To develop MSF’s face to face team, helping to grow MSF UK’s regular giving income. The Role
FILE is seeking an experienced Head of Philanthropic Partnerships to lead the organisation’s ambitious fundraising programme, and set direction at a key time for our growth and development. The Head of Philanthropic Partnerships will work closely with FILE’s Executive Director, Senior Leadership Team and Board of Trustees to lead the Philanthropic Partnerships team, set strategic direction on fundraising, effectively steward high level donor relationships and deliver against ambitious fundraising targets to secure new donors at highest financial level.
The Head of Philanthropic Partnerships will manage the Philanthropic Partnerships team of two and report to the Director of Partnerships and Finance. They will work closely with strategy leads and subject matter experts to plan and deliver excellent donor engagement strategies. The Head of Philanthropic Partnerships will lead senior conversations and engagement externally, and lead on initiatives to develop funding propositions, craft strategic communications strategies and oversee donor fund management and delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy and leadership
The Head of Philanthropic Partnerships will be responsible for strategy and direction on fundraising to:
- Refine and evolve the fundraising vision for the organisation and deliver and report on ambitious financial and non financial targets, working closely with the Executive Director, Senior Leadership Team and Board
- Continue to build and embed organisational fundraising culture and competencies at all levels
- Take the lead on transforming fundraising priorities into compelling donor propositions and strategies
- Collaborate with the Head of Grants and Head of Finance leads on fund management, funding restrictions, reporting and information flow.
Donor relationship management and stewardship
The Head of Philanthropic Partnerships will lead on donor relationships, and partner with senior colleagues and strategy leads to deliver excellent donor experiences through a decentralised fundraising model.
- Lead FILE’s donor engagement strategy, stewardship and communications planning and be responsible for overseeing delivery for all donors
- Lead partnerships with major high value funders, including through development of resilient and complex many-to-many institutional relationships
- Support the Philanthropic Partnerships Lead and Philanthropic Partnerships Manager to manage other key donor relationships, and role model fundraising best practices
- Be responsible for impact reporting for all donors, and work with Impact and Learning colleagues to design and develop compelling and engaging approaches to donor reporting
- Design and deliver excellent and inspiring donor experiences, including events, digital experiences and senior level engagements
Strategic communications and external relations strategy
- Consider and shape FILE’s donor facing brand identity and strategic communications approach
- Define and shape stakeholder management and fundraising objectives and priorities for the Executive Director to set and deliver a vision for their external mandate and focus
- Scope and explore opportunities to refine the organisation’s approach and positioning around thought leadership for the climate philanthropy sector
- Empower senior colleagues and strategic leads to plan and deliver excellent donor experiences and external thought leadership by partnering across the organisation in a decentralised model
Cultivating new funder relationships
The Head of Philanthropic Partnerships will be responsible for securing new funding relationships, delivering against ambitious income targets.
- Drive new income growth by identifying new donor opportunities, and collaborating internally to define and deliver on engaging and bespoke cultivation strategies
- Manage the income pipeline to drive forward new opportunities, and track and report on progress to the Senior Leadership team and Board
- Lead the development of new relationships externally through face to face meetings, peer approaches, networking, and planning and delivering excellent engagement strategies
About you
- We are looking for a dynamic and confident philanthropy professional, with demonstrable experience of leading complex and high value philanthropic partnerships at the 7+ figure level.
- We are seeking a candidate with exceptional leadership and strategic attributes and a passion for creating sector leading partnerships with some of the world’s leading philanthropies.
- The preferred candidate will be a confident and collaborative team leader, with expert knowledge of the philanthropic sector, excellent skills of planning and analysis and a flair for communications.

The Foundation for International Law for the Environment (FILE) was set up in 2018 to be the major philanthropic regrantor scaling up legal action globally to tackle the climate and biodiversity crisis.
We work as movement enablers, campaign strategists, and impact funders, using the law in pursuit of three interconnected system-level goals:
- Reducing net greenhouse gas emissions to protect the climate
- Safeguarding nature
- Delivering climate and environmental justice
We pursue these goals by supporting legal action, growing the strength of the climate and biodiversity legal movement globally and enabling people and movements to use legal action to shift narratives.

