assist with the continued development and maintenance of our research management database as an ongoing resource for future grant rounds, as well as for regular reporting and financial management of current grants.
• Support the administration of The Charity’s grant application, monitoring and review processes, including liaising with researchers and assessment panels.
• Support the peer reviewing of submitted proposals by identifying keywords in applications and expert reviewers for those areas, and ensuring reviews and scores are completed within strict deadlines.
• Organise and attend panel meetings including liaising with attendees and venues, preparing and distributing panel packs, and taking minutes and producing summaries where necessary.
• Monitor the progress of current grants through review of annual reports as well as regular engagement with The Charity’s funded researchers outside of reporting timelines.
• Financial monitoring of awarded grants and maintain accurate records of expenditure.
• Maintain accurate electronic records to track grant applications and awarded grants.
• Respond to enquiries about The Charity’s funded research, research strategy and calls for applications from researchers, the general public and colleagues within The Charity.
• Assist in ensuring the scientific accuracy of internal and external communications around the research programme, for example in feedback letters, mail outs, newsletters, website content and press releases.
