Job description

The Talent Set are working on a fantastic opportunity with Versus Arthritis to find their Assistant Director of Engagement. This position is being brought in on an initial 2 year FTC.

The Income and Engagement Directorate plays a key role in transforming awareness of arthritis, building the charity’s profile and developing a strong, active and loyal community of support. The Assistant Director of Engagement will bring a single point of strategic leadership, integration and cohesion to the charity’s engagement functions.

 

We are looking for an exceptionally skilled and senior marcomms professional to lead a strategy that will grow awareness of Versus Arthritis’ brand and work. You will build a fantastic community of support, grow the media profile, and bring integration to marketing, communications, digital, and creative content functions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

·       Lead integrated marcomms planning and delivery across the organisation, ensuring that the plans and requirements of internal stakeholders are met whilst also delivering a coherent and paced programme of communications to our supporters and stakeholders in all four nations.

·       Manage and support the Head of Creative & Content to deliver the successful development and roll-out of a charity rebrand, including the management of attendant risks and opportunities.

·       Focus the charity’s PR & Media team on strategic and proactive coverage, ensuring the charity is the first port of call for arthritis or MSK stories.

·       Lead a team of technical experts across Engagement to be the best that they can be.

 

Person Specification:

 

·       Highly skilled marcomms leader with a significant professional background across at least one of communications, marketing or digital, ideally within a health, research, and/or not-for-profit setting.

·       Demonstrable experience of leading and driving improvement and integration across marcomms functions.

·       Accomplished leader and manager – experience of developing high performing teams to deliver ambitious plans, including major change programmes.
