Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Business Management graduate to work on an innovative project with Brighton based charity, Trust for Developing Communities and the University of Brighton.  

The role is to create an innovative, professional, and commercially viable community research function, gaining valuable insights with disadvantaged communities and providing actionable recommendations for driving social change.

The Trust for Developing Communities (TDC) seeks to strengthen its community-research initiatives. This involves expanding participatory action research work and enhancing training programs for individuals involved in conducting research within and beyond the organisation. The aim is to enhance the impact of TDC’s social change programmes.

This position is a 28-month fixed term contract as a KTP Associate, to deliver a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project.

About you  

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A min 2:1 Business management related degree, preferably with qualification in the field of marketing
  •  Relevant Masters in the field of Social and/or Strategic Marketing is desirable, as are theoretical knowledge and research enquiry skills.
  • Commitment to social justice and enabling social change.
  • Project planning and time management skills with the ability to work independently and to meet objectives and deadlines with an appropriate level of supervision.
  • Experience completing regular written reports, meeting minutes, and presentations (potentially both at the university and commercially) and academic papers.
  • Experience contributing to collaborative decision making in areas of business and research.
  • Experience in, and an understanding of secondary research, qualitative and quantitative data capture and analysis, including thematic analysis (for example using NVivo)
