Are you looking to join a team that values people and partnerships and is dedicated to creating transformational experiences for our community? A place where you will have the opportunity to learn, develop and grow in a collaborative and supportive culture? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you.

The University of Brighton has an unrivalled independent spirit that embraces all people and their ideas. Through our world-class research and student experience. We are creating a stronger city and region, and stronger futures for our students, community, and world.

The Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement department plays a crucial role in helping to deliver these ambitions. We believe in the power of building relationships and partnerships with our valued alumni and supporters. And in providing them with the opportunity to offer gifts of time, experiences, and funding, which provide transformational experiences for our students and help fund world-leading research.

The Student Funding & Engagement Officer plays an important role in providing mutual value to our funders, students, alumni, honorary graduates, and the University. You will be responsible for managing the department’s philanthropically funded opportunities for students and academic colleagues, such as scholarships, experience and employability funds, and postgraduate and research opportunities.

You will oversee the full funding lifecycle for our programmes including administering the application process, arranging assessment panels, awarding funds, and connecting recipients to other opportunities. You will nurture relationships with recipients and build a programme of engagement to ensure they maximise their funding opportunity and capture its impact.

You will have,

• Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent time management

• Great communication skills that nurture and develop strong relationships

• Experience of organising and running events both online and in-person

• An ongoing openness to learn and develop your knowledge

The role offered is permanent, working for 30 hours per week and can take advantage of our hybrid working policy.

We are committed to investing in potential. We encourage people to contact us if they think they only meet some of the criteria for an informal chat to discuss your suitability for the role.

Please contact Louise Caseley, Philanthropy Manager.
