Financial Accountant

We are working with a leading Membership Organisation to recruit for an interim Financial Accountant on a contract basis. The role will be responsible for assisting various smaller branches in completing their external audit and signing off financial returns.

Key responsibilities of the role:

• Assisting Branch managers carry out the external audit and complete year end
• Managing the month end close processes and performing balance sheet reconciliations for particular smaller branches
• Reviewing the year-end trial balances and analysing key variances with previous years to identify potential omissions
• Supporting the Branch Managers to manage the external audit process, undertaking a project management style approach to managing relevant task lists / audit queries and outstanding items
• Managing the month end timetable to ensure deadlines are met
• Ensuring all journals are uploaded into the finance system for approval in compliance with the journals policy and month end deadlines
• Managed the fixed asset register and VAT returns for each branch
• Reporting to the Senior Audit Manager and sitting within the Audit team

Ideal candidate profile:

• Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
• Prior experience of assisting during audit for smaller entities / branches
• Strong financial accounting and year end experience
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels

Rate: £325 per day paid via Umbrella company (inside ir35) 

Working hours:  Full time - Hybrid (3 days on site / 2 days from home)

Working pattern: 35 hours a week