Location
FILE has offices in London and the Netherlands, and a small hub of staff in Australia. Otherwise, we look to employ staff remotely in the regions where our partners are based. Purpose of Role
The Strategic Campaigns Manager will lead the development and execution of impactful campaigns to elevate Ramblers' profile, political influence, and engagement across England, Scotland, and Wales. Working closely with Directors, Policy & Public Affairs Managers, and the Communications team, this role is pivotal in advancing our advocacy goals and expanding supporter engagement.
The role will position Ramblers as the foremost authority on walking and access and a respected political influencer.
This position plays a crucial role in influencing public perception and achieving business outcomes through strategic communication and marketing efforts. The role holder will focus on developing campaigns that unite issues that affect the whole of GB turning political advocacy into engaging and powerful campaigns. They will also support the broader communications team to implement locally focused advocacy and public affairs campaigns for England, Scotland or Wales where appropriate
Key responsibilities
Campaign strategy development:
- Design and execute integrated strategic campaigns that support our shared public affairs objectives across England, Scotland & Wales to deliver meaningful impact against a common change agenda
- In collaboration with colleagues, identify key issues and opportunities for advocacy, fundraising, and membership growth including where appropriate commissioning research that will create campaign engagement by addressing evidence gaps and opportunities
Campaign management:
- Work closely with the broader communications team to develop strategically aligned messaging and campaign assets and to deliver these across owned, earned and (where relevant) paid channels.
- Lead on the creation of compelling campaign assets (e.g. reports, polls, toolkits) to ensure our message reaches a wide audience.
- Project manage campaigns including managing timeframes and budgets, mobilising other teams, seeking collaboration opportunities with external partners, setting and measuring KPIs
Cross-functional collaboration:
- Work closely with membership, and fundraising teams to integrate campaign efforts. Support Policy & Public Affairs colleagues to develop impactful policy briefings, position papers and fact sheets.
- Support the broader communications team to implement strategically aligned locally focused advocacy and public affairs campaigns for England, Scotland or Wales where appropriate
- Collaborate with volunteers, supporters, and stakeholders to amplify campaign reach and impact.
Data analysis and reporting:
- Monitor and analyse campaign performance using key metrics and data insights.
- Prepare detailed reports and recommendations to inform future campaigns and strategies.
Advocacy and public relations:
- As required and agreed with colleagues, represent the Ramblers in public forums, media, and with key stakeholders to advance campaign objectives.
Budget management:
- Manage campaign budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and adherence to financial guidelines.
- Track expenditures and report on budgetary outcomes.
Innovation and improvement:
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously enhance campaign effectiveness.
- Implement feedback and lessons learned to refine and improve campaign strategies.
Other
- Undertake such other duties as may be required of the post.

We’re seeking excellent teachers who want to enjoy a completely different way of working!
Our Outreach teachers support students who aren’t currently able to attend school, for example because of mental or physical health needs or challenges in previous schools.
This is a mobile role which requires flexibility; you and a Teaching Assistant will work from a designated space in the family home, or at a local library, and offer personalised education for each student. Our ideal candidate is inclusive and uses the child as the starting point to plan an engaging and suitable curriculum which helps each child to meet their EHCP outcomes and grow academically too.
We work hard to match the right student with the right teacher and Teaching Assistant; you may be an expert with students in a particular age group (our students range from 6 to 16), subject, or enjoy working with students who have particular needs such as SEMH, hearing impairments or Autism Spectrum Condition. Almost all of our students have EHCPs, though their needs are quite varied. Our students benefit from creative approaches to learning so you can have fun with how to you teach!
Because of their vulnerabilities and often disrupted learning experiences, our students need a caring approach and our work is underpinned by the principles of Attachment Theory. To flourish in this role you must care about children and believe that every child deserves the best opportunity to achieve their potential, whatever that looks like.
The ideal candidate will also be able to develop positive relationships with parents and carers. Experience working with students with SEND or in a Special School is advantageous but not essential.

About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Executive and managing a small team of Finance and HR personnel, the Head of Finance & Resources position is broad in scope. The post holder will be responsible for the development and implementation of RHSU strategy relating to finance, people and culture, governance and digital infrastructure. The post holder will ensure the delivery and resourcing of operating plans, policy and operating procedures to ensure that the Union delivers its strategic objectives across its support services. The position sits on the Senior Leadership team and will be expected to play a key role in the delivery of our 3 new strategic enabling themes: People & Culture, Well Governed & Sustainable and Physical & Digital Infrastructure.
Key responsibilities are centred around, but not limited to:
Strategic Management and Leadership – including supporting the delivery of the Union’s strategic plan, leading on financial planning, overseeing compliance and forming part of a strong Leadership Team with other senior colleagues and Sabbatical Officers.
People Management – including leading on the People & Culture plan, leading on recruitment and embedding a learning & development culture at RHSU.
Financial Management – including creating a culture of strong financial literacy, leading on all budgeting & forecasting, financial controls, the annual external audit and having overall responsibility for the accuracy of financial records, including but not limited to the organisation’s VAT returns, payroll & pensions, fixed asset portfolio and funds.

Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for an experienced finance professional who is ideally at least part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA. An excellent understanding of charity finance, regulation and governance is required, along with experience of senior level management and leadership in a similar sized organisation.
Skills and experience with developing strategic plans, project/change management and leading on digital infrastructure projects would also be very useful experience to succeed in the role. Strong commercial acumen would be beneficial too -against a backdrop of constantly changing commercial considerations and wider Higher Education sector pressures.
